It is really impossible as it involves the internet to process the transactions and also there is no crypto without the internet, imagine how we connect with each other, how do we send things if there is no internet connection? So the internet plays a big factor in this. Also, the internet was used for everything so it would be chaos now if the internet will be gone. regarding bitcoin transaction, there are thread about here to send it but you need to have still internet connection so still it is impossible

The growth and popularity of cryptocurrency may be extremely in the future that even uneducated men and women in rural areas and villages in many developing countries of the world may love to be part of the crypto can the process to make crypto offline class work.
It will be great to see alot of people be part of the crypto world but I don’t think it would be possible to operate cryptocurrency offline without internet connection. Bitcoin is not like fiat currency Bitcoin is decentralized, transactions need to be verified to be recorded on the blockchain and for that miners need to be connected to the internet.

What did you guys think?
Are you suggesting they make like a card similar to atm cards which is linked to your address where you can carryout transactions?
I don’t know what will happen in the future but bitcoin was not created initially to replace fiat, it was just created to serve as an online payment method and also an alternative means for payments. Even if it’s possible to operate cryptocurrency offline maybe it would be in another generation to come.

Before asking the question If crypto without Internet, did you ask yourself that what if the world no longer have Internet?

Nowadays, if the world no longer have Internet, many operations will be broken and we will have to go back to stone-age likely.
Indeed, the modern world revolves around the internet. Everything is always about how to make our lives easier, and if you look closely, the internet plays a crucial part. Even financial institutions have embraced mobile banking, which makes it simple to do transactions using your smartphone while connected to the internet.
Today's world is evolved, and even young children are being taught how to use the internet. We would be unable to quickly communicate with people throughout the world without the internet.

It will be a great opportunity if one can create a forum for this. What I often think about is making profits through the crypto space by seeing more opportunities that exist and will come in the future, but along with this I also think about the risks that can occur at any time in the crypto space because the pleasure of many people in the crypto space is only happens when they make a profit. Meanwhile, when they suffer losses, not many of them have the patience to endure and some of them even leave the crypto space and run away to another place.

That type of people usually isn't a big optimist so rural people like you said also need to understand the risks as well as understand that the crypto space is an opportunity to work and make money. Because in crypto there is always a process that every new person must go through carefully.

While it is true that the use of cryptocurrency is heavily dependent on the internet, it is possible to create offline solutions for cryptocurrency transactions by using physical storage devices or other offline methods.

However, the widespread adoption of such solutions would require significant education and infrastructure improvements in rural areas and developing countries. Nonetheless, it is an interesting idea and could be a worthwhile endeavor to explore further.

As long as your bitcoins are secured you don't really need always to have access to the internet and you could just let it be like that until you finally want to withdraw it and find someplace where you can access the internet. The problem you are talking about here is when those people that are living in the area where they don't even know how to use computers and how can they use bitcoins? That's why we don't totally remove fiat because for the last hundreds of years, we are using it and for the people there to adjust to using bitcoins instead of fiat will be impossible. Bitcoins right now are only for people that are computer literate and it will gonna change in the future when we see some ads about using bitcoins shown on national televisions and other advertisements.

Alternatives of offline-transfers aside, it's safe to assume that as time goes, internet adoption(or at least the stability and accessibility) on poorer countries will go up as well. Hopefully in parallel to bitcoin/crypto adoption.

Yeah, it should. You can't keep up abusive telecommunication treaties and poor network infrastructure forever.

Eventually, everyone's going to be connected to the internet in one form or another, though it may not be with today's devices. It could be with hardware wallets that get a direct internet connection from Starlink, for example.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
Those rural people are nowadays getting access to electricity and internet at homes or moving to cities with these facilities for studies and work. Thus the possible population which can take part in crypto is ever increasing.

Hence I don't think non-internet crypto should be a problem at this point.

Besides what I tried to highlight in another similar thread was that in case the internet went down, bitcoin would be the least of your problems as that would be a war like situation and all the internet based services would have shut down, like an apocalypse.

What the arguments about lack of internet usually forget is that internet is used in a lot of things and without it majority of what we do every day becomes impossible or at least extremely hard. It is the same with bitcoin, it will be extremely difficult to make it work without the internet.
Besides, a lot of villages and rural areas have already gotten access to the internet. We have a lot more to worry about regarding the adoption among average Joes first before wanting to get everyone else who don't have access to the internet to adopt bitcoin.

There are alternative with SMS code from some companies but they are middle men and we should not trust them. SMS code is weak too.

https://www.cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-without-internet-sms-service-allows-sending-btc-with-a-text/

Most important, this method works only if Bitcoin network operates that needs to have Internet connection among miners and nodes.

Yea, they're bandage solutions, but I don't think SMS is the solution. I think increase in internet access is still the solution — maybe through typical internet service providers, or through something like Elon Musk's Starlink.

so far, digital transactions require the internet, especially for crypto users, the internet is something that is required. sending bitcoins from wallet to wallet requires an internet network, and viewing transactions also require the internet. in fact, if it could be done without the internet, it might be very difficult to use, and maybe the development would slow down and tend to drop.

If vast majority of countries are have access with electricity and internet connection, why we should care with the poor countries? the problem of poor countries are mostly because of corruption and high criminal, if all citizens working together to improve their country, sooner or later they will have access to electricity and internet connection. Do not forget despite Bitcoin is really trusted and transparent, there's still people call Bitcoin is scam which mean you can't please everyone.

As time goes on, i believe it would be possible because development is dynamic and not static. Same way bitcoin was developed so it will be possible to do bitcoin transfer offline. If banks could use Mobile codes for transfer of funds without internet service,  i think that can be achieved with bitcoin as it will take a whole lots of planning and codes to achieve but i believe this can only be possible in countries that accepts bitcoin as a digital legal tender.

Bitcoin was created and exists thanks to the internet, without the internet, how can bitcoin work? The internet today is like water, it is an important part of our lives, we can go without food for many days but cannot go without water for a long time. If I weren't exposed to the internet regularly, I wouldn't invest in cryptocurrencies.
I also think like @armanda90, bitcoin is very volatile, and when I invest in it without being able to check its value, it poses a lot of risk to me. There are still some parts of the world that are not connected to the internet, but with the current development, I believe that the internet will have global coverage in the near future.

Before asking the question If crypto without Internet, did you ask yourself that what if the world no longer have Internet?

Internet has gone through many developments and nowadays in Russia - Ukraine war, we see how Satellite Internet can operate well.

In 1990s, people wanted to ban Internet. Around 1995, Internet ?
In 2023, Bitcoin?

They tried to ban the Internet and people to use Internet.

Chris Lamprecht becomes the first person to be banned from the internet by judicial decree. “I told the judge computers were my life,” Lamprecht later recalled.

Bitcoin would not work without an internet network and neither would its adoption, Bitcoin would not be this big if it were not without the internet. So the internet and Bitcoin are inseparable no matter how you try.

bitcoin is a digital currency that certainly cannot be touched by our hands, and of course making transactions requires the internet to be connected.

and what makes bitcoin popular is because of the internet and people are comfortable buying and selling via the internet.

Bitcoin couldn't work if no internet connection.
But if you learn Bitcoin without the internet? I don't think that is an excuse. There are a lot of ways to learn Bitcoin these days. Since Bitcoin became known over the world, there are already lot of ways to learn with the internet and internet connection.

No matter how we try to explain things, it will still not count as a successful transaction without internet service. I saw a post earlier this month or last on this forum regarding a means of transferring bitcoin using SMS, which I was totally against because that pattern can only be possible if it operates under a centralized platform and will later record or execute the transaction online with the help of the internet. It's impossible to make Bitcoin transactions offline because the transaction being recorded on the blockchain requires the internet, and a transaction can only be said to be completed if it has been recorded.
