Drugs are bought with Bitcoins just like any other currency. But what makes a huge difference is, Bitcoins are used largely for buying drugs. Its the main criticism against bitcoins. I dont know how buying drugs using bitcoins can be controlled.

This is quite irritating. Do you have any proof for your wild claim? IMO, less than 0.01% of the bitcoins are used to buy drugs. Many of the dark-markets are no longer active and those which are operational right now have reported declining revenues.

Do you have proof on YOUR claim? Where are the facts of your claim, please give us the data so we could se that what you are saying is true. Only .01% of Bitcoins are used in the dark markets to buy drugs, really? That is very hard to believe. The dark markets are growing to become more than a billion $ industry, so there should be more than .01% of Bitcoins in use in there.

It could easily be done without being traced in the dark web and people had been buying illegal stuff using bitcoins since it gained substantial value. Never really tried to order something from the dark web however as a dude who always buy stuff online, it also works the same way as that.

I will try to buy drugs with bitcoin when I knew there were selling drugs and they accept bitcoin, it's no secret bitcoin widely used for illegal activity.
People will always use cash as their main currency for illegal transactions. BitCoin yes will have some, but nowhere compared to cash.

IMO, i do not believe the transaction of illegal activities are declining, bitcoin has been used for illegal activities and will continue to be used even though the government will do things to minimize it.

Bitcoin has been used for illegal activities ever since Silk Road came in to existence in 2011. But after 2-3 years, the dark market activity started to decline. With the arrest of Ross Ulbricht, Blake Benthall and Brian Richard Farrell, a number of dark markets went inactive. Now, only a handful of dark-markets are active, and almost all of them are operated by non-Americans.

This is a reality check for those who continue claiming that Bitcoin is mainly used for illegal activities. It should be obvious by now that Bitcoin doesn't provide the level of anonymity and safety required by illegal business operators, and Bitcoin transactions can be easily traced by government agencies. All these dudes you have mentioned must be regretting now that they once decided to use Bitcoin for conducting illegal operations with it.

blame it to the movies and media. somehow some people already had it in mind that people using btc are into something illegal. but most likely it they are that knowledgeable they may use XMR or DASH and all those anon coins and then move to BTC so technically its all goes to all crypto users. Whatever floats, BTC is definitely worth using still.

I think buying drugs with bitcoin is a bad choice. bitcoin created for some benefit. such as ease of various financial transactions that we do. bitcoin use it wisely, use for something useful.

a few people take advantages from bitcoin's characteristic that is anonymously (even it is not exactly anonymous), to do something bad like buying drugs. but it is not a right deed. drugs itself is not a very useful thing unless in medic.

so I myself never bought drugs with bitcoin or another currency.

i know i have used bitcoin to buy psilocybe cubensis thank you bitcoin i cold have not done this without you now i can trip watching corry & eastenders in the evening its such a sight.
Actually drugs are not for addiction purpose but are used as meditation work also . Well here use of bitcoin to make buy of anything which is bad , is illegal whether it is drug or anything .
I think there should be some rules by the bitcoin to use bitcoin not for fair works with e-KYC verified addresses  if it would be than it would be a big step in. bitcoin world .

If you couldn't buy drugs with bitcoin, what value it would have? Because everything that have value can be exchanged for drugs, easier or harder doesn't matter.
Bitcoin is store of value first, then money so you can do whatever u want with it, even buy drugs or tooth brush.

And I heard that people in darknet are now starting to use Monero as an alternate to pay things there other than bitcoin which as people said Monero have the advantages on its anonymity which is not pseudo-anonymous unlike bitcoin and can't be traced address to address when making a payment. So far that's what I've learnt recently. Probably in the future bitcoin will not be used in darknet anymore who knows?

No one can prevent people to buy drug using bitcoin, becouse bitcoin is in individual control. But buy drugs is such as useless thing. There is no profit from kill our self using drugs, we better to do trade.
there is no benefit from the transaction of drugs by using bitcoin. it will only end in failure. but, we can not rule out, that bitcoin is always used as a tool to deal drugs. Well, there are many people who say it is better to trade, but I think people are addicted to drugs would not say that.

I think this is an action that is not useful. when we can use bitcoin for more positive purposes.
I assume that buying drugs with bitcoin is a very stupid thing. because bitcoin is created for something much more useful.
it was a special thing of bitcoin anonymous. people do not look so well as the purpose of their bitcoin transactions, whatever is said by outsiders, they just make the image bitcoin be ugly.

What value? I'd say it's up to the seller to set his price first.
