Some of the cryptos can be taken down through a 51% attack. But I seriously doubt whether the governments will do that, because it takes a lot of effort. And also, even if they take down one currency, another is going to emerge.

I don’t believe that world goviare actively attempting to destroy crypto currencies, but they do want to be in control of the path it takes, not to lose control over the people. Blockchain and cryptos offer solutions not available to governments before; and in turn offers the People a way to have greater control over their information and wealth.

They cannot kill cryptocurrency, if Government of one's country wants his citizens to refrain from crypto related activities they can only restrict them by passing some laws against crypto & shutting down exchanges in their own country. But people can still find a way to do crypto transaction like by traveling to other countries. Crypto can be killed by Governments only if all countries of the world get united with each other and take action against cryptos. But it won't happen all governments can never be united with each other as they always have some political barriers & legal issues between them.

There is a lot of pressure from countries that forbid Bitcoin, but we must see on the other hand that Bitcoin still has exsis opportunities in the future. Bitcoin Opportunities in Front
These variables influence the recognition of bitcoin as a means of payment. On December 2, 2013, the Central Bank of China prohibited financial institutions handle transactions with bitcoin. In the same month, European banking authorities, EBA, warned that bitcoin had no means of consumer protection. Iceland has even declared illegal bitcoin. In contrast, a number of other countries only see opportunities from bitcoin. Germany has recognized the use of bitcoin. He is also warmly welcomed in Australia. The British Tax Authority, HMRC, mentioned that although bitcoin may not be treated as official money, it may be taxed. Finnish, Norwegian, and several others, although it does not recognize bitcoin as money but treats it as a taxable asset. Major countries tend to take such a step. They will impose a tax on bitcoin, but do not recognize it as 'money' per se.

Governments cannot kill cryptocurrencies entirely, and in general they can slow growth because they are decentralized.

I have always believed that blockchain and bitcoin are our future.

I don't think that's going to happen in near future. What they can do or have done so far is to make monetary system or regulations to watch over the people using cryptocurrency. Otherwise anything which is internet based can't simply be diminished by the governments
some governments have some legislative work, which can greatly hinder the activity of users of crypto currency. In any case, they pursue one goal, complete Monopoly on the crypto-currency market within the state.

The world’s government won’t kill this market. On the contrary, the government will try to seize at least a part of this market by all means.

I'm sure not. Strongly to spoil life can of course. but it will not be possible to close completely. Decentralization is reaching an increasing number of areas. And cryptocurrencies will soon become a convenient way of payment.

Yeah I think so, if all countries made it illegal then any real sort of adoption would become too difficult.

Some countries can influence the development of crypto currency within the country, create legal norms or restrictions, but it is impossible to prohibit it all over the world. In addition, there were already tops of the summits countries, where it was said that the crypto-currencies do not pose a threat to the world economy.

I don't think world government can kill crypto. They can influence and affect crypto world through their various regulations being implemented but they can't just let it die because cryptocurrencies are decentralized.

Government policies and regulation can have a negative impact  on cryptocurrency and ultimately kill it,major reason why crypto has not grown beyond it's present level is as a result of policy from government in different countries.

They can't kill it but they can hurt the ecosystem a lot by banning centralized exchanges and spreading some FUD in the news.

"Regardless, just because South Korea, China, the US and other countries can crush Bitcoin by issuing new regulations and influencing cryptocurrency prices, it doesn’t mean they can kill it".  The above quote is from the research information I got when I was trying to find out why world government is fighting crypto. Please read the full text here: https://www.ccn.com/fighting-bitcoin-cryptocurrency-trading-threat-government-policies/ and make your own contributions. It will help cool the nerves from the crypto dip we are experiencing recently. Happy reading. Thanks
thank for the article, it's good information about cryptocurrency. Yeah giant countries can make influence to the price of cryptocurrency by some issues and regulations from them.but they can't kill the cryptocurrency because they can't stop every people to join in cryptocurrency. I always hope cryptocurrency can pass this situation and struggling and grow up time by time.

I think we all know cryptocurreny is the new in market and it's also new for all countries many countries regulated on crypto but many are not its not means other not accept it they sure will regulate first after that they accept it, because tracking of cryptocurreny is very difficult for world goverment and no now one government want that peoples invest there money without any regulation because many people invest there black money on it so it is very unauthorized system for government so please wait some year slowly slowly every government accept it with regulation, crypto is not a bad idea we all know but some correction and rules are needed on it.

Of course we can see now how governments try to ban crypto, but I'm sure that they can't do this, because a technology can't be banned and I believe more and more people will understand that cryptocurrencies are much more honest and usable than fiat.
