in a falling market, I do very simply. I change my coins, to those that have fallen very much and are waiting for their growth.
if you have a surplus of money you can earn a lot in the event of a crisis. because crises are temporary. you will profit when you return to normal. and you get everything cheaper than normal.
We cannot earn from dropping market as the prices of all the coins will be going down and if we sell, then it will be a loss only. But there is a new type of trading which is called leverage trading. Many people are using platform of Bitmex by long/ short bitcoin even when the bitcoin price is dropping and getting good benefits. You just have to confirm if the bitcoin price will rise or fall, and those who predict accurately are rewarded.
Maybe we can't because the market is dropped and expectedly that you may only get a little profit or earnings since you can't sell your coin with a high value. Some of us are grabbing this moment as opportunity to buy more coins to be their investment and some also are choose to sell their coins because they can't even wait to sell their coins or simply because they need to sell it.
When market trends go down Of course This is a huge opportunity to buy lots of altcoins in the wallet and sell them when the price starts to rise. when the market price goes down it will give us a big profit when the price of Altcoins crawls up the price it is not profitable. I think that requires a very good ability and must be able to have very much capital to be able to make a profit when the price conditions are falling and for now I am still very difficult to be able to get a profit when the trend is falling.
You probably mean "traders", not "investors". Investors don't trade actively and hold their bags long-term. Keeping fiat and playing dad cat bounces might be the way to go, btw

I haven't tried yet because I think that the long-term holding strategy is the best one and to my mind, it is better to keep money for the long-term because this is the best way not to risk much
i think it can happen, because if the market price is go down, it can't go down continously, surely there are an increase even if only a little and in a short time, at that moment you can get profit
This is not a hard and fast rule that when the market fails, the profits simply vanishes. For example if your investment in Bitcoin dates back to the year 2010, when the price was just few dollars and if you still hold that portfolio, you might be better off selling these coins and will earn good money in the market even if people think the market is down. Even if you buy low and hold till the price goes high, you might earn some handsome money.
