People like you are a disgrace hyping this coin....

I gave my view, for what its worth.

Is that hyping? Can you point me to something that is hyping this coin? Show me evidence.

Otherwise, you're just a coward hiding behind a new account. In which case, your opinion to me matters this much:

it has to be noted that XiangLei is trolling the spreadcoin thread, just for your information, in regard to newbie account....

'XiangLei' gave some great, substantive points. The fact that you are trying to discredit him as a person/user instead of addressing his content... proves his point, just sayin.

Chaositec was simply pointing out that somebody has felt the need to create a new acccount to launch personal attacks against a number of devs on different projects, the only link between the targets is that they are either current or past contributors to the Darkcoin/Dash project.  It is simply a statement of fact that he felt is relevant.

....I want to believe there is an explanation, but it looks fishy.

My thoughts, fwiw - school holidays have just happened. Also, bills need to be paid. So there is likely to be some overlap between family life, doing other things to pay bills and being busy updating cache / producing a white paper.

Vertoe was silent during the first few weeks of announcing to take on cache, then there was a big release.

S/he didn't notice the fork, but a fix was pushed to the git and somehow merged with Vertoe's repo. So, S/he is still around and so I'd expect some update, when its ready. That's the 1m cache question. 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or 1 year 2 months.  I'd guess, a few weeks to a month or so.

If you want to contribute, read the OP. Looks like github is the place you should be placing ideas, requests, etc. If you have some cach and you're on the right fork, I'd guess Vertoe would say you are the community, go get a git account if you haven't already got one.

Just my take, again, fwiw.

It is amazing the things you say when you are invested in something, how you start coming up with silly justifications for things that in real life no one would tolerate. Vertoe's behavior here is completely unacceptable, he is a guy and lives in Germany, there is internet everywhere there, there are no excuses.

He had no need to come out and relaunch this coin and get a lot of people involved based on the reputation he had accumulated. Then dissapear and leave everyone hanging and a forked coin.  What are Vertoe's merits afterall, all he did for DRK was upstream changes, he was a good maintainer but with no original work of his own at the protocol level.

People like you are a disgrace hyping this coin, trying to "win time" minimizing the clusterfuck this has been. A few pages back you were all hyping and saying how this was the best thing since Jesus, and now, you are giving open time frames and justifying all this bullshit. Reality is, you weren't expecting this so stop justifying.

Truth is, Vertoe is just not that good, he is an average developer who had a few lucky trades LTC and DRK, made a little money. So what, that does not mean he can lead a project. He has proven to be very unprofessional, quick to criticize others but then completely unable to deliver himself.

you have a very good point...but why did you find the need to make a newb account to make a post?...

Look like someone scam us

And with your vast crypto currency experience you say this because someone with a family and children didn't come and hold our hand while the chain forked?

How exactly have you or anyone been ....'the S word'  ed.

Accumulate an almost dead coin, announce a takeover, put a buy wall, announce improvements, launch a new ANN thread with innovation and promise a whitepaper, less than 24 hours later it forks, no updates, no fix, someone from the community finds a fix and yet no replies, don't say a thing for 2 weeks and counting ... (not even a simple "I'm busy") ...

To me, if there was intention, there is scam. So, option A, if vertoe never comes back, she is physically or mentally unable or there was intention (ergo scam), option B, if vertoe comes back, she has a real excuse (it's going to be difficult to explain this) or she gives us a lie (ergo scam).

I want to believe there is an explanation, but it looks fishy.

I feel as we are getting scammed  Evan dash dev would have had this sorted very quickly. Seems like this dev is letting it free fall with no sign of him . Even a little sign of the dev would show willing. I'm out

Remember right now Cachcoin is more or less a one-girl-business, and vertoe actually HAS a life and family.
Sometimes a vacation and some quality time with your family is more important than anything else.

The same would have happened with Darkcoin during vacation time some 15 months ago...fortunately Darkcoin/Dash isn't a one-man-show any more, today there's a team of talented (and did I already mention, good looking) developers to support it.
I'm pretty sure that with the help of the community Cachecoin will get there.

And don't get me wrong, I don't own a single Cachecoin, and when vertoe would show up at my doorstep I'd be the first one to slap her precious ass because of the way HOW she left Darkcoin...but that's the past. Better look into the future!

Did a bit investigation on the fork.
[...]

Very nice singula! BTW: in light of your cache pool history & all, it would be awesome to get you to be a contributor to the new cache repository. I think one of the important points of Vertoe's ann, was that she should not be the sole code author or owner, rather, known community contributors could/should also push code whenever needed or appropriate. Now would be one such time.
I hope things get moving sooner rather than later ^^

Again, great work, and thank you.

I'd be glad to contribute.

I personally also have some ideas that could improve the coin, some of them thought out and waiting to be implemented, tested on testnet and then perhaps added to the main code (like better difficulty retargeting function, aiming to adapt more quickly to hashrate changes, making the coin more resistant against multipools harvesting), some of them ideas that may be nice, but will need to be examined for feasibility and designed before implementing them.

One of them is an idea that core parameters like txfees, difficulty and pos/pow rewards could be controlled by sort of AI calculated within the blockchain (something relatively simple, like reasonably sized Artificial Neural Network or SVM ....). The blockchain provides enough randomness for such algorithm to be deterministic (every node ends up with same results), but not predictable - if some unpredictability is desired. There are still some open questions with that idea - what aspect would the AI try to maximize (coin usage, amount of transactions, hashrate stability?) and whether it would be resilient against abuse (people trying to manipulate the AI for profit, possibly damaging the coin for others)

Some of them may conflict a bit with vertoe's roadmap, though ....

As for the fork fix:
I've updated my fork at github and added the fix in 0.7 branch there:
https://github.com/singula/CACHeCoin.git

I tested the client - with that last fix commit applied, the client synces to the correct fork.
It is compatible with old Kalgecin's client, at least for blocks below 100K, but we are only at block 87427 now, so don't worry Smiley

Our wallet is currently offline due to issues with the coin's blockchain.

vertoe could you have a look at this problem? We have multiforks right now.
