Blockchain if used effectively can bring massive change all over the world, and Africa is no exception. There are a lot of African nationals living and working in developed nations, such as the European Union and the United States. Sending remittance payments back to Africa is always a major issue for the expats. With the implementation, this issue can be resolved forever.

One thing that is common in many countries of Africa is for there to be mobile money usage. the largest mobile digital payments transfer market in the world is based in East Africa (Mainly between Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda). So cashing out Bitcoin via a person-to-person trade using LocalBitcoins because fairly easy, and with reputation and user history, safe to use. Mobile money allows account-to-account transfers, where you only need to know the phone number of the recipient to be able to transfer to them money.

With Bitcoin the people of Africa can become their own bank where they do not need to queue to withdraw their money. with Bitcoin Africans can make their purchase from anywhere in the world where Bitcoin is accepted. Also those in Africa who have families abroad can send them money within minutes. The transaction fee is very low compared to those incurred using traditional fiat currency.

It can certainly help but all by itself it is not quite possible. Looking at the situation Africa is in, there is a lot of corruption going on and a lot of "every man for himself" type of situation in the communities as well, everyone tries to take care of themselves first than the others which means countries can't get better unless people stop working just for themselves and start working for the whole community.

People do not realize that you can be a billionaire but if everyone around you is in poverty then you do not have any proper way to be a "billionaire" even when you have that kind of money. They are not UK like people live in castles when they are rich and dine with other super rich people, that is why they need to first increase the level of living as a nation. If they start on that, blockchain could help them out a lot.

It can change Africa for the better, if blockchain is used for good and better. Blockchain can be used in various field that can help them to develop and innovate their means of living. But I don't think it can help them politically. Also, in order for them to utilize the use of blockchain they need better education and knowledge which they need first to achieve before adopting to blockchain technology.

The  nature of Africa was decentralization! Africa was unite and great until  colonial masters began to centralize  everything. Now  all the resources is control by the  western world.  Now that the world is changing and  blockchain is bring back  decentralization to the world would Africa get  their  power back?
We already know that the Africa is decentralized but we must ensure first that the Africa will be have a fine and good internet connection for them to access the blockchain technology and also crypto. If they will ensure that, they can easily brings back again the good economy and change the economic growth of it. Being a decentralized by Africa makes them unique and good for blockchain.

Oh man, Africa is one of the richest continents, they have so many resources. You need to learn more about Africa, make statements later. Africa is occupied for centuries, in 21 century they still work for everyone else except for themselves.

Indeed they have a lot of resources--that's the main reason why the British built colonies.

I think as of now, the South African government/people are trying to unite, but that's becoming more of a chore than voluntary. I've heard bad news from them, particularly rebellion, coup de ta, dictatorship--corruption, etc.

Blockchain is a technology that can be used for many things, people can choose to use it for good things. My opinion is clear about that, blockchain can help entire world to be a better place.

I don't think this will help them given the current state they are in. It should be wise if they would push for the treaty, agreement even peace if possible, before they can progress on something like blockchain. And also as you said, they have a lot of resources, using those resources to improve the country and their economy would be better at first.

Blockchain is really just a technology and it does not make a country rich. the use of many new technologies is good but in Africa do not have good resources and that is why they are always disadvantaged.
Besides, Africa always lets their fate be decided by the gods. Over belief in beliefs is also a factor that helps them not to develop.

Africa is occupied for centuries, in 21 century they still work for everyone else except for themselves. Why it's like that, well Western countries are very good in manipulations with entire nations, divide and rule. But that's another topic, we can continue about that in this topic https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.52627376 headline tells a lot Africa isn't poor - Africa is being raped.

Economically yes it can help Africa, but if your talking about independence then that’s different story. Blockchain can really bring change in some developing countries but it cannot change the government. It can empower people but in different ways.

Most African States have very weak economies. This is partly due to the high level of corruption, but there are other reasons. I think a decentralized fair blockchain system can help Africa lift the economy. In addition, a number of countries on this continent are already beginning to show interest in the new technology. If they begin to actively implement decentralization in their infrastructure, they will receive a profit in the form of strengthening the economy.

Blockchain can bring positive change to Africa. Most of the African countries have problems with jobs or employment which leaves most of the natives unemployed. Blockchain cryptocurrency related projects in Africa will create employment opportunities for most people and this will go a long way to impact positively into the economic status of the country and Africa at large.
At some point this could bring positivity vibes to the people. Since their countries suffering from corruption at least this Blockchain could help them to survive. That’s true, people can have this as opportunities to develop and grow their skills by having this Blockchain technology. There’s no qualm that bitcoin technology could help many lives.

You should remember that blockchain is a tool to manage and process peer-to-peer transactions. It's not a valuable asset that can make Africa rich again. Africa needs better resources and living conditions to develop, instead of just focusing on blockchain technology, it will not help when Africa has no goods to trade.
The African continent is in fact full or resources that could be used to improve the lives of those that live there, but this does not happen because of two of the biggest problems for many of the governments in Africa and those are corruption and political instability, politicians sell the resources of their countries and instead of using those resources to educate people, build their infrastructure and to accelerate their internal market they steal that money.

This generates instability and then the president is removed and someone else is put in his place but instead of trying to change things the persons in power keep doing the same thing and steal from their citizens.

~Blockchain is revolutionary, no doubt. Anyone with the required knowledge can change his life, even an African.

It's not only about changing lives of the individuals who work with it for better. Uneducated people, some of whom even can't read(775 million people in the world are illiterate), can still benefit from blockchain technology. Because of the lack of transparency corruption flourishes in underdeveloped countries, and socially unprotected suffer from it the most. If the sale of a country's resources was put on a blockchain, it would be much harder for corrupt officials to embezzle the money from the sale.

as I know blockchain is a technology used for payment transactions and is a big data that can store some small data, so blockchain technology can be carried anywhere wherever the most important thing is to have internet access then the blockchain can be applied.

I think it doesn't mean the historical power like the nations power type of big deal, I think it just means it could have an affect over the non democratic version of living there right now. Because dictators have the control over many nations in africa, having a decentralized currency option would mean no matter what happens in their nation people would be able to save their own economy by using bitcoin.

Look at Venezuela, people who held bitcoins when the economy collapsed didn't get affected as much as people who held fiat, it is still a bad situation there no matter what you held but in the end being a bit better is all you can ask for. Same goes for africa, people who buy/sell or earn/spend bitcoins would be better than people who use fiat in those nations.

Maybe, maybe not, we can't see the results if they are not going to try. Most of the population in Africa doesn't have technology in their homes, laptop, smartphones, even WIFI that is the main ingredients to make money using the blockchain, if they all have this, I assume that this will be a big opportunity for them to have an everyday income to support their family needs and they will have a better home and not in slums.

Bitcoin changed so many lives including mine, there is no doubt it can change all of us if we are letting it to.

This actually depends on how their country would implement and adapt the change. It may provide various opportunities to people considering that their diverse culture and population can certainly increase the reputation and usage of cryptocurrencies in general. But the problem would arise when it comes to its application.

Remember that Africa, being divided into countries that are on the underdeveloped and developing states, have different priorities that their government needs to address. Education, infrastructures, poverty, and job opportunities are only a few of their current problems presently and I doubt that they could fit cryptocurrencies as their priority.
