The whole ICO platform pizza needs to be divided by so many platforms, not sure if I see eth keep its dominance much longer. I like eth, but once projects can just as easily choose platforms like NEO, EOS, Stratis, Vechain, Icon, Stellar etc...with perhaps certain benefits for each project....the only reason why eth should be worth a lot is because of it's 2nd use as a fiat pair at all exchanges...but even that will change sooner or later, as many other new fiat pairs are on its way.
And also, 2018/2019 should be the year of mainnets....so many current projects still on the eth platform will move off to their own blockchain....

Yes, I do believe that holding Eth for a long time will bring you fortune because I consider it to be mini version of bitcoin. But since you do believe in it, it is quite sure that you will gain benefit out of it because once you believe in something and you are positive about it, knowing for sure that it prosper in the future, will make that coin succeeds. Yes, Ether seems to be very stable from now on. It will most likely not lose if it starts at $ 400. But it seems also no longer provides considerable growth.
