Well, BTC is the king for the market. I think this will never happen. ETH will be more expensive at the end of 2018 for sure. But BTC will be far expensive. It is BTC market and how good they are the others will remain as "altcoins" for some more time.

It could reach BTC value but I would not expect that bitcoin would remain a dead end without any growth, so this would be a coin that would not have the same value at the end of it all with bitcoin. They will all keep growing and we all know how domineering bitcoin is in the market, so I may want to consider that as well. Nevertheless, they both have potential, so I would not discard anyone.

Probably not,ethereum didnt solve what BTC's problems it wont happen in the future,more altcoins has a lot of advance tech with these two giant coins they are the new candidates to take the BTC's position.

And here I doubt that the etherium will catch up with bitcoins for the price. Bitcoin in the future will remain the first in price. And no altcoin can not prevotiti. But this is my opinion and you can disagree with him.

I'm sure it can and it will in 2018. The question is if bitcoin stops raising. Then it will be even more easier for ethereum  

BTC is the window of investment.
As long as the market size continues to expand, beginners first buy BTC.
However, if more exchanges can purchase ETH directly using USD or EUR, the ETH will soar.

ETH price is rising fast and right now it's more than BTC price in January 6, 2017. Maybe someday it will beat bitcoin's price, specially now that BTC ain't suitable for small payments no more (softwares-games-...).

Well ethereum reaching bitcoin value is very hard as bitcoins supply is limited which is around 21 million but ethereum has a huge supply.Ethereum do have potential to rise more but bitcoins demand and price is very huge compared to ethereum if bitcoins prices has dropped due to some reasons like very high transactions fees or etc then ethereum has some chance as people will switch to next best coin which is ethereum but bitcoins with people supporting it is just invincible i think.

Maybe in the future who knows we can't predict what will happen in the next year's but maybe eth will get closer to the price of the bitcoin

The real question is - can anything? Bitcoin has a really high value and it will continue to rise, maybe even to around 100.000 USD.

Let's see if any share or currency had such a big value in the history.

Record holder for shares is Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A), which is trading around $300,000 per share (with around 1.200.000 of them issued; there are also class B shares with around 15.000.000 issued and value around 200 USD, just to note).

Let's try and compare Bitcoin to Warren Buffett's share.

Bitcoin is currently worth around 17.000 USD with 16,785,462 of them in circulation.
WB is worth around 300.000 USD wih 1.200.000 in circulation.

Let's roughly devide WB with 16 (Bitcoin is 14 x more scarce). We get around 21.400 USD. So it does have a higher comparable value when comparing with Bitcoin. However, as I previously noted, Bitcoin could go much up, and I predict 100.000 EUR. Then for sure it will be the highest valued individual thing ever (well, except maybe Neymar).

So the final question would be - can we really predict anything about it when it will be a unique thing in human history (if it is not already)? Not at all.

On the down note, I believe that nothing will be able to surpass Bitcoin for the time being. Bitcoin is still a synonim for Bitcoin market which has yet to accept many new investors and they will continue to invest mainly into Bitcoin. However, Bitcoins market share will gradually decrease and we will se what will a distant future bring.

If eth gets more support than the bitcoin community then eth can surpass bitcoin. It all depends on how much support each crypto gets from the people. But I cant see it happening just yet. Maybe years from now.

I think it is not possible but it will makes time or years to overcome bitcoin. If the ethereum reach the marketing of the bitcoin then it is not possible to reach the bitcoin. Bitcoin has a good investors and there is many investors as well ethereum but in ethereum should be more consistent and more stable to have more investors and can reach bitcoin. Many people are interested in investing in other coins so it may cause in investing in ethereum let us predict that it can be closer to bitcoin. Nothin can say what will happen in the future.

No it cant. Its just like to say "a Dollar might overcome the gold". Ethereum is an altcoin and it's based on Bitcoin, its not competing it.

If we look at the amount of market capitalization, Ethereum currently has a $100 bn market cap for about $ 1000 price. Let's say the number of market caps represents the current price, so if we multiply the current market cap by 3, and so will the current price multiplied 3. the result will exceed the current bitcoin market cap, but the price does not even reach half of the bitcoin price. I don't think that's possible. Unless bitcoin has drastically decreased in price.

I think it can, if it becomes more widely accepted, although this could take years to happen but anything can happen if more people use it in future because it has great potentials, remember Bitcoin didn't reach it's current value in a year.

Yes it could but not any time soon. it will take a while. More people will join crypto space this year and alot of new project will be build on etherum network
and more gas will be used to drive eth value to go up more and more. so i am looking at eth closing at 10k by year end.

No ethereum will not reach bitcoin position because of huge supply where bitcoin is having limited supply 21 million once it is mined then no coins will be generated Mined coins will only circulated . But etherum is having huge supply .

Maybe we just wait and see how superior ETH technology is to bitcoin. These are two different projects and I do not see why because of that ETH would take over. Have you also taken the time to read about the lightening network, probabaly if you do, you will have more reason to believe that this is a game no altcoin can win at the end of the day as bitcoin have more advantages over all the alts?
