Oh, and a special fuck you to the folks at NCIX who sold me all these fucking defective cards and refused to replace them. Fucking go crawl in an oven you fucking Jews!

you should be permanently banned for that horrendously racist comment you pathetic POS!  here's hoping you get ripped off a lot more in coming years, since that's exactly what a sorry excuse for a human being like you deserves.

I for one liked his jew reference

What a surprise, you sound just as bright as him. Fortunately your specie is dwindling but frankly if you could go and crawl back under that rock, we would be most grateful.

I have 10 rx 470 4Gb nitro+ sapphire. Some of them have bad basic quality (60%, better than 1.5% of similar GPU's) and they run at 29.5Mhash stable because they have samsung memory.
So i would say that the real problem in my GPU's is the memory, GPU's with Heriox memory are shitty and i cannot run the higher than 27.5Mhash even though they have high ASIC quality.

I for the life of me cannot get any of my 470s flashed because Atiflash says it can't read my memory, after doing research on this, I found a way to troubleshoot it was to set the pcie speed to gen 1 or 2 in the bios but in the bios of my gigabyte x79 I see no such option. Anyone have any advice? I've got four 470s and they're all running at 14-20Mh/s  Undecided

Gas yourself kike, nobody deserves to be ripped off.

No one likes getting jewed.

At least in the states we have newegg, amazon etc and they all take back defective hardware.  The manufacturers tell us in the first 30 days to return it back to the retailer instead of rma.

I have 24 of the MSI 470s and they are my favorites, I actually prefer them over the Sapphire 480/8GB variants which I have as well.

My latest batch of MSI 470s (4GB) have Samsung memory.  You didn't take the 1500 strap and copy it up and expect it to clock at 2k on Samsung memory did you?

On my MSI 470s with Samsung VRAM I copied the 1750 strap to the 2000 range and I am running them at 1150/2100 and I am getting 29.3Mh/s out of them rock stable.

Yeah, I am in a very similar boat having good experiences with MSI 470 4GB GPUs. I actually own 15 of them and they've been churning on ETH + DCR for almost 2 months straight with little to no issues, so was very surprised to hear of others having issues with them.

About 10 of mine have Hynix memory and the rest (newer ones) have Samsung.  Note that to strap the Samsungs, you actually need to copy the 1750 timings upwards, unlike the Hynix which need the 1500 timings copied.  Almost all of my 15 are capable of 2000 or close to it, with the exception of 1 that I usually don't try to push over 1850. So... 1 kinda bad one out of 15 I don't consider bad at all.  Hopefully there is not an issue with brand new ones as I have 7 that just arrived this week from Jet & MicroCenter.  Luckily I got these for about $160 avg cost/card because now there is a rather bad shortage of these GPUs... hard to find under $230 now... if you can find them at all.  Jet is out and MC only available for in-store pickup, but only $185 there so probably worth it if you are close to a store since that seems to be the cheapest available by far anywhere that I've seen.

hmm i  messed up then. have a powercolor 470 4 gb  red devil dragon single fan 470 with samsung mem. copied the 1500 strap up (oops) and run it at 1300/1850 for 26.5 mhs. mining eth.

gonna redo it with the 1750 strap and run the mem up to 2000 or so and see what happens.

Dont waste your time.  You wont be happy with the performance if you copy 1750 straps on a 470 4gb.... I've tried it... gives like 24mhs.  Only 1750 straps if you have 480s and overclocking like 2250+.

Read the entire post, which you just quoted.....

You can't treat Hynix memory and Samsung memory the same.  RX 470s 4GB are available with both, I actually own MSI RX 470 4GBs with both.  You cannot use 1500 straps on Samsung memory and expect to run at 2000+ as the factory timings are much tighter on Samsung memory.  My MSI RX 470/4GB with Samsung memory easily achieve 29.3Mh/s at 1150/2100.

For Hynix based cards, use the 1500 strap, for Samsung based cards use the 1750 strap.

I have a mix of the MSI Armor cards and it's usually hit or miss if they will come with Hynix or Samsung memory (although my last few orders have been all Samsung). Anyway, what rjg says is correct about the Samsung doing better by using the 1750 straps, its the Hynix where you need to copy the 1500 strap.

As far as quality, I have several and have yet to encounter a bad card. I am fairly conservative with my overclocks however, and prefer to focus more on reducing power consumption so that my play into it.

I got two MSI RX 480 4GB cards and in less than a week now the garbage RAM they used is fried on both cards within hours of each other. The 8GB cards with Samsung RAM are all ok so far.

I had my RX480 8GB cards experience some kind of failure today. I'm still able to run them with the amdgpu-pro drivers under linux but they're fucked under Windows,  crashing, freezing and flickering black triangles. I noticed the cards ran faster under Windows I guess whatever feature was being used is now fried.

Fuck you MSI.

Wait... so you've managed to kill numerous 4GB and 8GB cards in just a few weeks?
Sounds like the problem is with you, not the cards.

Whatever you guys do stay away from the R9 Furys. We had an actual failure rate of 14% on a deployment of almost 2000 of them.

So I did the RMA and now I've got no money, no hardware and a promise to call me in "two weeks". At least Black Arrow promised me "next week" (Its been over three years now) when I made my ASIC pre-order.

You are the first one in this forum with all those problem.
Maybe someone put a curse on you, I do not have a better explanation  Grin

First one? LOL Black Arrow fucked all their customers and as you can see here MSI is shipping worthless paperweights to paying customers.

Guess what , not only MSI rx series dies for no obvious reason, one of my MSI 1070 gaming X just blew on me , nothing extraordinary OC wise , +100 core , +250 mem , temps kept not higher than 70c at all times. Was running for around 3 months.

If you haven't done anything strange simply bring it back to the seller

well, scrapped the 1500 straps at 1850 for 26 mhs and went to the 1750 straps @ 2100 and got me 28.8 - 29.1 mhs. 1150/2100 -75mv. so no complaints here. samsung memory, 4 gb 470. stock was 23 mhs. @rjg, @christian088, thanks for the info on that, netted me a few more mhs Smiley

@dallas, what memory did your 470 have?
