It might make sense if a government banned or at least limits something they can not control. But I think they are also considering the potential of existing technology. And it may be that the government that currently forbids crypto, is the country that officially issued its own digital currency.
No they can. That is the simplest answer. If they can kill Cryptos, they would have done it from inception but by now, I'm sure the world government will also be getting in the line to join the moving wave now.

yes the world government has the capability to kill crypto. as we can all witness like time, they just have to spread any false information about crypto, then it will highly affect the market.
crypto business has become a global business, many people who have known and followed the crypto business even though their country forbids it because this business can be done in various ways so I think the world government can not shut down this crypto business

In case most countries regulated the cryptocurrency I believe investors can still earn. Of course the government may not impose stiff regulations againts the digital currency. The income may get low but not low enough that investors will lose big time.
The government can by issuing new rules and regulations. It can impose laws against the cryptocurrencies but cannot stop them. It can put restrictions on money earned by the cryptocurrencies may it an illegal tender!

I think that Bitcoin's ban and cryptocurrencys will warm up even more interest and popularity from ordinary people. I think that's why they are trying to regulate, not ban. Agree, any government within its jurisdiction can ban crypto just to protect the interest of its people most especially for the ramphant scamming activity.

Governments cant kill drugs which have physical form for centuries.

Yes i agree to that, the cost of living today is very expensive and that is the reason why people are looking for another way of earning money and cryptocurrency is the answer because we can live a wealthy life if we are going to invest on bitcoins.
Crypto currency could be destroyed when it was only just beginning to appear, it is now impossible. True, it is still possible for governments to significantly limit the extent of its passage.
I think that this is impossible to do because of the fact that Crypto currency is completely anonymous and decentralized!
