You sold your site to Butterfly Labs, who bought it so they could get rid of some critical reviews. Perhaps you got ripped off, but buttcoin.org is now Butterfly Labs, and they make a living.

Strong disagree about it being a rip of your logo as well.

It'd be really cool if we could all come to one agreement on what the Buttcoin logo is and then not fight about it.  All it hurts is the small Buttcoin community when people bicker over silly shit like this!

directory.io (and buttcoins.com) lists *every* Bitcoin private key. So it's not at all true to say that it doesn't list any existing Bitcoin private keys. In fact it lists all of them. And it isn't true to say that they're all empty either. Every funded private key is listed. It's just that there are lots more empty ones than funded ones.

I just found one of my private keys on buttcoins.com. It's on page 22819940191606639116975694561815449148405524752991894461049828182848439406xx

Fill in the two missing digits and steal my coins.

Our shape is no where near the same, the filling colors are no where near the same and both imagines are orange inspired by Bitcoin.

I fail to see the shameless rip. other than the top one is a lot clearer more defined and a hell of a lot more sexy.

I've used the word Buttcoin is some form of another since June 2011. I don't have a claim to a pun or even the domain however, that's not my problem with the site.


I'm not sure you understand how copyright images work. You can't just claim you "found it" and therefore there's no claim to copyright.

And I would agree with you if you weren't blatently taking the images from the site I own and the subreddit I created. You literally just did a google image search for "buttcoin", grabbed my images, ran them through mspaint a bit and claimed them as your own.

If you had buttcoins.com with an original design then I would have no problems. But the fact that you have buttcoins.com AND are using my images is a problem. Using my images send the message that I have something to do with Buttcoins.com which I do not. Remove my images and there's no issue, continue to run your site as you see fit.


I'm just upset with the theft of my work. I don't want to go down the DMCA road but will if I have to. It wouldn't be my first time and probably wouldn't by my last.

Just change your infringing images and enjoy your clever domain. No crying from me, just do what's right.

The addresses are all generated on the fly against whatever page number you are looking at.

You will see there are tons and tons of pages, so the chances are very slim to say the least

Stealing/use your name?  Not sure what you mean... the url "Buttcoins.com" I bought it... You don't own the word Buttcoins. We have tons of Buttcoins minted in the JD chat.

Your favicon... the only thing I grabbed from the reddit is the Giggly butt thing in the reserve post.  The picture of the Buttcoins filling up from the butt pushing them out came out of JD.  Our picture of a butt on the site is a different picture of a butt than you use too.   We don't like the Skinny Butt route... that mofo needs some MEAT on it Feel free to use it!

My site is not aimed to be anywhere in the same ball field as Buttcoins.org or ButtcoinFoundation.. Right now I'm nothing like your gay blogs. Buttcoins.com 0 to do with blogs ect.  We are focused on developing "Cloud Wiping" which is a poke at Cloud Mining that might actually be semi interesting.

You seem pretty up set over some Buttcoins rofl.  Send a DMCA is all I can say and then maybe cry about it... that may make you feel better.

Mtgox couldn't stop people from using the Bitcoin logo either, so why not try to let the Buttcoiners have something similar?
