Isn't it too late to do that temporary roll back or whatever?
That means it is too late for NXT as well. I wonder what the hacker will do, manipulate the market or sell off.

LaudaM, you love to spread your shit all over the forum. I didnt read yet any comment from you that shows a minimum of intelligence.

Although you know that the hacker gave back most of the NXT to Bter, you continue spreading FUD and lies.... Roll Eyes

How much did they give back? I heard they got back the 5 million. Anything else did they get back?

the hacker gave back 42M of the 50M NXT to BTER in exchange for 330btc(440btc total) that was given by BTER.

Hacker left before the last 8M NXT was given back, but that won't hurt NXT anywhere near as the 45M NXT that was stolen.

Hacker "thesir" stated he believed in NXT and would hold it at least a year, before thinking of selling.

@Taunsew...I have no ideas on that Burglin/Polish dude lead.
I have a feeling it's not the guy, but I haven't been involved.
Looks like this lead is on the basis of domain registration.....seems thin, but anythings possible

So how was the name Burglin attained?  Tineye / Google Image?  Search the email on Facebook / Twitter.  Did you send him a phishing
link and his computer's name was Burglin?

IIRC - the only reason people were able to get Bluemeanie's residence address was because he posted that information himself on some other website and tineye found his image there, IIRC.  That being said, the "internet commandos" / "keyboard tough guys" still haven't gone to Arizona to beat him up like they implied they would.   Grin

Or maybe he'll just give most of the stolen NXT back after a deal with BTER...you never know. Shocked

@Taunsew.....it's a good story:
BTER gets hacked, 50 million NXT get snaffled (and some BTC, thief went for the good stuff  Grin)
hostage negotiations, panic, NXT community tempted by quick fix rollback, NXT community takes the hard road and chooses to stay on the main chain, BTER finally negotiate a deal and most of the NXT are returned. Everyone happy, mostly.

We're gonna make a movie one day....and I haven't even mentioned the offer of buttsex or me being a plonker yet.

I don't know why NXT people are saying this is good publicity.  The story has already been dropped off the top page of Coindesk and Cointelegraph (you have to scroll down to find it), unlike MtGox which was there for months and was on international television, magazines and newspapers around the world.  At best the only people who know this story are hardcore crypto enthusiasts and they made up their minds about NXT months ago.

By the way NXT won't fail anytime soon as they have a dedicated following, some of whom only became millionaires due to NXT, so they have no problem in performing bail outs of their own coin when the price goes too low.  Only way for NXT to fail would be for its' whales to abandon ship.

The same could be said about other coins where there's a self-regulated environment where whales play the equivalent of the US Federal Reserve and launch bail outs if the price falls too low for their liking.

When will the Keynesian bubble pop in the alternates?

There's very few millionaires from NXT. I own > 10 million NXT and I am not a millionaire. I think there's only about 10 people with more NXT than me.

I cant understand why bter had so many coins there, why users keep almost all their stash in the exchanges ? Are they aware that their coin is just a pump and dump and want to have then ready to sell or what??

Im guessing because bter gives interest on coins including NXT. It's like a crypto bank.

The government needs help to prop up the central banking debt system again. Why not do a bail in style thing and create extra BTC to help them. Or just confiscate a little BTC from everyone. Can you do a roll back?

But Cyrpto does need some protection from hackers. The masses will never adopt it fully until they feel there money is safe. And no matter how much you explain how much safer it is than at the mercy of institutions people just won't believe it. Because lets face it, People are generally morons.

Crypto community must be ready for the time (2015 looks very probable as a start) when bank bail-ins start happening on a big scale (Cyprus was the early bird) and to offer people alternatives in the form of cryptos, emphasizing that cryptos are decentralized and are a safe haven against bail-ins. That's one of most likely reasons the adoption can quicken pace. Not by everyone. Many people will take a 'haircut' of their deposits in the bank and hope it will not happen again, till the next 'haircut' and so on, until their entire savings are nullified.

A good deal for BTER. 42M NXT worth around 1.3M dollars and 440 BTC only worth around 220k dollars.

Still, won't it be cheaper to convince NXT developers to rollback the transaction and threaten to pass the cost back NXT investors?

No...it wouldn't... You can't rollback the blockchain every time someone drops the ball on a big pile of NXT.
We're playing by big boy rules now.

Big boy rules means bankers and Currency gets bailed.

Ok, big boy crypto rules......much more integrity than the average bankster.

Wink I hear ya
