Eth has so much potential. If it will continue to rise its market cap while btc is still dropping, then that is the only time we can say that it will reach the top. But eth also decreases as btc decreases. Eth's price drops 20% after 20hrs.
But nevertheless, eth is used as a medium of exchange by many services here, and honestly i prefer also eth.

Well it still doesn’t look like it’s goin to happen. Bitcoin took so many punch it’s right but I think it will recover from this. We are talking about bitcoin after all. It’s the pioneer of crypto world.
It has all the prerequisites to not only overtake Bitcoin, but also to overtake. Bitcoin was the first, but by today's standards it's already a mammoth. He is still big and formidable, but it no longer fits into the present realities. The current world requires more and more new technologies and principles that can not be realized by Bitcoin. Time will pass (perhaps even this year) and Bitcoin will relinquish his positions to Ethereum. This is common practice. The strongest survives. It works not only in the animal kingdom, but also in the world of technology and economics.
And that for you the top of the ether is interesting. Or you like everything before choosing between the two grands in the world cripto, so you should not think of taking the ether.
for now I believe in ethereum because has better transaction speed and stability when transaction costs are lower when compared to bitcoin and the best part is its stability. although it can not compete with bitcoin I believe that ethereum will be the best 2nd coin.
Ethereum never on the top. we are know, that Bitcoin always number one even though the price, sometimes decline by drastic. Ethereum will be the second altcoins that many fans. I think Ethereum will be the best than another altcoin.
Think it can. It's only one green today, it's strong stable coin. Maybe in a couple of years we will see him on top.

I believe ethereum can reach the top, the movement might not be fast but it will rise to the top eventually. Ethereum has good projects under it and the community supporting it is big, given the stability and steady increase of ethereum. Ethereum could really rival with bitcoin due to its solid platform and supporters. That's why I believe that Ethereum will eventually reach the top.
in my opinion it may be possible because if seen from the beginning Ethereum develop very quickly maybe in the coming year will lead the market.
Thats very possible because bitcoin is declining too hard,the investors are starting to doubt if bitcoin's price will be the same as last year's movements,probably they will find another alternative like ethereum.
Even if bitcoin is down today and i have to choose between these two giant cryptos, then i still choose bitcoin. It's a long way for ETH before it can even get closer to BTC. And if these cryptos have ICOs today, i will invest on them both. 
Perhaps not so long will be such a situation in the market! Over the last month, bitcoin suffers a big fall, which can not be said about the ether! It is possible that the course of bitcoin will fall before the ETH course! Price of Btc is keep going down.

Ofcourse ETH the one I will choose because almost of the ICOs now are on ETH network and ETH is the one you need so you can participate on their private sale or crowd sale. Those ICOs under ETH network has a very big potential this year.
I was always of the opinion that companies that are trying to come up with the next iteration of the blockchain would supersede ether. however, seeing how strongly it has held up during this last drop and the exponential number of ICOs being run on its platform, I'm starting to believe that we will see etherium replace bitcoin from its top position. Unless EOS decides to dump all of its ETH at the end of their ICOs.
Yes ofcourse,ethereum has a solid platform which started these smart contracts,most of the new altcoins are based in ethereum chain,also it has a big community like bitcoin has,so why would any coin will replace bitcoin?ethereum would be a first over these shitcoins.
Surely ethereum can do that,when the time bitcoin's investors are tired of these pumps and dumps market,they will find a better coin which has more stable price than Bitcoin,and im sure ethereum would be the first on their list,it has good community and a solid platform,so why not?
It's interesting question... currently seeing to both ETH and BTC graphs I can observe ETH now is taking it's own way, of course this not will be relevant until ETH/BTC pairs disappear, but many big things can begin to happen if it become a reality.
ethereum could possibly take over the top ranking in the market cap. It has so much going for it. So many tokens are build on the Eth platform.
