Of a truth, loneliness or being isolated all the time is bad because you will take some nasty decisions that might endanger your life without anyone noticing. So far as gambling is concerned, it is important you relate your gambling habits to someone you can trust because sometimes you can lose a bet and fall into depression without anyone noticing so at that material time it will really be dangerous to ones health because your thoughts will be filled with so many negativity but if someone knows about your gambling habits they can check up on you from time to time to know if you're fine or not.
very precise understanding.
someone who is lonely may have a very small mindset, I mean someone who is lonely has no one to talk to when they are sad usually their mindset is only focused on something bad like gambling to cheer themselves up but instead they get a losing streak and their thoughts encourage them to gamble continuously, because of emotional impulses and feeling lonely, he will continue to do these bad things and with things like this you have to pay attention when you are lonely, try to look for other alternatives to find entertainment besides gambling.

In this case, it's actually just about how an adult's mindset responds to loneliness and an adult's mindset when they're lonely will always find time to keep themselves busy so they dont get lonely or look for a side job and with these few examples we can conclude that loneliness can make a person Gamblers are addicted but you can't make people addicted depending on your mindset.

however, if someone has experienced this or is a little addicted, it's not too serious, just tell all the problems to a friend or family member first, then ask for help to overcome all these problems. If it's not too serious, I'm sure it will be easier to cure.

This depends on the gambler in question, if a responsible gambler is lonely, I don't think that he will see gambling as something that will free him from loneliness. Why I said this is because a discipline gamble will have his time limit that he uses to gamble and as long he is gambling on his lonely time, he will stop gambling was his time limited is over.

It is a gambler that cannot control his gambling activities that will use his loneliness as an excuse to game all through and we all know that gamblers that cannot discipline themselves will end up becoming an addict through any means, either by chasing his loss or passing away time with gambling. If you are lonely, go and chill with your friends or go to the cinema and enjoy yourself but not with gambling.

I think it is right to set the record straight that gambling in itself is addictive. Especially when you  are already deeply rooted to gambling or you do it for fun and it will become a part of  you. So since it is highly addictive, then loneliness can ignite your urge to gamble some more.

I have friends back then that were into online betting of sports odds, like football. And will go to the extent of saving their pocket money to be able to afford some money they can use to stake odds and it's really that addictive and terrible. Now, since it's not everyone that have the mental capacity to hold disappointments and tensions, this could lead to mental issues for some people.
There is nothing loneliness can not do, it can make us to do undo and involve ourselves in something that is not going to affect us positively in the future. We need to make sure that we deal with loneliness and involve ourselves in something that is profitable so that we are not going to become desperate or do things without thorough thinking. We can involve ourselves in so many things to make sure that we are not lonely so that we don't ignorantly involve ourselves with something that is going to cause problem for us in the future.

Some people who experience having a bad day prefers to be alone to think of their mistakes and decision. They think it's normal but for sure it would only lead to overthinking which will lead to depression, suicide, affecting health, etc. From your way of solving this kind of problem by telling someone about your gambling habits, I mean it is a good way for people to be aware of you in case there's an emergency and they need someone to talk to. But, what if you have trusted the wrong person that you think they might help you? Or they might help you in a wrong way that can only worsen your situation like for example, they advice you to take a loan to recover your loss in gambling? I'm only saying that if you're gonna find someone that's gonna help you, much better to seek help from a professional like a doctor or therapist.

Yes, because if we're talking about depression here and not just general loneliness that everyone feels every now and then that means that there's people out there that feels this and so they want to have an outlet or something to vent out what their feeling or to feel something.

It goes like this: depression and then the need to find purpose or joys in life and when they feel something in that stuff that makes them less happy, they never want to stop doing that but they have to sometime because they're limited in resources and so they end up doing lots of stuff and end up getting addicted to that temporary joy from the thing that make them feel something which is in this case is gambling.

That's why if someone feels lonely or isolated, as you said, they must find a way out before it worsens. The advice we can give is to look for people around him and start telling him about his problems and if he is really lonely, he can ask for help from people to invite him to do something so that his mind can be diverted. By doing something, he won't feel lonely and usually, if people feel lonely, it's because they don't have anything to do. He will feel that his life looks monotonous without any significant changes, so this must end immediately, and the solution is not to come to the casino and start gambling. But he must be able to do something that can keep him busy so that his mind can be distracted and he won't feel lonely. Some people prefer to join a charity where they can finally interact with people and do something useful there. And that will eliminate his loneliness because, from day to day, he will become busier and busier taking care of it, and it will not occur to him to gamble.
Indeed, loneliness may be difficult, and meaningful activities can help. Recognizing that everyone's journey is different is vital. As you said, joining a charity may be a lifeline for some; it gives them purpose and a sense of belonging. For others, the solution may be more complicated. Consider gambling. While typically perceived negatively, especially in the context of addiction, it can be a source of social contact and leisure if done responsibly. I've known people who enjoy occasional, limited gambling and community. Balance and self-awareness matter.

While avoiding casinos is a good idea, not all gamblers become addicted. Some use it to socialize and get a thrill. The objective is to promote healthy gambling and provide support for those who need it.

Isolation leads to catastrophe, especially when gambling is involved. Are you in control of your gambling? Think again. In solitude, pessimism breeds, especially after a loss. This isn't just bad news; it's potentially life-threatening. Depression, anxiety, and financial ruin - a horrible mix you're drinking alone. That's a recipe for catastrophe

Gambling isn't just a villain in this story. It may be fun, strategic, and risky if handled well. Fun and safe. You need a knowledgeable wingman. This person is part of your strategy, not just damage control. Making sure gambling doesn't become a negative force, they help make it fun. They're your check and balance, keeping gambling fun. Like fire, gambling can warm or burn your house. Avoid playing matches alone

That's why it is very important to consult to medical specialist to get a clinical diagnosis,  also for us to know what things to avoid. Mental health check up is very important for us because sometimes we didn't know to ourself that we already have that kind of mental illness. When it comes to gambling and you've experienced any downsides about it, It's better to have someone to talk to so that you can vent out all your frustations. it's better to say it than to keep it to yourself for a long time because it might worsen the effect on your mental health.

that's possible. Those who don't feel like they have many friends and want to find them, usually some people will go to gambling sites or communities, it helps them get lots of friends, of course this is an exchange. you get friends they get money. that was the exchange. If we think we will make good friends there, it seems impossible. The most likely thing is that we will be the same as them as gambling addicts. I usually when I'm lonely I'll look for something new like technology to limit my gambling. it's quite helpful as long as I don't get addicted like they once did.
Not only not having friends but loneliness in any way, such as not having a caring family, not having a life partner, not having friends, which causes a person to experience loneliness, especially for introverted people who have difficulty communicating with other people. It is true that gambling when lonely actually causes addiction. If those who are lonely cannot control themselves they will continue to gamble until their balance runs out to cover up their loneliness. If they are already addicted then things will be worse where the gambler has no friends to remind them so it will cause frustration and loss of contro. And it could also be a factor in causing someone to attempt suicide for those who are tired of living a life that is broken and lonely.

I too have experienced loneliness, but it's best not to gamble which will harm myself, it's better to do other activities to avoid loneliness, there are many things we can do, visit a friend's house or go on holiday. And for those who don't have a partner, they can try to find ways to get to know each other with other people via social media so that this will distract your mind from gambling.

I have experienced to be lonely, and from my experience, being lonely is addictive especially when you can do almost everything you can be it gambling, alcohol, solo traveling, and many more. Sometimes those things are just the effect of being lonely, I come to think that these things are practically reversed. It is not the gambling, drugs, alcohol that makes us addictive, it is because of being free from other people and the real addiction is the feeling of being lonely.

The gambler who was lonely without any friends companion will do the gambling without any control. The gambler also get into the drinking by adding of the more thrill to the gambling game. But some gamblers will enjoy of the drinking during the gambling. Most of the gamblers had the drinking or smoking habit at the time of gambling, this was because they were stress at some loss in the gambling site. The gamblers think this habit will reduce some stress in their game. But the fact is that drinking will make them the random betting in the gambling site,Finally it will become your habit. So it will bring you more happiness by play with some drinks.

If you are lonely, can you have interest in gambling simply because of your loneliness?

How would you judge someone who says they don't gamble because it's fun, is that a sign of a gambling addiction?

If you are making $600 a day, that's $20000 in a month, and because you are only you start having interest to gamble, what do you think this is?

All these questions is been asked because someone close said all these and I think he are losing money and losing himself too, of all the discussions we had, these are the points I held unto.

Later he open up to have been using $500 for gambling per day, he said all these started when his wife left him, that he isn't into gambling at all, but I can't ask why his wife left him in the first place, but does loneliness make people become addicted to gambling or it's something else.

Yes!
Loneliness can lead a person to fall into a world of addictions, often including alcohol, gambling, pornography and smoking.

In the case of addictions to online games, this is entirely possible because the practicality and agility provided by the web cause some users to become isolated from the real world, leading them to seek refuge in digital and electronic media from everyday problems.

You didn't comment on this person's age, but teenagers and young people are the profile most susceptible to the ease and vices of the internet.
A very normal kind of reactions on which on the time that you would really be having that kind of feeling when it comes to sadness or loneliness then it would really be just that normal that you would really be finding things on which you would really be that able to ease out that boredom or getting lonely on which it is really just that part of human instinct that you would be finding up some things that would really be easing out that kind of boredom or loneliness on which people might be ending up on dealing with gambling or with some other activities on which it would really be able to make them that forget on the things that they've been currently experiencing. Interest would be the greatest factor onto this one on which if someone is really that interested with gambling then most
likely they would really be going into this path.

That's right.

Your loneliness trying to find something to do that can fill up and remove it temporarily. That's why in gambling, there are many lonely people if you ask them that they're doing it for recreation.

But when the time is due and they don't notice the effect of it, they're doing much to the point that they're noticing themselves that they suffer from addiction.

Even though you are right and there could be much people with problems with loneliness in gambling, so there could be people with such problems as well in other kind of activities, like drinking or addiction to videogames, among other things.
This thread and the comments of many on here it could be taken too literally and give out the impression all lonely people end up resorting to gambling or a good percentage of gamblers suffer from loneliness, which I doubt is true.
I am more inclined to assume or believe most of gambler are actually under control and can keep good relationships wit their family members, their partners. There are so many stereotypes applies to gamblers, to the point the stigma of people like us which like to wager some money from time to time cannot easily talk about it in some contexts, countries and cultures.
Well, if it's about the general people that have been lonely and trying to find something they think will help them cope up with loneliness.

You're right that it is doubting that all of the lonely people are finding their happiness with gambling. We can just say that it is in general that lonely people tries to find something that can help them get over the situation.

Have you personally ever felt lonely and because of it log onto your gambling account? I have not, one needs to avoid to enter a casino which felling down, otherwise one gets used to it as a copying mechanism...
It varies from lonely people, it's possible that some of us are and you're right that some others like you don't.

Yes, loneliness can make one a gambling addict. Loneliness can make one become addicted to other things like drugs, alcohol, sex, and masturbation, so it's the same thing with gambling.
I agree, gambling is not different from those things, and everything can be addictive when not used or taken moderately.

When you're lonely and unhappy, you begin to look for things to fill up your time and reduce the sadness. This happens subconsciously most times because you don't make a conscious effort to look for these things, it's just what your mind wants.

By doing various kinds of activities, people will not feel lonely, especially if they can do activities that connect with others. This will help them communicate with other people so that something will be created from this activity or there will even be cooperation between them. This will allow people who feel lonely never to feel lonely again because they have other activities.
The point is to never be alone and feel lonely, look for friends and do activities to have fun, there are many games out there that can be played as well as other hobbies that can be played not only in gambling, don't always think that gambling is a very fun game, there are many in this world fun games that can be played besides gambling, for example playing football or other sports activities with friends or family.

As long as it is done consistently there will be no desire to gamble because if you are alone and feel lonely there will definitely be something you want to do in gambling, for example trying to use a new strategy or something else, it's best to forget about that and do other activities to enjoy life more because gambling is not the end goal. from eliminating feelings of loneliness.

Gambling could actually deal with our loneliness when we apply wisdom to how we approach it, there are people who have taken opportunity from gambling to avoid being lonely and use gambling as a means of getting themselves engage and have fun at the same time, we can also believe that there's opportunity in gambling and we can always make use of them to make ourselves feels comfortable with the way we live our lives when we are a responsible gambler.

I have friends back then that were into online betting of sports odds, like football. And will go to the extent of saving their pocket money to be able to afford some money they can use to stake odds and it's really that addictive and terrible. To tell you the truth, there are people whom I know who are gambling addicts or are very close to it. Some of them are married and have families and  some of them live alone. So, in my experience, there is no direct correlation between gambling addiction and loneliness. It depends on the type of person more. Just my 2c.

We are not saying that a person who has a family, a wife or close friends can't be a gambling addict. Yes, there are people who has a lot of gathering around them, who are very social but still they are gambling addicts.

The point is that a person who is alone has more probability to get addicted as compared to the one who has a company around him.
Anybody can get addicted to gambling but a lonely person may have more chances because he has no other entertainment around him else gambling.

If a person has family, sometimes the responsibilities won't let him play excessive gambling but when a person is alone. there is no hurdle for him to gamble all day and night.
