Of course you can, but it is a really hard job, and if the stealer is smart, It would be almost impossible to track them
This is the problem once the wallet has been hacked we cannot refund our hard earned money. Only we can see the history of a transaction in the blockchain. The very important thing to do is to secure your wallet and never share your private keys and other details just to be safe.

hello all,how are u all,
a friend was scammed of a huge amount of btc,and i want to know if one can retract a btc already in another wallet, thank u

First off, your title is not in sync with your main thread's OP. Tracing is quite different from reversing a transaction. Anyway I would just answer both.

First, tracing stolen BTC. It is possible, however it will be hard depending on the skill of the scammer. If he would be using tumblers and mixers, then you would definitely have a hard time tracing where your funds went to. Especially if the mixer does not cooperate in case an investigation asks them for the logs of the transactions, which of course will not be released since that is against what a mixer really is.

Second, retracting or reversing a transaction. The very feature of bitcoins is it being irreversible. If it was easily reversed then that would mean a lot of transactions will just definitely disappear and that would also mean it will be an unreliable system. Since there is no central government to bitcoins, there would be no mediator in case of a dispute and someone wants to reverse a transaction.

it could be if they had the quail
but if not certain it will not be
the most important is how we use it
do not get careless, because from here the problem will start when you are careless and dirty in using it

the only thing you can trace is the transactions. you can see them on the blockchain to see where the money is going. what you can't do is to telling who does those addresses (that are receiving the funds) belong to.
you can also use walletexplorer or one of the paid "blockchain analysis" services. but don't get your hopes up.

and no, you can not "retract" bitcoin if you have already sent it and the transaction is confirmed. there is no charge back or undo button in bitcoin.
The only one can trace transaction that could have an issue on regards to transaction is the one who have manage to transact. Because if you are going to deal with transaction you are capable on seeing the transaction through block chain and if fail to success you could check in the blockchain.

there no refund in bitcoin its possible but nearly impossible to get back your friends bitcoin
you can just track where the bitcoin will go using blockchain and walletexplorer
if they send bitcoin to the exchange you can try to contact the exchange same with the other platform  but it will be hard to get reply

It's too hard to track stolen Bitcoin, especially nowadays. He has probably put it through a mixer a couple of times and when you just track the address it's empty.

Keep your bitcoin safer next time and use hardware wallets as they are almost impossible to crack.

You cannot retract BTC and you cannot really trace it if the thief knows what he is doing. Sorry for the bad news.

Yes to a certain extent you can trace stolen bitcoin, there are forensic tools available that will allow you to trace the money flow. People think bitcoin is anonymous but it's really not. Especially for the guy who used the dark web and thought they were immune it showed they can get caught.

Thats why alt coins like xvg or pivx in my opinion are going to be important, privacy is gonna be huge in future.

As you know bitcoins from mtgox were tracked to btc-e so stolen money possibly can be found but it depends on the amount and other details. I think your friend can get his bitcoins back only if the amount is big and scamer will be in the same jurisdiction.

As others have already posted, you can only track where it has been sent, although, that is not enough to even find the person who stole your Bitcoin. Stolen BTC cannot be retracted if stolen, unfortunately.

A similar case with yours had appeared a few days ago, but as I mentioned before, not much can be done for your assistance.

Of course you can trace the stolen bitcoin, but it is 110% impossible to recovery them. At the end bitcoins will be sented to an exchanger and converted into real cash. That is the biggest disadvantage of bitcoin, but in the same time is an advantage for some of us. When you consider using Bitcoin you got to take is the advantages but also the disadvantages.

Yes, it can be visibly seen in the blockchain and track the movement of your friends' stolen coin. However, you can't do anything or recover it. They can just used a a tumbler or mixing service then transfer it to another wallet without a trace. Unless you hire a blockchain forensic like ChainAnalysis but you will need to shoulder the payment and I bet its not cheap. I think this is the software that IRS is using to track individual who doesn't pay their taxes. Sorry to break the bad news, but you can't get your friend's bitcoin back.

Just can watch the transaction happening between end users. Here we cannot do anything until the concern person thinks of return it to us. I got encountered the same problem, but was not able to do anything even after I have the access watching the movement of bitcoin from one btc address to the other.

No it is almost impossible to track down bitcoin transactions if the one who have stole it haven't left any digital footprint by mistake. Bitcoin provides anonymity but sometimes this feature makes its perfect tool for hackers and scammers.

The only thing we can trace is where all those bitcoin ended up also this can't be accurate always.

I heard this from one of the support team of Paxful when I
got scammed.

They traced the IP and transaction. Turns out it was a big time scammer.
They froze the other accounts and awarded me the btc.

Not sure with the specifics but that's how they said it when I asked for details.

Biggest mistake in crypto is that there is no "cancel" after transaction is done.
You can trace, you can even find the IP of wallet but that is all you can do.
