Winding down.
The gambling mindset is still there he still can remember his sessions his wins the excitement gambling generates and he will try to replicate that feeling by playing cards with people, if you are an addict you will use your imagination to replicate the feelings, if there is a will there is a way for gambling addict, the absence will just make him misses the dopamine.
It might happen for the early days that you have been away to the place where you used to gamble.

But I think eventually you'll get over it especially if you really want to stop your gambling addiction. The change of environment is good to start anew, different from what you used to, and much better if there's no way you can access an internet so you can move on. Anyway, it depends on the gambler if he's determine to stop and the level of his addiction.

Having access to the internet is not that kind of a big deal because the addicted gambler is now surrounded by new types of people who have other activities and habits which are really far from all types of gambling and the environment is also new. This will really help the gambler to keep his life on the right track and that access to the internet won't be a problem as the gambler is now motivated to do the habits and activities of people that surrounds him or her.

Environmental changes allow us to change for the better and leave the old habits we have been doing.
But it takes effort to start a new habit completely different from what we do; not many people can do it.
Even in a new place of residence, we can access the internet more easily, if our desire to change is very strong, it will not make us try to keep gambling online because we already have the determination to change it.
With determination, effort and support from the people around us, everything will be easier and we can leave gambling as we want.

yes that's right, environmental change is one of the supporting factors that a gambler can do when he wants to be free from his addiction.
however, regardless of the presence or absence of internet access, he could do so in various ways, or perhaps go visit a land-based casino.
Well I think we agree, determination is the main foundation and is one of the factors that a person can be free from excessive activity towards anything including gambling. however, not only determination, they must involve the closest people, the full support of someone can prevent further damage. and before moving, it's a good idea to consult with experts so that the way that is done leads to success.

If a person moves to a rural place with no internet connection and gambling is frowned upon by the community in that area, then there is nothing that person can do but stop gambling.  That is a simple scenario where a gambling addict has no choice but to stop gambling because he has no access to gambling facilities and the people around him look at gambling activity as a bad thing.
This is conclusive, no choice but to work with the environment that he have now, if there's no internet and there's no people who have that same vice there's no way for a gambling addict to continue his usual activities, he will be push to do other things and make a good switch with all the activities that he have inside his mind.

Nothing to do but to adopt and start moving forward with a different lifestyle away from any gambling related activities.
This is why many people want's to live on those places, not only because they want to escape their gambling addiction but they want to escape from the stress. There is no internet there so no annoying notifications that will show up on their devices. Another good thing is that the place there is more calmer and cooler because it was surrounded by trees and mountains.

Lastly the people there are more friendly and well disciplined because they even think gambling is a bad activity that should be avoided by anyone else. This proves that a change in the environment do really have an effect to a person or if he has a gambling disorder and that effect is positive.

There's no need to be upset

Not only on eating and excising but on all things that would really make yourself diverted your attention so that you would really be changing up your attention into something else which would
really be helpful on quitting or solving gambling addiction.Changes in places or thing around will might affect or not but it all matters on someones mindset since there are various or lots of ways
which you could really still make yourself involved thats why self discipline and prohibitions should really be implied strictly or simply does have that self control.
Addiction is something hard that you couldnt really control thats why lots had messed up their lives.

yes, good point
everything is deeply related in ways we can't even understand
for some people it's harder to change all at once
focusing on one or two things at first may make it easier to start changing for a better version of yourself.

If a gambling addicts moves to a rural area where their is no access to Internet for sure it will stop the addict from playing gambling at the moment but it doesn't mean that if the founds his self out from the environment to a place where he will have access to online and physical gambling he will not go back to gambling lifestyle.

At least it will decrease his addict rather than always focusing with real gambling that can make him become poor if he was always doing something wrong. This is better to make people to feel less addicted with gambling at least you can play card as long as possible caused by that's free. Replicating feeling in gambling doesn't matter a lot as long as you are only focusing to play the card.

~ Well, in the end it's up to the person himself if he wants to change and get rid of addiction or not. A good environment can help him in making decisions and will help him let go of what he thinks is important for him. And with the cooperation of everyone in this new environment, then he'll have the best chance to finally let go of his old ways.

But the most important thing here is his/her will to end their addiction. Don't blame the environment or anything. Don't search for excuses because you'll find millions of them if deep inside you don't want to stop being addicted. Do the opposite: while remaining in the same environment look for something that can distract you from gambling.

I agree that our power of will is the ultimate thing and people can create great lives and get out of struggling situations
but it's also worth noting how the environment can affect us, being in a calmer place, in contact with nature, not rushing, not eating junk food and exercising will improve our lives in many levels.

The environment helps us a lot, especially if we are a problematic type of people. That's why the real change in our personality no matter how bad or difficult it is, we can still do it as long as there is dedication and determination along with those around us.
Just like having a gambling addiction, we can still change it.

Then there are many other ways to deal with this matter dude, isn't it said that when there is a problem like addiction, there is a solution to this matter.

You will agree with me that society and the environment can have a great influence on the lifestyle of every individual, you often can find yourself doing, or being involved in that activity that almost everyone is involved with in that your locale as a result of influence. Now considering someone who is a gambling addict, is there any possibility of him/her becoming better if they are relocated to another environment or society where people around are not involved in gambling?

Can someone still develop the habit of gambling and become an addict even though no one around gambles?

For me if the person is already addicted to it then there is a low chance that he/she would stop even if he/she moves to a new place.
We have so many online gambling sites nowadays so it would really be hard to stop for someone who is already addicted to it.

true
but this is also a really radical change
may work for some people
implementing gradual changes is also a good idea
simple things as exercising and eating healthy can improve quality of decision making by a lot.

Absolutely. There's no doubt about that. Changing the ecological environment for better does have a lot of benefits. But I think, when we talk about gambling addiction, by environment we mean people that surround you. If you move to another place, but the people around you will remain the same, that will hardly help you to deal with your addiction.

I agree with this, but I also agree with changing literally the environment you are in. The physical environment can play a factor in someone's habit to gamble. If the area you are residing in is populated with casinos, most probably you'll just going to loop over and over even if you decide to quit. This is because you'll keep on seeing your usual hangout place and then eventually, you'll crave for it until you give in.

Those people around us play a factor too in gambling addiction. If the people around you are disciplined and financial literate, they could motivate you to be the same which could help you survive addiction. However, if the people around you are irresponsible gamblers, they might corrupt you even more until there is nothing left of you.

Going back to playing cards with friends is tantamount to a failed attempt to quit gambling. Anyone who has decided that a gambling addiction is harmful to him must give up gambling in any form completely. You can encourage dopamine work by creating some kind of incentive system for yourself. For example, if you lasted a month without gambling, you can afford to spend some money on something you could not afford before. This kind of incentive system would be analogous to a gambling incentive system.

Bitcoin is GOD
Correct, but many people are not informed enough about the tracking abilities that companies have these days, so they make the mistake of keeping their old smartphone or email accounts and that is how those companies keep sending them information related to gambling.

So it is not surprising that now leaving an addiction behind is becoming more and more difficult, and while it is obvious that it can still be done, it is not as if those companies are making the life of those people any easier.
It should not be easy for these people to give their email account addresses or mobile numbers to other parties so that they will not receive information about offers to play gambling again if they move. This is very important to note so that we will not become victims again because, after all, we want to avoid gambling so we decide to move places. But it will all be useless if their offers still tempt us because we can easily follow them without thinking twice, making our life riskier.
It was not hard to ignore those emails if we really wanted to change our lives and stop gambling forever.
With the help of our family, nothing is impossible as long as we help ourselves as well. We have to make busy our minds think about something (not gambling) to diversify our focus and let addiction heal gradually until it was done. It needs a new environment and I believe this is a very effective way.
We need to remember that leaving an addiction is not something that you can just do and then be done with it, it is a process and for most people it is a process that will last for their entire lives, so while for people like us ignoring such promotions is not a big problem the same cannot be said about those which have or had gambling issues.

And this is because even if a person is able to leave an addiction behind that doesn't mean that they could not fall back into addiction if for some reason they were psychologically weak at that time, for example if a family member died and they were in the middle of a depression and then they received a notification telling them they had a promotion on their old casino account it will be way more difficult for them to not fall into temptation and begin to gamble again.

As long as the gambler doesn't find a local casino in his area and he starts to occupy himself with all kinds of things, he won't try to find it by asking his neighbours. That means his desire to move from his old place of residence because he wants to leave gambling has gone well and it's just a matter of continuing what he wants to achieve. But it will not all go well if he is still trying to find casinos around his area, which can make him return to his old gambling habit.

This has also been said repeatedly that with the spread of the internet which has almost reached 70% worldwide

it is unlikely that an gambling addict can stop gambling when he changes his environment because online gambling can be done anywhere and anytime without knowing the time and limitations (the percentage is only 5% imo)

In fact, those who become addicted to gambling become very difficult to withdraw from this gambling. Those of us who become addicted to something find it very difficult to come back. Similarly, those who are addicted to this game of gambling can never quit gambling.Yes it is possible only when a person realizes on his own that I am not doing this job well. Only then can a person get rid of gambling addiction.Otherwise it is not possible.
Gambling addiction is not easy to undo and most time it is caused by friends or boredom. We have so many gamblers who are introverts and the urge of gambling always increased because they have no one to talk to and because of that the gambling urge in them always increase. There are lots of environmental factors that can increase the urge of gambling addiction. We need to be careful the way we gamble to reduced any addiction that can make us a victim of gambling addiction.

I agree.

Being an introvert is not enough to assume that an introvert can get an addiction to gambling. Maybe there's no one around him (physically) that is addicted to gambling, or doesn't have any idea in gambling at all, but the internet is huge, where he can see a lot of people who are bragging their achievement in gambling which can trigger his interest towards gambling than can lead to gambling addiction in the long run.
When there is a case of addiction, it should be handled very subtly. I think that one of the recommendations is to play, but less and less. If a person plays for 5 hours, lower it to 4 hours, then the next week lower it to 3 hours, and so on until it decreases to at least 30 minutes, then to compensate for the time spent inactive in the game, it is necessary to do another activity, such as a sport, keeping busy, reading a book, something that lasts a long time, the idea is to forget a little of everything that has to do with the game, the longer the busy person lasts, the more profit to leave the addiction problem.

I just noticed this, since the pandemic started in 2019, almost all land-based casinos have been closed due to the spread of Covid19 and lockdown, besides that, the number one affected here is always the owners of gambling companies and those gamblers addicted to gambling. That if we look at it from another angle, it is a good thing because their routine and their environment will be changed every day of their lives.

That's why even though there is a lockdown almost all over the world in every country, gambling owners still find a way to continue their gambling business using the technology we have today through the internet, online gambling. And he has been effective until now and continues to enjoy this gambling lover. So, the other gamblers who want to change what they do, change their habits when they get together with their close family, and friends and go to a place that is a bit environmentalist around.
