Unfortunately bitcoin makes sure that you may end up losing in both sides of the market. That does come with the fact that you can make money with both sides as well of course, doesn't mean people always lose money, in fact that are as many profits in the market as the losses except the fee's that are involved. So, you can make profit for both sides if you know what you are doing.

However, a bull market is of course easier to make money because you can both make money on altcoins as well if they are on bull, shorts are not really a thing on many altcoins just yet, plus you can directly just buy and hold the thing on your own wallet when its increasing, shorts are done via third party organizations which takes away ownership from you and gives you a credit for it until you withdraw.

It's possible to make profits and also lose out in any of the two periods in the market, the bull market is what every trader wants, but the market is not always bullish, so it's up to you to learn how to make profits in a bear market, since it's very possible to do so too. As a trader you cannot keep waiting for either of the two periods in which you feel you are likely to make more money, you must be able to utilize the both of them to your advantage, and the only way to do so is to learn how to trade in both a bull or bear market.
Actually during a bull market everyone is happy as the price goes up and if even you buy bitcoins/cryptos at current price the price will go up during the bull market so it's easier for everyone to make profits.

During a bearish market, the basic formula is to make sure to buy the bitcoins when the bear market is about to reach its sunset value, basically consider a parabola when there is a rise I call it as sunrise and that is the best time to sell bitcoins and as parabola ends the market is best time to buy bitcoins.

You just have to find the peak values and play around it.

There is a bull and bear market. In which market is it hypothetically possible to make more money? In which of these two markets do people usually make a profit? And how to determine the beginning and end of one of the markets?

Anyone has difficulty in determining the end  of every season so it will be difficult for you to get a better response here.

But bull run will surely run for more than a year and bear is almost the same. Only their beginnings can be determined easily like the bull run, it usually starts once the market are full of green and bear once the market will start to be red. You can also refer to the charts so you can check whether the prices are starting to move downward or upward.

Usually a number of people make profits from the bull runs as the prices keeps on growing in such kind of markets. Bear markets are never an option to earn profits for spot traders. Usually what we could understand from trading is to buy low and sell high which would exactly be the situation in the bull runs but as compared in bear markets, we might need to sell high first and then buy low to gain profits which even is possible only because of the leverage or futures trading.

It might be a bit difficult to understand if you are a newbie who recently started with the markets so spot trading would be the best option for you which would only give you profits in the bull runs.

I find it hard to believe the comparison of profit in bull and bear. I learnt some people enjoy the bear market maybe from the shorting the gain on some coins but I believe the profit in the bull will call attention of your bank managers. Strategies are different for each market but whales and large volume traders pitch with long term trade. i hope to adopt such strategy if I got good profit from next bull run, if the run was really parabolic. Shorting in bull run can be regretting or dangerous, some coins will get out of reach in price with pump and traders may miss out from the height of price at bull.

Some may look at it that it is always the bull where traders do win.
Not at all.
They also need the bear market. There is always a selling point. Now the entry is point is the bear market.
But finding the right time is the difficult part.
A coin could fall way down to unexpected and if there is no more hype that is happening it could be left there for a long time.
Much better to stay with the volatile types.

Making profit can’t be dependent to the trend of the market because the profit of a trader will depend on how they execute their trend at any market situation. Some good trader make a lot of profit during the bear trend, and some also make money during the bull. Analyzing the chart can be useful and by this you can know the start and the end of the trend, trading is hard without knowledge so better to build your confidence and knowledge in trading.

It depends or vary on what a certain trader been engage on.If he do make some margin/options then either way would really be a profitable one if he do knows on what hes doing

but if you are a type of trader which do make use of buy low and sell high then bull market would be the best time on making money. It will just vary if you do able to get in while
its cheap or do miss out opportunity.

Market moves either up and down. There are several ways on making money and this is what most do target on.

Let me make it clear first for new comers.

1- A bull market - Price goes up
2- A bear market - price does down

Now, coming back to your question, who makes profit in which scenario? A good trader actually makes profit/small-loss in both situations as they tend to predict the price of bitcoins before it follows the trend. If you just know when to invest and divest, that sounds simple but everything lies in it.

It is quite risky to do margin trading tho, even with zero leverage and just shorting with 1x, its really not guaranteed when it will go down or when it will go up, so even with the option of possibility to profit from the both sides, its still unsure if one person knows where it is going.

Can you really provide any proof that it will go up or down in the future? I know I can't and if you can provide a proof believe me people would be paying you millions of dollars to get information from you to figure out what it will do, but nobody can do it 100% of the time, the good traders do it in most of the times and profit more often than they lose, yet there is not a single person who doesn't lose at all. Shorting just gives you ability to do more but not better.

I guess there will be many trader who will avoid to trade the bear market. They will choose hold their asset on money fiat and comeback again when the sentiment market is going again. Like this time, I believe there will be many traders who start to trade again, you can see the volume of the market right now.

So, to answer your question is bull market who will give you much profit. To know, when the market condition will end (between bear and bull) you will know by yourself when you get used to this market. Yeah, you need this thing by yourself, because if I tell you what I'm understand you won't be understood it easily.

You can make money on both the bull and bear market. The only difference between the two is that in the bull market the prices are very volatile and would require you to get in front of your monitor time by time.
Bear markets can be quite volatile as well depending on the stage of the bear market---the last part is always accompanied by low volatility due to the tightening range but that at the same time might be an excellent entry point.

The same can apply to bull markets whenever we hover below the all time high---the bull markets with insane volatility are those where the all time highs have been broken already (ie: 2013 and 2017 bull markets) with no resistance left.

Overall, volatility is quite subjective because your definition of high volatility might not align with mine or the rest of this forum. I find 5-10% moves quite volatile while others might consider these moves a joke.

There is a bull and bear market. In which market is it hypothetically possible to make more money?
Can't it be both? Why would you want to divide the two?
You can make profit at the bear and bull market. If you know when will it happen.
I think that is the real question here.

And how to determine the beginning and end of one of the markets?
If only we could determine it then there will be no loser on trading.
But with that, there will be no exchange to provide the service.

To conclude it, all is unknown when we have a volatile market.
You make your own predictions then define it as a bull or a bear.
I just want to debate on this. We could determine whether the market would move in the bullish trend or bearish trend.

There are a number of patterns and indicators which make it a bit understand the movement of the markets. Also if we could comply several graphs of the same coin but in different intervals like 1 Day, 1 Hour, 30 Minutes, 5 Minutes and 1 Minute than we could predict the further movement of direction of the graph. We just need to acquire immense knowledge before we could do so.

Moreover, we need to find our own specific strategies which would make it more easier for us to understand the graphs. One of the most common strategy which is use to predict the future movement of the graph is whenever there is a dump or pump in the initial stage when the markets are running stable than the further price always moves in the opposite direction of the pump or dump. This is for my own research. You could experience this in next price movements and try to get much closer to it

In short, the game in the bull market is really intense. One of the bull market's difference is that you would mostly risk a bigger price. I know the decimals aren't really the things but technically, you are spending your money equals a higher price. Nevertheless, probably if you are looking for a game that will make you intensely active, you may consider the bull market.

Basically you could make money on both condition but usually people don't make much move (buy and sell) in the bear market so the profit you would get will be less than in bull market.

And about how to determine, usually people use technical analysis to determine when the bull market should start but for me it is more when people start buying and create green candles for most coins, or at least when there are huge buy supports for most coins which show the interest of traders for the coins in the market

Have you ever heard about Margin Trading?
You can even gain profits from both of bear and bull market. You can actually determined profitable trends when you know how to read technical analysis. But that's a bit complicated so if you are not that knowledgeable about margin trading, the best to gain money is by doing some long trades. If the market is in bear, then you buy btc and other coins and wait for the bull market. That's the basic.

The answer is just like the formula buy low sell high meaning we only can get profit in up trend ( bull ), in this part I also want you to understand crypto is different with currency be careful with the market works. To determine begin and end is by using indicator, most of the tools using number and cross line as sign to enter and out. Try to use small amount of your money and learn market works in exchanges you trust, experience will give you good teacher to face market in every situation without panic.

You need to gain some knowledge about how the graphs world first so that you might be than able to determine the exact pumps and dumps. There are some patterns which makes understanding charts more easier and you should initially try to learn those charts. There is not much difficulty in learning those charts and even they would prove most useful for you in the coming future.

How I trade in bear as well as bull markets is by leverage trading, I never need to worry about the direction of the market if I a with leverage trading as even in the bear markets I can find myself benefits by shorting the trade and vice-versa in bull runs by longing the trade. But for it, you need to have some at least basic information about the charts and patterns.

In my opinion the bull market is easier to make profit when trading. Because I am with daily trades, i can easily do scalping strategy.
Taking a daily profit of 3%, it is enough to make a lot of money. But if we are in the bear market it will be difficult to generate profits,
because price movements will drop dramatically, making it difficult for us to determine  the purchase price. So when the bear market
is very effective used long-term trading.
