Kind of curious as to why your offering them at such a premium over market price?

@mr.joker

i dont think there would be a problem to do the trade with an escrow?

I don't stake my BTCD often because I feel I am taking a risk every time I open my wallet and enter my password to stake.
I am worried about an attacker logging my password or stealing my private keys.

- Is it safe to stake my BitcoinDark using Windows on a public wifi at somplace like Mcdonald's?

- How should I educate myself in order to better secure my coins?

- Would studying linux or C programming help improve my security?

I felt secure in my setup.  Until a malicious tor exit node cleaned out ~3 btc from my blockchain.info wallet.  Now I feel like a noob
I created this DarkCity bitcointalk account using tor, and will only ever access it through tor using tails.

- Is it possible for an attacker to see where I am posting from?
Windows has the most malware
wifi is NOT secure at all
Tor is difficult to use properly

You are much better off staking occasionally and only from a hardline connection. Ideally a computer (laptop) that is only doing this and used for nothing else. You can unlock it for staking once and just leave it staking.

A lot of people get an old (inexpensive) laptop, install a fresh unix for this purpose. Learning unix will allow you to stop using Windows, so highly recommended

James

P.S. unless the attacker is actively trying to deanonymize you, going through Tor will protect you for forum activity, but never use Tor for crypto. Tor is not safe for crypto usage, it is for protecting your IP while using websites, but not foolproof due to its requirement for maintaining packet temporal response.

Ok, thank you for the information.

I bought a cheap laptop to dedicate to Bitcoindark.

I will install a fresh Ubuntu on it.

The challenge for me will be figuring out how to install BitcoinDark on Ubuntu.

Good idea. It is not difficult, just post here when it's set up and I'll help you.

Seriously, we need people to do this.
You don't need to know C or be particularly technical, and it will be even easier when the Windows wallet is out.
Anyone know knows their way around linux should be head and shoulders above me.
Anyone who really knows what they're doing will be able to clean up with this stuff.
This is really important to make sure SuperNET is as robust as possible, and there are 1000 UNITY at stake to convince you to spend some time on it.

SuperNET API Testing Update:

As of 12/5

Bug Totals: Cassius 1, Longzai 1

Potential Payout: Cassius: 50 UNITY, Longzai 50 UNITY

Rewards will be paid out for finding big bugs (important enough to fix) and there should be plenty.

Rewards will be paid out at the end of each week to bugfinders and will continue for 5 weeks.

(12/2-12/8)      Week 1: 100 Unity (SuperNET)
(12/9-12/15)    Week 2 :150 Unity
(12/16-12/22)  Week 3: 200 Unity
(12/23-12/29)  Week 4: 250 Unity
(12/30-1/5)      Week 5: 300 Unity

The weekly reward is divided amongst those that found the big bugs for the week.

E.g. Week 1: Sally finds 10 bugs and Bob and Doug each find 5, so Sally gets 50 Unity and Bob and Doug each get 25 Unity

No tech knowledge required just enough to use the command line and be able to run Linux. (BTCD/SuperNET Windows build coming very soon)

Please send me a PM if you are interested in testing.

Happy Hunting,

Azeh

Think about all the people using SuperNET who aren't holding any BitcoinDark; it's quite a large number. Now, wait until they want to start using Teleport to send money and make telepods for anonymous trading. Wait until they have to download Bitcoindark to have access to SuperNET (which is the case). These people are gonna want to acquire some btcd, and there are only 1.2 million.

So yeah, let a dumper dump yall  Wink

Who cares if someone wants to dump Bitcoindark? Just means cheaper coins. Someone announces his plan to dump coins before he does it...I call that an opportunity. Selling 100 coins a day discreetly would be much smarter. Once the big release happens, we are due for a massive increase anyway.

My point is: please dump your coins!

About to sell 1000 BTCD on Bittrex.  Buying some more SuperNET.

YOLO

If I had 3,500 BTCD I sure as hell wouldn't be selling it all at once like this.

Hmmm yeah, maybe I should slow down and see if anyone wants to trade OTC instead.

WTT: 1000 BTCD for 530 UNITY

Thanks for reconsidering CrazyNewb, hope you and James were able to make a deal OTC style Smiley

Please please no more "dumping" on exchanges Undecided.

Why dont you make a deal off exchange? This would be a win-win situation for both parties. Trade can be done via agreed orders on exchange, via NXT MGW AE or via escrow.

Just post in advance and Im sure there are people willing to buy BTCD (including me Grin).

Thank you!

Kristov Atlas has briefly mentioned some of BTCD's positive aspects on World Crypto Network recently.  They were quick notes, but it's great to hear us mentioned and even better to have Mr. Atlas supporting BitcoinDark Grin

Anyone keeping large wallets on windows PC's should invest in Symantec Critical System Protection - google it.  Either that or Deep Security through Trend Micro.
Both should be available for 30 days as a trial.
Both seem to be only available to enterprises.
Is there any way an individual can purchase this or keep using trial?
Thanks
