Now I challenge someone to use bter again (if it will re-open), or better " to keep your coins on an exchange" and that exchange doesn't use multiSig for his cold wallet.
It seems (not probable) that the exchange will not reopen, what do you think guys ?

I asked BTER to provide proof they went to the police to file a complaint but my mails went unanswered, I suggest we all send them tweets (https://twitter.com/btercom) or write them e-mails to provide such information ([email protected]).

'Cold wallet hack' is likely just code for 'we got lazy and didn't secure our BTC properly'. Could be an inside job, of course, but all the other exchanges getting hit? Looks like a coordinated attack.

They will might open only for withdrawals. The exchange is finished as of now. I assume they will likely allow some investment from VCs and restart later.

i have a feeling if they open up to withdraw alts everyone is going to withdraw asap which I suspect will spell the end of BTER
You'd think so, wouldn't you?
But something tells me that some people will still trust them enough to trade there, and keep their coins there.
BTER's like a cat. 9 lives. We'll see if this was the 9th or not.
They will open only for withdrawals. The exchange is finished as of now. I assume they will likely allow some investment from VCs and restart later.

Since the old thread was deleted where i asked that question. Can you give me the source that has such infos first? I mean online newspapers or newsgroups or something like that. It would be worth observing them.

The reddit is bter specific and the article seems to be a blog. Might be that he brought it first but what i want to know even more if the blog is a source for such infos that is worth observing because they bring such news FIRST.
To be exact, i would like to have one or more website that i can observe in order to get such news as one of the first. Not only this one but all kind of news that might crash the bitcoin price.

The are considering to sell the exchange? For me that implies some bad news.
Also, how are they going to sell bter but not their debts? Sounds like they want to cover their losses

I still not sure that it is not just a usual scam like mintpal and owners just not gonna run with all money.

If they will show reasonable plan for compensate btc lose, even if it will take year or two, if they will show that they increased security, if it will be proven that it was real hack due to lack of security like not keeping cold wallet offline(things which can be learned and fixed), but not inside thiefing.. I could continue trading on bter.. Sure them volume will drop, but if they will work on it they could return traders..But it is all senseless to talk untile they not even start to return single doge coin :| I still not sure that it is not just a usual scam like mintpal and owners just not gonna run with all money.
