For me, Facebook releasing their own altcoin after being so hostile to Bitcoin, is meh. Even within altcoins, they'll have a hard time. But good luck to them, everyone is entitled to try, not that everyone will necessarily succeed...

It's a positive news about crypto-currency, since Facebook want to create their own coin. I believe they will try to create stable coin in order to use on their platform. But I am not sure how will it stable if listed multiple best exchange. Because people's will encourage to invest on FB coin then price might go up. However they are supporting crypto-currency directly by create new coin. There will another chance use their platform to promote crypto-currency.

Same. This is pretty much the only good thing I could see about it that could positively affect the cryptocurrency space. It just sort of gives cryptocurrencies more sort of "legitimacy". If this gains enough media attention, hopefully people would be like among the lines of: "I thought cryptocurrencies were scams like X said? But why does Facebook have one? Must be legit".

Facebook founder has mastered the art of quickly identifying key economic areas and decisions that will boost its wealth and if wechat works, then maybe a crypto for Facebook or WhatsApp will certainly work
That is nice to know but my daught still remains that Facebook will support cryptocurrency because uptil now Facebook have not supported cryptocurrency ad on their platform, and I believe Facebook creating they own coin can only be used on their platform and nor as a currency just like iTunes and the rest. But let keep hoping this development will turn out positively.
