I have thought that one key advantage crypto (bitcoin, litecoin, Dash, monero etc.) has over gold is that its supply level is fixed and transparent, but can this or features make crypto more valuable than gold?
for the price i think crypto price is much higher than gold. but for gold it can be much more stable than crypto. between gold and crypto has its own pluses and minuses. So I think there is a lot to do to see what crypto or gold will be of value in the future

If you take the current market capitalization, you can see that gold is valued almost 30 times higher than Bitcoin ($10.6 trillion vs $350 billion). And in the future you can expect the gold market cap to go further up, as the availability of easily extractable ore is declining. Anthony Pompliano recently claimed that by 2030 the market cap of BTC will be higher than that of gold. It is going to be almost impossible. In order to reach that milestone, BTC exchange rates need to increase by anywhere from 30x to 300x.

value in cryptocurrency more but gold will always act as a defensive asset and in this bitcoin is trying to compete with it. Conservative investors are still buying gold now because it retains value better.
For gold, it is clear that there are still many people who like it, and people now also want to buy gold because of its very good price considerations and it is still considered a precious metal in the world, so obviously there is nothing to lose to always have gold, even though Bitcoin is also more good in several other ways.

Crypto and gold are both unique on their own, but as we all know crypto is very volatile compared to gold. Despite that crypto has a bright future indeed especially now that massive cryptocurrency adoption has been everywhere. So I can say that crypto will be more trending in the future rather than gold.
If we talk about current adoption of Crypto, yes, we will see a bright future for Crypto. When that happens, the demand for Crypto will increase and of course the price will go up, While gold prices tend to be stable so if you save your money into gold then your assets are stable or safe haven.

For now crypto can only gaze at gold at crossroads and side by side looks like it still takes a few more years. Perhaps the classic reason for crypto is its fluctuating movements, whereas gold tends to be more stable. So investors definitely choose gold over crypto for the long term.
I think for that reason, Crypto is very suitable for long-term investment, because the Crypto price fluctuates so it can get profit in the future, Gold is suitable for safe Haven investment because the price is stable so that our assets do not fluctuate like Crypto.
fluctuations dont guarantee a future profit . what if you say that crypto will be profitable at 2021 but what if fluctuations did occur too on that year and the price fell down ? but fluctuations mostly defines short term or mid terms .

crypto is suitable for long term because of its scarcity  but we cant also know what will happen in gold , golds value can also increase in the future because gold is scarce too but it can be less because we dont know if how many supply left for it but most cryptos are fix and have a small supply only .

In my opinion, there are two reasons that I suppose Crypto and Bitcoin are more valuable than gold in term of investing:

1. This is a kind of trend-following investment or asset. (Because the next trend and technology is Blockchain and 4.0 Technology)
2. With unique coins which have the certain amount and not be able to born anymore such as Bitcoin, the possibility of price increasement is infinite ( in term of theory, Gold can be exploited continuously and be born in nature)

Bitcoin has all the same characteristics as gold, the amount of Bitcoin is limited like gold which is a non-renewable mining product and the size of bitcoin can be broken down into smaller units without losing its unit value, so we can buy less than one (bitcoin), technology bitcoin is also stable and will not decline, it is also impossible to make fake bitcoins, besides that bitcoin has another advantage that gold does not have, namely we can move bitcoin anywhere in the world in just a matter of minutes, regardless of the amount of bitcoin That's why many people think that bitcoin is digital gold at this time and in my opinion investing in bitcoin will be more profitable than investing in gold which has a relatively stable price increase and usually increases the price of gold no more than 5% or 10% of the purchase price, while bitcoin can provide a profit of more than 50% for the holder.

There are individuals who actually adores actual treatment of the resource than advanced yet as you stated, digital currencies gives straightforwardness over gold and different products. In term of value, btc may dominate the race. In any case, BTC speculation may prompt extraordinary level of monetary misfortune because of its inclination. I preferably make my interest into bitcoin over to make my interest into gold. Digital money will be more significant contrast with gold In couple of years to come.

It depends on multiple factors. The most important one is the quantity. The quantity of gold we have on earth is a constant. No one can reproduce gold from any other element. If we consider BTC, after 2140 or so it will also become a constant when the last BTC is mined out. So that will not get impacted from inflation and hence the price will tend to go up. But if there is any other cryptocurrency in which the quantity is not fixed and can be mined at anytime, if you apply the theories on supply and demand, you can get an idea on how the price varies against the supply.

Yes, cryptocurrency is a good asset especially bitcoin but there are other good altcoins as well that can be a good asset like ETH and XRP. It only depend on your assessment of which crypto would be a valuable as an asset. This is why risk assessment is very important in cryptocurrency and if you are good in it then definitely you can save a lot of money from crypto as an asset. Again if you will take my advise to go for bitcoin high chance you get a brighter future ahead of crypto as an asset.
in fact, the current crypto price is really high, like YFI, bitcoin, and so on. if the count is 1 gram of gold, then currently the prices of some cryptos are much more expensive. In terms of functionality, cryptocurrency has many functions, and in a pandemic, many people are using and studying it as a business, and others. we can see the prices of some cryptos increasing. Well, even though gold is still a good investment tool, in terms of value, I think cryptocurrency deserves to be a competitor.

Cryptocurrency is far better and more valuable than gold as at now. Though before now gold wasore valuable but Cryptocurrency awareness and recognition made itpre valuable and better.  Bet it before 2023 Cryptocurrency would be expensive especially BTC and Eth now than before. Let's watch it and see theagoc.

This is the perspective that's in crypto field. We all will say that crypto is performing better. But the gold folks wouldn't agree with that, just like Peter Schiff who is a known gold bull, he would always compare bitcoin to gold and gold is his winner. Obviously, he's into that asset that's why he's defending it.
And the same as him, we're in this asset and we're going to defend it and say that it's better but I certainly agree with you that it's better.  Grin

Obviously Crypto will be more valuable than gold in near future because it's already gained a huge popularity and price if we campare with it's beginning price.

Hope you caught my point.

I wouldn't be so sure about it. You can't say that it will or will not be because nobody can accurately predict these things.

We could say that people will become more intelligent as time goes by because the statistics would indicate that but we could also be wiped out by a pandemic and reduced back to the stone age.

indeed, a lot of people will think if gold is more valueable than crypto  because gold has a physical form but crypto not
thats why maybe crypto will not be more valueable than gold, maybe same but not more buddy

My opinion is that your question is difficult to answer. But if you think about it, then in history all the time gold was the main asset, which at any even bad time was of great value. Cryptocurrencies are a new digital asset and unfortunately, although they have a number of advantages, manipulative actions often make you wonder how much the value of cryptocurrencies is due to and whether it is winding up. Proceeding only from this, a number of thoughts appear, which, on the one hand, make cryptocurrencies a new, more promising asset, but on the other hand, everything can change dramatically and, let's say, go in the wrong direction, then gold will once again become number one and may already remain it for a long time. In any case, I believe that everything will be known after 2021. Why exactly after 2021? It's just that 2021 is the last year of the next cycle of development of the crypto market and anything can happen.

Of course the price cryptocurrencies can be worth more than gold, cause their supplies are fixed unlike gold that is a natural resource that can be discovered somewhere around the world, Crypto ones the total supply of the token has been mined, there's no way you can add more, for example bitcoin ones the 21 million bitcoin has been mined, there's no way you can mine it or add more bitcoins to the total supply, these is what makes crypto valuable, although in terms of market cap gold is bigger than crypto, but in the future crypto might just  surpass gold's marketcap, who knows  Tongue.

Can Crypto be more valuable than gold?

What do you mean more valuable. Like marketcap?  Coins are worth about $400 billion. Whole gold on the world is worth $10 trillion. So 20 times more.  Yes. Crypto will be more worth then Gold. That will happen before next decade start.

I couldn't agree more. With the increased rate of adoption with the masses, the actual innovation happening in the industry, the marketcap will rise to be worth more than Gold. I do hope it happens before the next decade starts Smiley My TCAP will be worth quite a lot if that does happen!

Bitcoin for example brings more profits than gold, if I have to choose one I'd go with bitcoin but it's advisable to invest in crypto and gold at the same time, one is offline and the other is online, it makes lotta sense when think about this carefully
