I just wanted to confirm that I managed to stumble across 2 address that at one time had coins, one as recently as Feb 15, 2015. However the wallet was emptied, activity seemed to indicate that it was a type of address used as an exchange of some sort. Sadly, there were no clams funded to that address either, so it was a dud.
(edit: the above search took about 4 hours of searching. Not bad considering the math seemed to say otherwise...)

We have found a few old empty addresses as well in our hunt. I know of a good hand full of use who have stumped math thus far... the big accomplishment will be signing a address that actually has coins!
I don't intend on withdrawing their coins personally right off the bat. I'm going to make a public announcement that a Private Key has been uncovered and the owner has 30 days to move the coins.
Keep on fighting the good fight and maybe you will find one

Because lets be real, blind luck does exist. Is it probable to find something ? Most likely not, but spending 15 min a day looking at it for shts n giggles doesnt really hurt either
15mins a day trying doesnt really hurt + you have the chance of getting big amount of bitcoins

I think people dont really understand the enormity of the issue at hand.. so here is a bit of something for you.
so there are a total of 2^160 valid bitcoin addresses....
Using a very rough estimate, there is about 10 trillion galaxies in the universe
Each galaxy can be said to have an average of 100 billion stars
If one was to assume that each solar system had intelligent life in it using bitcoin...
You can assign up to 1.46 Trillion Trillion (no that is NOT a typo!) addresses per solar system
so there are a total of 2^160 valid bitcoin addresses....

What is the difference of Address and Compressed Address?
They are just two different ways of deriving an address from a private key.
Each 256 bit private key provides access to two different independent Bitcoin addresses depending on whether you use the compressed format or not.
Basically for each private key you need to check both addresses to really know whether it is funded at all.

I think so .Thats why you have the private key. So you will be able to access the funds.
Cross that bridge when you get there
