No of course not 🤣
Seems funny though thinking about it , a religion is something that answers our questions like :
When did world Start , what would happen in the future , who are we a part of , who is watching over us etc..etc..
I cannot imagine Bitcoins answering questions like :-
The bulls are watching over you , if you be a good boy/girl you will soon see some hike 😌
Well not every definition on Google is true , some are deeper within us .🤣

A religion is someone who has a supernatural power that can change everything according to their rules/law and not with a digital currency which is made by a mere human. I think people got it the wrong way of worshipping a digital currency or a human which is not totally perfect.

Bitcoin is just a new term for money in this new era of technology. If people tend to worship Bitcoin, how about those people in the old age? Are they worshipping the golds and silver too?
LOL, If people worship Bitcoin why don't they worship money first? Money has a lot of use than Bitcoin in the real world and you can also buy Bitcoin using fiat money if that makes sense. Cheesy

Bitcoin has nothing to do with religion. This is a product of new blockchein technology, a product of human invention. There is no deity and nothing supernatural here. How can you call Bitcoin religion? This is just stupid.
Well said, that is absolutely correct, Bitcoin has no connection with or something related to religion and if religion is all about money the world will surely be in chaos right now. And if people will worship Bitcoin why don't they worship the one who created the internet first? without the internet, there will be no Bitcoin trading or any transactions be made if you know what I mean. Cheesy

I think both sides - religious people and atheists can be offended if somebody calls Bitcoin a religion. It is not. Suppose, it is the best invention of the XXth century after the Internet.

Believing to bitcoin doesn't translate to worshipping it. Besides Satoshi is not a God his a human so I don't think it fair to consider Bitcoin as a religion.

The move for the decentrazation is huge and also bitcoin has truly changed the way we perform transactions. Yes the idea has changed our perception about some things however bitcoin is driven by technology and not blind fellowship some religion preaches. Satoshi should not be seen as a god either but a genius that is changing the world.

very bad if talking bitcoin as a religion. bitcoin is like a currency, bitcoin can be expressed as an asset, so I think bitcoin can be used for things that might be useful. but if it is associated with the bitcoin religion it is very far away.

DeFixy.com - The future of Decentralization
Considering how many Bitcoin believers (maximalists) there are, with their specific beliefs of how cryptocurrency should behave, it's becoming more evident that Bitcoin is a religion. After all, this popular movement of decentralized finance has impacted our lives one way or the other. The world has its eyes on the direction of Bitcoin as a digital currency which determines the path forward of Blockchain technology.

According to Google, the term "Religion" means the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. This becomes true especially when many Bitcoin followers believe that Satoshi is some sort of "god". Hence, if Satoshi would reveal himself to the public, many people will follow him.

Nonetheless, what are your thoughts about this? Huh
I guess when bitcoin is in its peak there are already people worshiping it lol. There are already people who worship money so i guess bitcoin can also be.

Can Bitcoin be considered a religion, I think it's too much. religion is a very strong belief consists of rules guidance and obligation, but bitcoin is only limited to technology created by humans there is no guidance there to do good to fellow humans,so bitcoin doesn't qualify as a religion.

Bitcoin can never be consider as religion. Why do you want to see bitcoin as a religion ? According to the dictionary definition, Religion is the belief in a reality beyond what is perceptible by the senses, and the practices associated with this belief. Or  A particular system of such belief, and the rituals and practices proper to it.  Bitcoin is a digital form of fiat which operates on a peer to peer decentralized system. Bitcoin do not qualify to be a belief or practices by a group of people.

No, bitcoin is not a religion, though there could be parallels with religion in how some investors behave. For example, this forum has a hierarchy with rules and expectations. The community has its own goals with expectations of behaviors. If people fall short of these expectations, they can get scolded and excommunicated.

Bitcoin can never be a religion. It is a revolutionary piece of technology wherein people are obsessed knowing the true identity of its creator. Although there may be some similarities (like you mentioned), there are still factors to be considered especially that bitcoin has only been in existence less than 15 years.
but bitcoin doesn't have rules? freedom is everything in cryptocurrency, so I don't think religion requirements exist in bitcoin. You don't need to be confused about this, you don't need to do any obligation like what religion has to do, just do what you want in Bitcoin. Right Bitcoin is a masterpiece of a technological development in the financial sector

No one has ever compared Bitcoin with religion. Once there was one similar topic, but the question was not so directly raised there. Everyone here indicated that religion has nothing to do with Bitcoin, and I agree with this statement. We should not idolize bitcoin. We see that Bitcoin is created by man. This is enough for them to have nothing in common.
Religion brings a lot of restrictions and regulations which are not at all present in the blockchain technology. Bitcoins offer various freedom and the ease to use and also it does not restrict any of the individuals may be those are rich or poor, blind or deaf, or maybe any one. Bitcoins should never be considered as a religion.

Bitcoins are something unique in themselves and I agree with you that we should not idolize bitcoins. Bitcoins were created by the humanity for the use and benefits of the humanity itself. Bitcoins could be controlled by us and it is not bitcoins which controls us. There really is nothing much common between bitcoins and religion.

On the other hand, Bitcoin maximalists believe that there should be one cryptocurrency in existence.
Bitcoin maximalists mostly aren't that rational, especially not when it comes to BSV minions. Even if Bitcoin scales for the entire world, people will still use other crypto currencies just because they can, or offer more upwards potential. What's the difference between those who say Bitcoin should be the only currency or governments saying there should only be fiat and nothing else?

Nonetheless, I believe that Bitcoin is a religion in many ways. But not everyone thinks the same depending on their point of view. What matters is that Bitcoin is a useful decentralized cryptocurrency for the world, rather than just a movement. Just my opinion Smiley
It's a subjective matter indeed. I personally don't see it as a religion myself, but have seen many in the BSV and XRP camp who do so.

No, Bitcoin is not refer any religion. It's a community based online forum where people buy, sell or trade by using it to exchange it by various money and it depends on their consent. Actually, Bitcoin is a consent based crypto currency as I think and it is used in various purposes. So, it can be said that Bitcoin isn't considered a religion.

Don't think bitcoin it is ideal to see bitcoin as a god not to even think of it being a religion. Nobody would worship bitcoin for sure, just because we are impressed by Satoshi for developing the blockchain technology which have also given birth to so many things does not mean everybody would follow his directions and command if he appears. I am sure most people may not believe in some of his policies regarding bitcoin so how do you expect all of us to follow him and see him as a god.
