yeah apart from you buy drugs or not, bitcoin is a payment method that good for you, because it provides convenience and privacy to you, so no wonder there are many people using bitcoin for illegal activities

I don't consume any drug but alcohol (socially). However, I have knowledge that buyers can buy any kind of drug trustfully and anonymously thanks to bitcoin (whether in legal or illegal markets).

You do not need to worry over that, because it is already a lot know that the greatest strength of the growth of the bitcoin is an illegal activity carried out by those who are just looking for the profits for themselves and the group. But it all was not the beginning of the destruction of the bitcoin for bitcoin will still exist and will grow more in the virtual world. Everything will definitely switch to using bitcoin system because they do are very profitable

The illegality of certain goods are open to debate. The government has no right to ban substances such as Marijuana and alcohol (which is banned in certain Muslim majority nations). The government has no right to interfere in my personal life. If I want to use Marijuana, then I have the right to do so. I am an educated person, and I fully understand the repercussions of my actions. So the government should stay the fu*k out of my life.

I think Bitcoin have both downside and benefit on these matters. Delicate people would think twice in using or utilizing bitcoins because of lack of proper understanding/information. My mom thought I'm doing drugs because I told her about cryptocurrencies and she have watched the documentary of deepweb. The benefit here is publicity.

We need to focus more on the positive things that are being done with Bitcoin, but denying the negative and criminal stuff won't do us any good.
People should indeed focus on their own things instead of thinking about what other people may or may not do with Bitcoin. Never blame the tool for the things that people do with it. For example, there are people blaming Bitcoin for their gambling addiction. Do they also blame fiat when they lose when gambling away thousands of dollars? No. Then why should Bitcoin be blamed for their actions? People are really weird.

Well, for a normal people who lived right now buying drugs is not a good to try neither to think of it too. Though most member said here never try to use bitcoin as payment in any aspect of all illegal transactions ever!
To use bitcoin in legal place is such a chalenge, becouse so many people were use it in illegal think like buy drugs. They change their dollar, euro or yen to bitcoin for making transaction wich out range of law. I suggest to bitcoin users for not buy drugs becouse it is not health.

The police will catch up? Or not? Someone who has basic knowledge about hiding their IP address, bitcoin mixing, will easily lead the police into a dead end investigation. Maybe they can get the seller if he isn't hidden but I bet doubt he would cooperate with the police to catch his buyers. They use bitcoin in the dark net because it's much harder to trace. Bitcoin is owned by no company. Meaning to say, the police cannot have an agreement with the company owner to trace you since there's not one.
There's no perfect crime in this world and there's no secret that will not be known, using bitcoin to transact for illegal activities will only increase your chances of being caught but it would not guarantee you are safe with what you are doing.
If you use physical cash for an illegal transaction, then the chances of law enforcement officials tracing you sometime later is close to zero. But if you use Bitcoins, there is always a small chance, as all the transactions are stored in blockchain. Therefore IMO, Bitcoin is not as anonymous as physical cash.
I don't think the law can catch up to the illegal things that happen around with Bitcoin. For example hyip site owners can run a new site and yake all your money and will not be caught with it. And I don't think the FBI or any in position are currently concentrating on Bitcoin in particular for now.
The FBI is closely monitoring the usage of Bitcoins. The arrest of Burt Wagner, and the seizure of his funds points towards that. Remember that Wagner was not involved in any sort of illegal activity. He was arrested just for using Bitcoins.
