Congratulations to Gambia on their first ever AFCON. Although, some argue that they only qualified because the number of participating teams was increased from 18 to 24. What do you think?
This pure unprofessional excuse, 18 teams, 24 teams does not matter, these guys were pure class and deserved qualification. They beat Kenya and Togo, drew with Egypt in the first leg, qualified with a game to spare yet people feel they don't deserve it because the teams were increased to 24 teams.. I don't buy it.

Nigeria won and qualified even if they didn't they would have qualified as Sierra Leone and Lesotho had earlier drew. The team needs improvement at all angle. The last time we met with Algeria in the competition, there were a lot of unprofessional display and lack of commitment. Etebo was a fantastic player then, as fate would have it we couldn't beat Algeria. If we need to get somewhere this time around, We need the team to be very serious.

The list of other teams who have qualified so far are - Nigeria, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Mali, Guinea, Egypt, and defending champions Algeria. Cameroon has qualified as the hosts.

Congratulations to Nigeria 🇳🇬 for qualification

As a Leicester City fan I'm supporting Nigeria because Kelechi and Ndidi play for them. I'm sad Kelechi was not on the score sheet I think it was a difficult game for him I hope he scores in the next game. I also support Egypt and Senegal  Grin.

Nigeria finally broke the unbeaten record of squirrel of Benin today beating them 1-0 ,
Nigeria just has the chance, the goal was after 90 minutes of the game, I mean the goal was during the little extra of the time given. But Benin Republic had already lost in a game before, it was Nigeria that won the country at the time too. And of course, Lesotho and Sierra Leone are just bonus mark for as they are not playing good at all.

I wonder how many teams from this continent can qualify for the World Cup? The level is clearly lower than in Europe and South America namely.
I hope you can see the topic title, this is not about Europe or South America, this is about Africa, and precisely about Africa Cup of Nations.

Am not happy with my country (Nigeria) economy or the severe situation in it, but in terms of soccer everyone is United, I wasn't lucky enough to watch the game life, such a pity a nation national news didn't show it, but I followed it up online, I must say am thrilled Nigeria had the winner in a very late time, am much respectful of the defense and I think their is time for improvement in the team.

Nigeria won over Benin, and they are now alone on the top of their group
what surprised me is Cameroon lose in Cape Verde, which puts Cape Verde in a position to reach top two position in their group and next phase, congrats to them
Madagascar lost their match from Ethiopia, but they still have chances to reach top two position

Today's Fixtures 27th Match 2021

Lesotho vs Sierra Leone
Benin vs Nigeria

My predictions:
Lesotho 1-2 Sierra Leone
Benin 0- 2 Nigeria.

Correct score: Lesotho 0-0 Sierra Leone
                         Benin 0-1 Nigeria

Nigeria is already qualified but still have two outstanding matches to play with Lesotho and Sierra Leone, Benin will be struggling with these two clubs to remain at 2nd position.

Nigeria finally broke the unbeaten record of squirrel of Benin today beating them 1-0 , it quite a tight game the host playing defensively all effort by super eagle to break their opponent defence was all futile and thwarted the likes of osimen, iheanacho tried all their best unfortunately a shot hit woodwork of the beniniose until onuacho came to our rescue,  no doubt Nigeria dominated the match from the beginning to the end.

My predictions:
Lesotho 1-2 Sierra Leone
Benin 0- 2 Nigeria.
Four matches have been played, this is the table:

Nigeria is playing away, Benin also really trying, but this game should not be hard for Nigeria to win. Nobody yet know how the outcome will be but I am 95% certain that Nigeria is not going to lose, it is either win or draw. About Lesotho and Sierra Leone, the game looks unpredictable as both countries players are not performing good.

Looking forward to Benin-Nigeria  tomorrow, I hope  Iheanacho and Ndidi bring back their forms from Leicester to help foster the developing super Eagles team. Victor Osimehn seems to be a bad signing for Napoli or am I not being consistent with the Italian league of late? The last time I watched Super Eagle played, the defence was a bit bad. The coach needs to work on that we need to top the group and show case our form in the incoming tournament.
This is actually a very crucial match to be played today in Benin, the last meeting was terrible where goals from Victor Osimhen and Samuel Kalu completed a 2-1 comeback win for the Super Eagles. Super Eagle's victory today will automatically secure them qualification for Cameron's afcon 2022. Benin coach said yesterday that his side are set to miss their forward scorer Stephane Sessegnon, I think this will give the super eagle the opportunity to secure a point today.

Josefjix, can we honestly say that the Nigerian side is a "developing team" where we have it predominantly made up of foreign based players? The Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr needs to start showing more faith in the home based players than in the foreign based ones if he truly knows what he's doing.

Sourcing for home based players depends on a lot of motivations and factors one; do the home base players have the agility needed to compete with their opponents from different countries? Are the fans interested in local leagues to be familiar with the players that would be introduced to the team? How do we trust a national team in the hands of amateurs? You and I know the Nigerian League still needs a lot of improvement to be viable in the rating for the players playing there to be tactically intelligent.

I could imagine that  Grin after they won the trophy few years ago they've been putting up some great challenges against the top nations. The results means nothing though as they are already out, Algeria and Zimbabwe are the teams going to the next round.
Who could ever imagine that Zambia would draw with Algeria (3-3).

Good to see Iheabacho lighting the EPL up once again and I hope he brings this form to the super eagle, I trust Ndidi whenever he put on the green jersey he always delivers. Osimehn was not a bad signing I think the whole Napoli team is just shit this season, he had some injury challenges but I'm sure he would turn things around.

Yeah the defence was very poor I hope he got that fixed up.
