The ability to make anonymous purchases using BTC and the anon card both sound like huge breakthroughs in crypto.

If all this groundbreaking tech is delivered, BitcoinDark could displace litecoin.

370791 BTC / 1180000 BTCD =

0.3142 BTC/BTCD

Great things happening here! Wish I had bought more BTCD!
I make no promises about BTCD price, but let me tell you my experience with DRK

I discovered it early, first week it was on polo (and only polo)
scooped up 1%+ of it for cheap
it did ok, but nothing spectacular for a while, then boom! up 10x
so, I started selling cuz 10x is good gain and as DRK kept going up, I kept selling. Now I did make 200+ BTC on <10 BTC I paid, but had I just kept buying more as it went up (to a point of course), I could have made thousands of BTC!

After it went up 10x, it went up another 10x!
My issue with DRK was that it was closed source and even the basic premise of masternode mixing wasnt sounding so strong an algo, so my strategy was not so bad, I just should have waited until a bit more than 10x gain to switch to selling

Now with BTCD, I am very open about progress, roadblocks, mistakes, etc. source code is https://github.com/jl777/pNXT
people have compiled and run it, I am explaining it so not so mystery.

BTCD has gone up 10x, but from silly low price. So the question is not how far has BTCD gone up already, this is meaningless unless you have time machine to go back to get more Smiley

The question is if BTCD belongs in place 27 on coinmarketcap or place 17 or even place 7

This question you must answer for yourself and based on this answer, look at the current market cap of <$2 million and this gives you the future price you are expecting. Discount a bit as always uncertain in this sort of thing and only buy as much BTCD as you can HODL without worrying about crazy roller coaster price games that will arrive here soon.

Many people without time machine, will try to turn you into WH by doing crazy things to the price. That way they will try to get price from the past. I alert this thread when I see such attempts to manipulations. I hope this helps.

I want escalator price increase, no roller coaster. Nobody will be surprised when I deliver and by constant info, the price is reflecting of all the relevant factors discounted by odds of not completion in time, or problems with implementation. This is fine. So people that believe in me and trust that I will come through, they make the most money. People waiting until no tech risk, they make much less.

James

Agreed! Just bought another Bitcoin worth last night at around .0028. Keep up the good work!

Nobody passed up an opportunity to buy in cheap, this coin is similar to NXT, but without big original stakeholders, which are still decreasing the Nxt price. An opportunity to buy in cheap will be valid even after 2-3 months, even when BTCD will be at the top5 cryptos.

I agree salsacz. I think this particular gentlemen must feel this way though. I'm just speculating from his perspective

People are strange. We already have multiple anonymous coin currencys available. Yet people are flocking to this one like its a new feature. Then you have a real world feature like cryptonites mini blockchain, first of its kind and unique, and it gets dumped to the ground. The crypto world confuses me, it all seems to be about the hype.

Edit: ok now looks like btcd is getting a bit of a dump

Congratulations, you're the first one to FUD this thread!  You've clearly not done your research if you think there is nothing fresh and new here.  But..... I guess that's what you guys do.  BTW, we don't have any anonymous coins yet.... we have a lot of coins trying to be anonymous

no anonymous coins? let me just provide you with a few completely anon coins with superior technology, monero, boolberry, fantomcoin, aeon, ducknote.... shal i continue? or do you get the point that your statement is invalid. we already have fully functional anon coins.

and as for being able to teleport BTC, so bitcoindark is more of a tool rather than a currency? so it holds no real value, because its just used as a dummy to make other coins anon? i appreciate the effort but i just don't see anything really innovative here. but it might be just me.

Just read the thread dude!  Better yet, take a look at James' resume first and then read the thread.  If BTCD didn't have anything to offer, you clearly wouldn't be here whining like a spoiled child who missed his bottle.  I think you passed up an opportunity to buy in cheap and now that your cryptonite has crashed, you're blaming anything but yourself for misappropriating your funds.

This will be the last time I acknowledge your presence here, unless you decide to offer something productive.  If you see no innovation, then move on please.  Nobody's forcing you to buy, believe or care about this coin.  We're allowed to have a difference in opinion about btcDark and if we could all approach this with a little maturity, that's where it would end. You win some, you lose some.  So..... while we continue moving upwards, either join the party, or exit stage left.

Peace

Hi James,

Would you mind elaborating or letting know where i can find more information about teleport for other coins (NXT/BTC)?

How would it work? Could you add other second gen coins like Qora into the fix for example?

First the NXT peoples worried that I might die and they would lose a lot of money. Now you.
Well I think if I died, I would not be so happy, so I will do my best to stay alive )

On another note, have you guys checked how fast Bitcoindark is? I just sent some from my wallet to my friends wallet and it was fully confirmed in less than 5 minutes.

Thanks guys! It really helps me to get such positive support, especially when struggling with some tough codings.

I've got the multisig a bit more than halfway in there, actually did the receive handling side first, so now I just need to make the send side do "split into N pieces" and onion route through random nodes. The problem at first is not enough nodes, but i think I can verify the routing is working properly with just the servers I have.

The prior monolithic control flow has been deconstructed into five different event queues, so I can process each one as it progresses through different states. This also makes it much easier to put in error handling for the "half white rabbit" arrived scenarios. Need to get some sleep now, 4 hrs is just not enough to handle difficult codings.

It feels like at long last, this weekend I can finally do a test teleport, but with multisig pieces. After that, is the completely different task of porting privacyServer code right into the BTCD core. This will make every BTCD-qt wallet a privacyServer, but of course a lot of PC's wont be able to even accept incoming TCP or UDP request, so it would only be privacyServer in name and not reality.  However, i think I can make it so that you can use localhost as the privacyServer address and at least it will work for your node. So anybody thinking privacyServer means centralization in spite of my repeating that it is decentralized, will have to explain to me how it can be called centralized when every wallet is running the privacyServer code? maybe its because of the name? it has "server" in it, so people assume it is centralized. Maybe bad choice of name, if that is the case.

Now keep in mind if you are running privacyServer on PC using localhost, it cannot protect your IP address! So while it should work, the hub and spoke model for privacyServers on VPS is still very much required for higher privacy levels.

So the plan is during the port of the privacyServer code into BTCD core, I will add the extra onion layer, finish up the hub synchronization and a bunch of other stuff I have ignored. So the lost few days from adding multisig will probably make me miss my mid-August deadline by a bit, but if things go well, the porting into BTCD side could happen in a week, just cant guarantee it as it is not my code I am porting into. It is also in C++, which is not C, so I have to go really slowly.

Here is the short term "roadmap":

1. finish coding send side of teleport
2. debug basic operations
3. get simple "white rabbit" test working
4. port privacyServer into BTCD core while finishing last pieces
5. debug teleporting with local privacyServer and then external privacyServer
6. add API calls so GUI can invoke all this cool stuff
7. take a day off

Then we can start to test, first via command line, then when GUI's start arriving, with end user testing. After a week or so, most obvious bugs should be found and I am pretty fast at fixing them, so at that point we can hire a place that does a lot of software testing to really pound on it.

While all this testing is going on, I will be able to add support for BTC and NXT teleporting, so by the end of the month we could well have the core BTCD teleporting very well tested and BTC and NXT teleporting added into a release candidate. While all these changes seem like it must cause a hardfork, it turns out I dont think it will do that as all this teleporting is off blockchain and works independently (like in another dimension) so any forking would only be from other changes to BTCD core. What this means is that I think as soon as we feel good about how the teleporting is working, we can go mainnet with the caution that it is still in beta.

We then setup the auxiliary things that are needed, like faucets, public telepod creators, etc. The more formal darkpaper review and Chinese translation should arrive along with the coinomat anon card, so by second week in September, if all goes well, all this is live on mainnet. Of course, I skipped over the GUI in all this as I am not GUI guy so I cannot do much to ensure it is ready.

So, while I cannot guarantee exact completion dates, I can provide regular detailed status so you can see what is left to do, where things get stuck, etc. Now the moment the white rabbit test works, the rest is just ordinary coding and debugging and all the mystery about whether Teleport will really work will be answered. I am just thinking the time to get GUI done will be the bottleneck in all this...

First of all, congratulations on being the first in this thread to spread FUD.

You assumptions however are ill informed. BitcoinDark does not aim to be "another anon coin" It will provide a functionality called Teleport which is new. It will eventually enable all cryptocurrencies to be sent anonymously, even Bitcoin (BTC) itsels. You have to see BitcoinDark as the platform, not just as a coin. Those who hold BTCD are holders of stock in the BTCD platform, as oppposed to just holding "coins"

Anonymity is really "another feature" that BTCD provides, you should look at the BTCD anon card, Instadex, Private Sports betting etcetera.

We welcome civilized discussion, but the spreading of FUD will not either be succesful or approved.

You know that there are so much more than anonymity? Btcd don't try to ride with anon, just using it as one essential part to enable wider usability. And yes please point out other coin that can anonymize btc transactions.

I advice you to read resent pages to get a proper view what btcd actually are trying to achieve.

Haha, looks like we're on the same frequency here MuFaza.  Nicely done!
