Suddenly time logged in stopped at 34 mins... and it's been like 2 hours

I think you have to be actively browsing. Just being logged in for 4 hours wont count.

So, I get to create my first post in the newbie section.

I hope this serves as proof to the admin that I'm not a bot. Just hope in the next 4 hours my batteries don't fully deplete.

I was confused at first too. I think we need a forced redirect to the thread describing these restrictions before allowing general forum access. I see other boards do this with no problems, I think it's a relatively simple script.

Having just joined I can see why you have this rule but can you not make it more obvious during the registration period?

Took me ages to find out why I couldn't do anything - I thought I missed a registration confirmation email or something.

It`s better to implement some small test. To understand if person is newbie on crypts or not.

I like the system, I just wish I wasn't so ignorant of it.
I wanted to post for a group buy and I will probably miss it due to me being stupid.

Lesson learned.

Newbie Restrictions
You can only post in the Newbie and Local sub-forums till you have made one post and waited 4 hours. This post must be substantial: at least several sentences. The other two restrictions are you need 1 post to be able to send a PM and 10 posts to put a link in your sig.  You can only post once every 360 seconds to start and there are a few other things that trigger this timer such as logging in and searching.
