Good morning everyone. I received a response from Douglas McMahon, Senior Managing Director of tavistock (of which Joe Lewis is Chair of).

Quote
Could you confirm recent rumors, or that Joe Lewis has an interest into Bitcoin?

No interest at all. WSJ is not true.

I don't understand how a CEO can post their business plan in a poor chart like this one.

Let's assume for a second that the VC investment in Avalon is true.

Wouldn't that mean that BTCGARDEN is worth more, not less?  The panic selling only makes sense if the company isn't well positioned.  Of the companies competing in this space, Asicminer has the best shot at competing due to their current market position/experience and capital.  They however are already highly valued and investment in them at the current time has a limited upside.

BTCGARDEN I believe are next in line of those companies able to realistically compete in a meaningful way.  Now that they've raised the 3 million from the IPO, there really isn't anything in their way in delivering on their plan.  The upside for us of course is that there is a huge potential upside from the current value.

After all, any one company can only control ~35%-~40% or it becomes self defeating.

Thoughts?

No preorder obligations, plenty of funding, and solid business plan. Hands down the best chance of success.

yeah, I agree 100%

I bought back in this morning

Thanks for the update, aiwell.

Infos of our 1st-batch with 12+300(Engineering Sample &Mass Production) wafers: 312 wafers * 2000chips/wafer*400MH/chip = 249TH/s ,any overclock will let the estimate even higher.

We have received our sample-PCB and it is being tested in every aspect. Everything s running well so far. ( Mass production of PCBs will start later and can be finished within one week in Shenzhen)
We also dealed with an acquaintances packaging factory to shorten the Package period from 10days to 3days. I.E. we will get our chips in hand only 3-4 days later after out of  Fab.

this is not the final price since it is based on the shippment from this Aug. most likely our products will be cheaper than this.

I would love to see some pictures of those sample boards, too! Smiley

Anyway. Can you give an estimate when the first batch will arrive and starts to mine?

I am confused, I thought BTC-Garden was still selling IPO shares (That all the IPO still remains unfulfilled) however I am seeing many shares being sold below the IPO price. If people are already selling below IPO does this mean BTC-Garden will have a tough time selling more IPO shares?

Avalon just got 200 Million in funding to produce 20nm chips.  I'll let you infer what that means.

Thanks for spreading a confirmed fake news.

People assumed it was fake and was in reference to the 2011 article about the Avalon VC funding round.  Since then the WSJ published a more in depth article that does not look like it is fake.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=268180.0;topicseen

If you want to keep your head in the sand, that's up to you.

I'm keeping my substantial btcgarden investment as I feel they are the best positioned to compete in the new market.  It's up to you to decide what to do with your investment.

Hello everyone...er... Hello every shareholder,

1  About that "big news" regards to Avalon:

1  From a thread at btcman.com that was posted by a ID called "gridchip" last month, we (incl. all btcman`s members) can sure that Avalon team do have a big discord inside. It was written in chinese and need to register&login to read ,so I d prefer not giving the link here (all chinese shareholders can find it at "比特币挖矿区" board) However, I hardly believe the rest of this news is real.

2  We have created a Mathematical Model for our future strategy , which shows that we can easily make money with our 1st gen chips before the whole network reach to 4000TH, in addition, both cost saving and rate-raising could make this Number even higher and therefore prolonging the duration of service life of our 130nm chips, furthermore, we will be seeing our 40nm at the end of 2013. The MM is still being adjusted and several Complex variables will be added on later, I d like to give out a screenshot of it:

2  I ll upload the photos of PCB & the "big review meeting" in Saturday , while all members of our team will be in Beijing.

I knew $200 million seemed a little far fetched for a Bitcoin mining investment.  You could cure a disease with that amount of money...
$200M...isn't that much.

Yesterday this had 7/0 votes but today it's 6/0 - what gives?

Great spot and question. Someone withdrew their yes vote?

We're now down to 5/0 votes. I bailed for a small profit at 0.01655 yesterday (made 0.5 BTC on a 21 and change BTC investment).

These vote removal questions have been entirely ignored. Can either Burnside or BTC Garden rep or the people who removed their vote please comment.

Why is there a question at all? votes fluctuate all the time due to people trading LTC-GLOBAL shares. The only thing to watch for is whether there are negative votes, which means somebody might know something bad or have reason to believe there's something bad going on.

The competition is going to get lot tougher with the likes of  ActiveMining's 28 nm Miners and articles like this:

http://bitcoinexaminer.org/avalon-might-be-getting-a-200-million-investment-and-20nm-technology-to-become-the-leader-of-the-mining-market/
Will BTCGARDEN be able to keep pace? Huh
Wrong Avalon... whoever wrote that article is full of shit.

We're now down to 5/0 votes.

This was kinda addressed, but I don't recall from whom and if it was related to your request: when the number of held LTC-GLOBAL shares drops below 10 moderator previleges vanish as well as related votes.
