It feels like future we already live in. However there is some fear of it. "Cashless" society means more frauds starring hackers and etc. Scary in some way, but still cool

I also see a cashless society in the future, but i feel that the "new" currency would still be controled by governments in a BAD way

Maybe it will take many years to happen this cashless society. Government should educate all regarding this from high to low level of societies. But this would never be easy. Many will protests to this especially of low class because its not easy to have cards when you dont have a savings in bank. They will not easily issuing cards to these people. So what are they going to use? This is one of those problems that will be facing by the government if we are going cashless.

I do not think that a completely non-cash society is possible. Even in economically developed countries, many still enjoy using cash. In many countries there is not even an Internet for carrying out non-cash payments and it's too early to think about such a global coup.

In my opinion about this cashless society  means world  will have one monitoring person controler. If theres no more cash digital money will come out.And yes your right implants can be used for quick resultS to all global settlements. That in short we can have one currency, one technology that all nations will unite for a ONE WORLD GOVERMENT.

Agree. That is the downside of having a completely cashless society, and we won't be able to avoid this from happening in the future as banks and governments become more inclined in exploring the blockchain technology. Having a single global currency can be both good and bad, as it not only brings convenience, speed, and security, but it also gives full transparency to governments on every financial activity made on every region of the world.

On top of that, it would not only provide financial information of every person in the world, but also personal and medical information too living in a distributed inmutable ledger where records remain virtually forever. With the blockchain technology, all of this is possible, and if used in combination with AI and IoT, it will change our society in ways that we've never thought about before.

Only time will tell whenever this comes fast, or it will take many years to become a reality. Just my thoughts. Grin
If we are really evolving towards a fully cashless society, I wonder how the less fortunate people would cope with that.
I doubt that all homeless people would suddenly have bank accounts or the equivalent thing in the future, perhaps they'll resort to some sort of barter system or perhaps universal basic income becomes a thing too?

Good point this is one of the bad sides to fully integrate cashless society. There will be problem you point in maybe biggest one, how will they do it. Every system is not perfect but cashless society maybe primary goals could be to be perfect in some way. Also if this cashless society would be on internet payment or online, that would be even bigger problem cuz not all places in the world are cover will net. Still from this there are more problems then any good solution for this.

If the government forced everyone to switch to non-cash payments the next step is chiping people. This is done under the pretext of fighting crime and improving the passports, but all this will lead to total surveillance.

Cashless society is already here. Most people don't use cash as much as they did before internet boom. I wouldn't want complete cashless society, it gives more power to the bank and government and take it away from people. Do you really want government keeping tracks of everything you buy/sell/own and then sell your information to private corporation who'll abuse it? It's already happening
Yes it is already happening but not all over the world. Now all the developed countries are totally dependent on internet and hence become cashless societies. But still there are many people who are not aware of this advanced technology and cashless economy will take time to become popular all over the world.

True some countries have limit use of cash like Sweden, they most do plastic and they all pay with credit card. But for all to be cashless society it will be very hard to accomplish. This isnt something that can be done just with saying need a lot off preparations. For countries that depend on internet and cuz off that they become cashless societies its not that true at all. For some internet is course of business and making friend or some other not good thing, but for others it becoming more and more cashless. You can now pay anything with netbanking.

Well I don't think it will be a problem if we have a cashless society because they could get their relatives or kids or a friend to front their extra transactions should there be the need. It will give the governments more power though but people will still have their way around it just like it is currently.

It will happen soon I believe but it takes a long time. First of all not everyone are already aware in cashless system and is limited by the internet which is the primary tool to access bitcoin. Having a cashless system can not easily accept by everyone specially if they didn't know it. So first thing to do is to make bitcoin widely known before dealing in cashless system using bitcoin..

Being cashless does not always pertain to Bitcoin. There are many ways out there to be cashless and Bitcoin is just one of them. And for the record, we are already beginning the "cashless society" stage, well years ago it was already started. We have credit and debit card that are used to lessen the usage of cash, thus cashless.

I think that a cashless society will exist. In the interest of all governments and therefore people have no ability to resist. People are not profitable, but who will they ask? So enjoy the freedom now.
Unfortunately you are right... Even more... some countries government already are limiting cashless operations at fixed sum amounts  Sad

I think for now people still depend on money because there are still many people who do not know what is bitcoin and try to think again if we can give digital money to begging beggars on the streets. Of course that is not possible so I think for now people are still dependent on paper money may be in developed countries have many who switch to using bitcoin because the level of welfare of his society is evenly distributed. But not for countries whose level of welfare is still low society of paper money is still very in need until now

One of the very interesting that was raised here!

Bitcoin nowadays is becoming popular to several countries around the globe. It serves as an currency in a digital form that fluctuates from time to time. For me, the best advantage of Bitcoin is that it can be used for digital payment. This makes everything more convenient because people has this alternative of not using cash for every transaction being made. Everything is just a click away. From gadgets or laptops, you can now make transactions may it be small or big. Although I think that the traditional way of using cash is still important, having the Bitcoin as an alternative is plus because of it's convenience.

For me, the cashless society is total loss of freedom. From this point the person is completely under control. For spending of your funds you can determine everything from your habits to determine what brand of cigarettes you prefer. You can calculate your place of residence, etc.

We will surely loss our freedom when this is going to be implemented. Think about on how the government can easily track your transactions but it's good for security but I'm not in favor of this idea. There are certain problems that can be their main deal not just only this because in the end you will find out that this will make people as sock puppets.
