According to the rules of the forum, account sales are allowed but those are discouraged.

18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.

Holy crap--I haven't actually looked at the rules of the forum for a long time and didn't realize there was anything in them about account sales.  If I'm not mistaken, there never used to be any official (or unofficial) discouragement and it was only around 2016 when account sales really started to become a problem and very much frowned upon by the community.  Interesting.

Well I still can't believed someone will go buy an account that is not originally created by them, how and why would they involved themselves with such deals knowing too well the implication involved buying account that is already been used by another user.

Yeah, well....there are a lot of good (read:bad) reasons why someone would buy a high-ranked account, preferably green-trusted.  I think that scam Master-P pulled off a few years ago was done with a purchased account, but my memory might be failing me on that one.  In any case, I'm sure you get my point.  If you're doing a trade with someone you think is a trusted member of the community based on their feedback, and it turns out that the account changed hands and is now controlled by a scammer, well, you're screwed.

Does anyone notice this user also perform SEO spam on Press board since lasy year? I've tried report one of the thread, but it stays "Unhandled". AFAIK CoinIdol got banned due to very aggressive SEO spam[1], so IMO it's time do that again.

It should only be done if all the sources are from the same website.

I did quick search and found out he create at least 111 threads since November 2023[1]. Using Ctrl-F, i found 107 of them contain word "bitcoin.com" while few others doesn't mention any link[2]. Any if you exclude starting date, i also found out he did similar thing for different website on year 2015[3].

I noticed it obviously, since I recently posted in this topic about his new weird activity.
All his posts are copy-paste news articles, with added one or two worthless one-line sentences posted in different boards.
However, I don't think this is enough to ban him just yet.

Nice auction. Good luck.

It's a nice chip card.

Do you have custom designs as well?

My suggestion> Why not theymos implement a new law that any account found (suspected and proven) changed of hand should be locked
According to the rules of the forum, account sales are allowed but those are discouraged. Since the account sales are allowed by the forum and that's why I don't think that Theymos will take any action to make a rule like that. However, it's a good suggestion if implemented, but again I don't think that Theymos is going to change the current rules.

Perhaps they think that they will never be caught.

My suggestion> Why not theymos implement a new law that any account found (suspected and proven) changed of hand should be locked otherwise, if they are the real owner they should come with evidence maybe with the first bitcoin address or with the first mail associated with account with this, the forum will total discourage and eliminate account selling since they now knows the implication involved. With this forum may limit people falling victim of scam or dealing with untrusted users.
It's already in place. Once the account's email is changed, the old email address will get a notification containing a link to lock the account if clicked on. Once the account is locked. It can only be recovered by writing to the cryptios team.

Admins and mods don't want to involve themselves in community disputes, which could involved hunting for accounts that just changed hands since the forum still Okays having multiple accounts.

Don't joke with my Daughter
Account sales were pretty common back then, especially since most lenders accepted accounts as collateral. I wouldn't be surprised if the account has been sold multiple times since 2010.

This account looks to already be tagged and flagged from the last change of ownership, so I doubt anyone would do any sort of business with them. If they did, hopefully they use an escrow at least. The account is worthless as is regardless as well.

Who knows if the original own has used the account to scam someone and decided to sell it away to some random users? Maybe the lazy person who goes buying might feels so happy for having a Legendary account without knowing the account has been soiled by the first owner.

I noticed member chmod755 woke up again and he is spamming like crazy, usually he is posting copy-paste articles every few minutes.
He is mostly posting worthless news articles and he started doing that since last year November when he woke up, maybe account changed hands yet again.

One example of his posting habits:

That's not a problem, I am not doing business here and I don't care if I am considered "untrustworthy" in this shithole full of scams (bitcointalk wasn't like that when I started...  Roll Eyes)

When exactly did you started and what are all your other previously used bitcointalk accounts?
Changing avatar and location in your profile will not help you very much.
Most shit in this forum is from people like you.

Hello, I am the original owner / registrant (PGP signed with my key from Bitcoin OTC)

I am not doing business here. An online friend borrowed this account so he could get a few $ more in signature campaigns.

Well, giving your account to an "online friend" to make money sounds like business and you cared enough to come up with that excuse. That's a pretty solid contribution to making it a shithole.

We've heard that excuse before. Even if this is true, it makes you untrustworthy just the same so you didn't need to bother with PGP.

I would trust him more than this member

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5190369.20

Do you trust him?

What about laudas deliberate grafting in copy and paste into his own paragraphs

Are you trusting them?

No more double standards punishment

Apply the same standards to your friends as everyone else.

A lot of members are just Hippocrates that see only what they want to see and create what they want to see, they keep control and their high stats, not everyone, but there is a lot of people like this here.

The op loves my poetry, so another one for him:
Quote
Welcome to the free world Where nothing's as it seems to Tell me, can you find a cure When you can't see, and you can't feel the disease Can you seek a higher truth When you're living on your knees
Where freedom grows from blood-soaked soil In the lands of hypocrisy
- Crushed, Parkway Drive

The problem is money for most of them or popularity. Or fear of busting the most dangerous scammers. Weakness or just evil who can say. This one I have not taken note of yet.

They want to make a name for themselves " busting the untrustworthy or high financial risk members"
Or so they say

But they dont give one shit about the forum.

They never dare hold DT to their same standards? Why?

Because they want to keep spamming their sigs or remain popular

Pushing double standards is just like scamming ...you are lying in effect.

When he holds nutildah and lauda to his spoken standards then we can consider his points as being genuine.

I see all of this " scammer" hunting bullshit they do as destroying their financial competition or anyone that points out their free speech crushing double standards

Dont beg forgiveness nor seek to join with them. Crush them all and their sponsors unless they will work transparent rules that ensures every member is treated equally. No more scammers punishing whistleblowers here.

Tell the op to consider your actions in the full context of nutildah and lauda
Then we will see who we can trust more.

People need to unite against DT double standards scammer supporters... I dont know if the op wants to deliberately push double standards but we will find out when we see if he is willing to appraise your trustworthiness in the context of others he does trust.

Does he want the entire truth or just some partitioned truth that rings false when reviewing all of his actions.

I cant say who to trust but I can see double standards and I can see proven scammers.

Similar not equal, the is a few different words in all sentences if you guys do translation but looks like didn't posted here, of course its possible to find similar content through the internet this does not mean that is copied.

You are so very wrong!

  • Plagiarism: If you copy some text from somewhere, then you should have a good reason for it, and you must link to the source. Doing otherwise is plagiarism. Changing a few words around doesn't matter. If we find that you plagiarized, then you absolutely will be permanently banned, even if we find it years after you did it.

All of the following are considered plagiarism:
-turning in someone else's work as your own
-copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit
-failing to put a quotation in quotation marks
-giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation
-changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit
-copying so many words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your work, whether ---you give credit or not (see our section on "fair use" rules)

You LIAR.
What I posted is 100% PLAGIARISM
And you have been again accused not just in bitcointalk forum, but in other platforms also!!

SHAME ON YOU THIEF !!!

Miners use tons of electricity to process transactions, and the general assumption is that miners directly sell their newly created bitcoins to cover their costs. Almost everyone knows that after the halving, not 1800 bitcoins, but only 900 bitcoins are supplied to the market daily.
This change is believed to have a positive effect on the price of bitcoin.
If the price of bitcoin does not increase after the block is rewarded by half, the miners revenue calculated in $ will decrease. This means that they will have trouble covering their costs, and that will cause miners with the highest electricity costs to leave the market first. The reduction in electricity consumption to maintain the network means that the difficulty of processing a block of transactions will decrease.
Theoretically, this means that it would be easier to attack the blockchain network and create 51% of attacks.

What do you think?
