the main challenge with bitcoin is not really because it wastes energy for mining it,therefore other coins which do not 'waste' energy are not necessarily better than bitcoin. It is unlike we will have some other coin replacing bitcoin as the number one crypto

unfortunately not, bitcoin has the power to move the market, and until now there is no altcoin that can be like that. it takes a lot of communities to make altcoins stand without bitcoin. so far the good market is owned by bitcoin and ethereum.
A cryptocurrency without bitcoin is like a premature baby without a mother or or an incubating machine.bitcoin is the household name in the family.the brain behind the success of the family is rested on bitcoin.
A useless bitcoin will never be ranked as the number one among all coins unless there is something serious or an important characteristics that the the coin posses. Every on e would want to have bitcoin because it is more valuable compared to any of the other cryptocurrencies on the market currently. Despite the bad market these days, bitcoin is still doing well. It is number one because that is the coin most people believe in.

I can not imagine the cryptocurrency market without its source - bitcoin. No coin can be better than him, he is constantly evolving and improving, so no coin can not surpass it.
Bitcoin has succeeded in carving out a niche for itself and became the number 1 cryptocurrency, it may not be serving any definite use other than an investment or trading but it will be very difficult for another cryptocurrency to usurp Bitcoin in its number 1 position.
It will not be easy for cryptocurrency to stand without Bitcoin. Bitcoin will always remain as a point of reference in the crypto space. Without it, things may collapse or fall apart.
I think the point we are now is, if there is no bitcoin, the market will go bad. most of people know bitcoin. and this is very important for the crypto world.
It is hard to mention cryptocurrency without mentioning bitcoin, i feel that is the bedrock of all cryptocurrency, so no matter how bitcoin price might seems useless now, it as currently made a name for itself that countries now uses it for inter trading and payment of funds within themselves
Without Bitcoin there will be no grace of cryptocurrency in the world because the Bitcoin needs no recognition of identity, while thinking about cryptocurrency, people imagine Bitcoin, hence think Crypto Currency think Bitcoin.
No i do not think that crypto market can stand without bitcoin because BITCOIN is the strongest and most powerful coin in the crypto family,even without bitcoin i think the survival of crypto market become possible as the most investors in this market are bitcoin investors and they always in the sport of this market.Moreover bitcoin is also popular among many people from different nations and there are so many counties are also there which accept bitcoin with happy faces which is actually very important to any type of currency that it get an acceptance.
Bitcoin is the standard cryptocurrency - at the head of all the others. It's too early to talk about his hopelessness. Perhaps bitcoin solve his problems, and then the payments cryptocurrencies will lose its meaning.

bitcoin is a part of cryptocurrency but without bitcoin, it's gonna take a long time for cryptocurrency to be stable again. If one day bitcoin disappears, i altcoin might become the first priority in the coin market.
just look at transaction volume, bitcoin always has a large transaction volume, so how can bitcoin disappear

Right now, in my opinion, the market is very weak, if bitcoin dies the whole cryptocurrency market would die with it. We can't lose bitcoin. Maybe in the future yes, but not now, that's for sure. of usability.

I'm not sure if it's possible or impossible but Bitcoin is the source of all the cryptocurrency out there. Maybe if Bitcoin will be gone, all coins will go down. 
I'd like the price of bitcoin to rise, but I think the market is dangerous in Cryptocurrency based on bitcoin all the time. I hope it will increase the base currency more.

bitcoin is a part of cryptocurrency but without bitcoin, it's gonna take a long time for cryptocurrency to be stable again. If one day bitcoin disappears, i altcoin might become the first priority in the coin market.
Bitcoin can exist freely and crypto can exist autonomously if bitcoin is absent, yet crypto is immaculate and phenomenal if there are bitcoins and cryptos that will make the market more entire.
Why bitcoin? I think bitcoin is first digital currency. Indeed not everyone can invest in bitcoin but it's not make it useless. Is another coin can be number 1 in coinmarketcap? I think it can because there's nothing imposible. And question is can cryptocurrency stand without bitcoin? My answer is not, Why? Because without bitcoin there's will be no cryptocurrency.
