Everybody is hodling for what lies ahead.  Cool

But not buying? If only to take advantage of the 5% discount?
Curious.

The Supernet shares are not available yet, expect an increase in BTCD demand the minute it goed live on Poloniex.

So why not buy at current prices and frontrun the demand?

NXT volume has increased, probably because of it's relative stability.

I'm surprised BTCD hasn't naturally dipped a bit which would be understandable after the rise. Maybe James has developed a magic tradebot.

Exactly. So everyone holding means their waiting for a price increase and will then sell. To many who do this at the same
time......ahem....

Sure there will be volatility, but if BTCD holders were in for a quick profit they would have sold already. It takes balls of tungsten steel to watch your investment grow from 20ksat to current levels and hold. My guess is that the weak hands are out by now and either sit on the sidelines to panic buy at $10 or have their initial investment decimated by selling too soon and having had to buy back higher (at current levels)

Could be anything really:

1. People still unaware of Supernet ICO
2. Whales suppressing the price
3. People still waiting for how the ICO will play out

etc etc

If I have learned one thing in my years of trading is that there is A) No rationality in any market and B) The market cannot be predicted with 100 % accuracy

But in the meantime I am quietly accumulating and holding my BTCD Smiley

I suggest folks stop dealing with Cryptsy.
For the past two weeks there has been a lot of issues there
and I do get the feeling they are more than technical issues.
Ive managed to get everything out of there.

With Cryptsy the secret to a successful BTCD withdrawal is to withdraw small amounts at a time.  Up to 75 BTCD I have had no problem.  300 BTCD = problem.  They probably are staking and are reluctant to let those funds go so they blame it on software malfunction or whatever.   It's kind of a big joke.
It's not kind of a big joke, it's kind of a big scaming. Grin

Just picked up my first couple of BTCD's.  Would like to start a local wallet and open it up for staking.  Noob question here, once I've followed the instructions to start staking do I need to leave the wallet online for it to occur or can it be taken completely offline?
You don't have to have the wallet open in order to stake as your coins accrue "coin age" regardless of whether it is open or not, as long as you do not send or receive any other BTCD to your address.  When you do next open your wallet (and unlock it for staking) your next stake amount will include everything for your coin age.  In other words, you could just open it once a week for a few hours (or until you receive a mined block) and you would receive the same stake amount as you would have done if the wallet was open the entire time.  All up you get around 5% pa from staking, and of course there is the as-yet-unknown income that BTCD holders will get from teleport, anon credit card, SuperNET, etc etc.

Good to know.  So if I decide to pick up a few more coins on Cryptsy or something I should hold them in a separate wallet for staking purposes?  Does adding new coins to a wallet that is currently staking somehow mess with the coin age?

I wouldn't use cryptsy. Lots of issues with them.

Also, I have many issues with them. they are doing petty scam. Cheesy

Is there a potential teleport/supernetwork coin list around? Might be good to make a thread where we can post possible coins to add?
Was thinking paypro might be a good fit. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/pro-payprocoin-643028

ha ha ha
Paypro is One of the biggest scaming in Crypto's world. How can you recommend any garbage for entering the SuperNET. Huh Angry

this is SuperNET , this isn't SuperSitNET.

Just a stupid question  Grin
How do I set a password to lock the windows wallet?
Settings / Encrypt wallet
or File / Sign message ?

Settings / Encrypt wallet

thanks!!!

Something I've been meaning to ask: it has been said that this password should be 'strong' (as, of course, should all passwords, as you already know).
Does that mean 'strong' as in typical password strong, 8 random alphanumeric characters, or 'Strong' as in NXT passphrase 35 random characters?
it is not subject to offline blockchain analysis
unless you are putting your wallet.dat on some Apple storage

Is there anything that can be done with exchanges staking coins.

What exchanges are staking coins?
I don't think it's possible for us to tell who, or even if with any certainty.  But given the network weight it is sensible to assume that they must be.  It's an interesting situation.  In an ideal world the exchanges would stake your coins and then distribute the earnings proportionally back to you.
I suspect CRYPSTY at least you only have to read last week or so of thread....even James can't withdraw.........so I'm terminating them as a trading option........anyway its up to us as individuals to vote with our feet

and move our coins else where. I've got .000013 BTC left there.....Fuck all everything else is withdrawn

Jon

Edit  I had no problems withdrawing as I'm only a very small fish......But I see someone like James getting the royal run around and think......its the only thing I can do to show my support
I've also had issues with cryptsy every time I've tried to withdraw BTCD and even deposit it for that matter (though that was during their wallet upgrade a week ago).  Raising a support ticket usually gets it resolved within a day or two.  I was advised by another user to make a trusted withdraw address, as these are processed more quickly
