I think this is possible in a couple of decades...technology is developing and soon will become uncomfortable using cash...perhaps it will be a cryptocurrency or something else, but for sure it will be a cashless payment

Have you ever wondered how would the world's economy be like in the future as a cashless society?

Perhaps, with the increased traction of blockchain acceptance nowadays, could lead to the creation of digital fiat currencies powered by blockchains that are managed by governments themselves. With this in mind, there would be no need for physical cash, as digital fiat currencies would provide many advantages such as quick settlement, global payments, full transparency, implants use on citizens to make payments, and more.

If this becomes a reality, which I'm sure that it will, it would radically transform our lives for the better and reduce criminal activity as a result of the full transparency and auditability that a digital fiat currency would have thanks to the power of the blockchain technology.

Also, it makes me wonder if cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin would exist by that time, or will they co-exist with digital fiat currencies.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this.  Wink
Not going to happen, governments will without a doubt create their own crypto that is something that is going to happen but no one is going to use it since they feel comfortable with their cash and their electronic money and once there is trouble and the economy begins to crumble as it is unsustainable they will try to use their own crypto to lure people but they are not going to be deceived again by the government.

A society without cash. All we do is be dependent on cards, virtual ids and internet. This would be a technologically inspired motif. Wherein we can actually notice the rise of technology and the things to buy doesn't need physical money. You don't need to go out to buy. This would be amazing.

The world has been moving towards a cashless society for a long time before blockchain, and would continue moving in that direction even without it today. We already have digital fiat without blockchain, so that's not a prerequisite. The world will go cashless without Bitcoin, and it will do it better, as digital fiat is far more useful than any crypto due to its wildly fluctuating value. Companies like Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, and Square have done far more than Bitcoin has in moving the world off cash.

Cashless society requires a universal internet connection. But not all countries can afford that. In my country, only some certain area there is a wifi. Its not centralized compare to other coutry. We can be online in a certain areas or private areas. Not all can afford with internet connection. I think the cashless society is going to be way far. Hopefully in some other countries like my country the internet connection will be centralized. Like for example if we go out in the house we dont have internet connection. We use data connection through our smartphones. It is going to be costly.
- No cash, we will use digital currency, it will require some technology to connect and not all places can also have this connection, that would be a huge inconvenience for many people, this technology is quite complex and brings trouble to people with little use and never use the internet. Many people have used cash as a habit in the long run, they will not accept this, even they will oppose the government if the government removes cash, pressure from the crowd will create many struggles, the society will not be peaceful, the government will not like this, and so I think they will not let the cashless society appear

Well its really interesting to be a cashless society like other country which they don't use cash intead its on their phone whenever they are just ask the cashless payment they will give their code or phone for you to sent payments even homeless hadnit i watch it in youtube i will tell here when i find it , When it comes in bitcoin too well it is good but it will need internet not unlike the one i watch but i wonder how they will create it.

I wish I could live in a developed country that currently practices being a cashless society, it would be more fun and convenient if we use digital currencies. I think both blockchain, cryptos and AI will make a big contributions with the future society.

I love "Time" movie. Actorship is not that great, but the concept is. Recommended watch for anyone, who entertains an  idea of cashless society
It is but at that time I think being a member of the cashless world I don't even adjust to that and I think it is not suitable. I think without holding cash in hands, we don’t get the real feeling of having some cash in our custody. Going cashless does sound like we are broke. Your perspective of cashless society is little different. Even if you are doing online banking, cash is there in your account whereas people here are discussing society where there is no existence of paper money at all.

Time will come that money will no longer have its value because the cryptocurrencies are dominating it. That is why we should focus here on Bitcoin because this is our future.

Yes, it is necessary to develop a technology for societies without internet infrastructure, because now the world is becoming global. For this reason, the development of crypto money has only been linked to its availability in the whole world.

Being in a cashless society is definitely not good, because the physical money can't be used anymore in that society and the electronic money or bitcoin it became powerful and useful to that society, that's all.

Cashless society has its own advantages and disadvantages. If it will happen government can control our money by closing all the ATM machine.  On the other hand it is safe for us because crime will decrease its rate. But, have you notice cashless society happens nowadays. We can buy our stuff/ products by the used of our ATM, credit cards and other.

In everything there are advantage and disadvantages regarding it's use. But technology is on its fast phase so cashless society is going to be the future of it and we are just getting started with bitcoin. And when it regards to the control of government through our money, bitcoin is against to it because it is decentralized so we have our freedom that we can use bitcoin as our digital cash and start our own society with it. As I've said, we are just starting, future is already happening.

I think that there will be no cashless society, because in case of electricity failure people will need an alternative for financial transactions.
With the current digital growth of the world, I do not think we have enough power to provide internet for everywhere.
First of all, we still have many countries still the poor country, if we transfer to use digital cash instead of paper money, we can not create transaction when we stay in countryside.

cashless = dangerous

i an not stupid that much, that i would need need some middleman (banks/crypto), i like my cash.
banning cash is like banning food - you got restaurants, order from there, you do not need emergency food and cooking yourself. thats outdated.
cash is the king, and always will be, i will fight to keep my cash, till my last breath.

reason? i trust no one. I will not lend my energy (workforce and time) to some crypto or cashless society bank. thats a pure suicide.
and i am sorry for everyone, who do not see the pattern.

cash is freedom. cash is like guns for Americans - you have them at your disposal to defend yourself, your family and your home. i have my cash to defend myself and my family.

A cashless society will be as a kind of videogame, where anything is known and traced, and in any moment you can have your account closed.
With crypto is different, may be, but governemnt surely will find a way to control us.
I believe that gold is still the best reserve of value.

##A cashless economy is one in which all the transactions are done using cards or digital means. The circulation of physical currency is minimal.
##India uses too much cash for transactions. The ratio of cash to gross domestic product is one of the highest in the world—12.42% in 2014, compared with 9.47% in China or 4% in Brazil.
##Less than 5% of all payments happen electronically
##The number of currency notes in circulation is also far higher than in other large economies. India had 76.47 billion currency notes in circulation in 2012-13 compared with 34.5 billion in the US.
