I have seen many movies in which there are people sending money digitally and these days it is almost the same, so I believe we have almost reached the point where we become cashless society.

Very long ago I watched the documentary "Zeitgeist". Then I thought it was too futuristic and closer to a conspiracy theory, but now I see that all what is said starts to come true. I'm sure at 100% that in the near future there is no place for paper money.

This is possible, but this would be implemented by the governments.  This would result into fiat currency being converted to electronic currency. Generally, I think this will not result to the governments using cryptocurrency as most of those are decentralized. Something the governments don't want.

Cashless society? Wow, sounds good to hear but how? Can we adopt this kind of system? If you said possible, what are some ways to implement of the government? I think it would take some years to be implemented this one. It would be hard for the beginner to adopt it. People wouldn't know how to handle it. The only thing they know is the fiat currency. The government here in my country don't care about this kind of system.
Did you watch movie "The Time"? That's futuristic model of a cashless world. But I am sure it;s the future of the humanity, well, of course not with time time model, but with some chip in the body with all private information pretty possible.

We are in the direction of that cashless society. Those high class technologies, those transportations, those machines, and those transactions we are modern class now. In this era we are leading the new era of money where people are not going to somewhere just to buy something. It is more easy to buy things through online or even in the physical stores, it is more easy to detect all people because as far as I know when it is already cashless society all government are going to be so strict, even personal data they will knew it everything is transparent for no crimes will be done. They will detect whether you are the criminal or not. There is no more theifs nor scammers all is secured. There will be a new money that can be transparent that even where you are they know it. The government will no longer up the pole just to catch the criminals. Thats what cashless society is and that is our future. Cash will replace soon.

Have you ever wondered how would the world's economy be like in the future as a cashless society?

Perhaps, with the increased traction of blockchain acceptance nowadays, could lead to the creation of digital fiat currencies powered by blockchains that are managed by governments themselves. With this in mind, there would be no need for physical cash, as digital fiat currencies would provide many advantages such as quick settlement, global payments, full transparency, implants use on citizens to make payments, and more.

If this becomes a reality, which I'm sure that it will, it would radically transform our lives for the better and reduce criminal activity as a result of the full transparency and auditability that a digital fiat currency would have thanks to the power of the blockchain technology.

Also, it makes me wonder if cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin would exist by that time, or will they co-exist with digital fiat currencies.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this.  Wink

Cashless society is not far to happen.  Many people nowadays accepted cyptocurrency as a new form of money.  With cashless society, you can go anywhere in the world without cash on hand and worry free of being holdup. You can do all the transaction via online so everything will be hassle free. Value of money will be the same everywhere as well. Thank you to the power of blockchain technology and the people behind it is a genius.  I am so excited to experience that.

We will not adopt something that we don't really know and bitcoin is very easy to understand and to know how it works because it like paypal but a much better version which is secured and anonymous so we don't need to worry about our personal informations to get leaked in the internet because when you have bitcoin all you need is bitcoin address and you can just transfer and receive money from people.

Abiky i believe a paper currency less society is possible but not in the recent future. First of all this will require universal free internet access which will not be possible until probably thirty years time that is even if the developed world is ready to make sacrifice to help the less endowed get to that le
Not only universal internet access, but almost all people should get familiar with digital transactions since most of the people in under developed countries even don't have credit or debit cards and all they know is the paper money and they only believe it as the real money.More awareness should be created.Otherise, same disasters would happen what already happened in india.

Cashless society is the future but the government will have their own currency for it. I doubt it that they will consider bitcoin for the usage in this society. But maybe they can consider it as another way of payment or there will be a main currency but still we can use bitcoin by that time and there's no more bad words about it.

Yes. Governments will have a currency of their own, issued by central banks within their own private blockchain in the future. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are considered as experimental grounds to help make the blockchain evolve and considered to be used officially in any country.

However, while fiat currencies will become digital, they would co-exist with cryptocurrencies for many years to come. If Bitcoin continues as is, then by the time governments start rolling their own currencies, Bitcoin would become a stronger cryptocurrency and a more valuable medium of exchange than what it is nowadays.

Nevertheless, it would be interesting to have a cashless society since it opens up pathways to things that were never imagined such as autonomous organizations residing on the blockchain, self paying cars (you pay with digital cash to the car itself), autonomous drones, and more. If the blockchain becomes highly successful, then everything will become fully autonomous eliminating the need for middlemen, and sometimes human intervention with the help of AI, enabling a cashless society in the future. Just my opinion. Smiley

It's going to happen eventually. In fact, many of our transactions are already cashless because of credit cards, debit cards, checks, PayPal, etc.

Many of us also have our paychecks direct deposited into our bank accounts. I also use my bank's bill pay system to pay my bills so I don't even needs to write checks any more.
Yes that's true but cash is still very dominant. Especially for micro purchases. I think that a cashless society is possible if cash isn't as convenient anymore. Cash is compeltely untraceble whereas every transaction that you make on the bitcoin chain is logged. So in that sense cash is still more private and more convenient so the majority of people will keep using it for atleast another decade.

It's true that cashless has become more.convenient with a lot of transactions but i doubt that we can be exclusively cashless in the future. I think it would continue to be how it is today. We'll have transactions with cash and transactions that won't need cash or online transactions. For simple purchases daily in small stores for daily necessities, i think cash would still be used.

Yes, government will not let the bitcoin to rule their country because they will try to find somethings to counter attack that like having their own digital currency to be used by their people but centralized because they like to still control the money in their country like the paper money and that is why i don't believe that all the countries are able to adopt bitcoin.

Bitcoin is decentralized and they don't have power to produce and re-produce. And they don't have control for it but they can do something for regulation of it. Possible that it can be USD that is in the form of microchip or upgraded something like credit card. Because with that type of currency, it's decentralized and they do have control for it.

Recently I've also dream about cashless society, it would be very interesting. In the cashless society there are some features should be maintained, technology must be available everywhere, alternative cash must be invented. In this case, Bitcoin and other altacoin can play pioneer role to lead a cashless society...
It will be a dream for some time as it will take a longer to envision a cashless society because there are other things that we have to take into consideration before thinking about a cashless society, debt card and internet banking are forms of cashless society and take the percent that use it on a daily basis and then you will understand how that can be successful.
If this dream came true, that would be terrible, I can not imagine a cashless society, how it will work? You say we use debit cards and internet banking, it would be very inconvenient, I just say for example without internet connection, internet banking will be useless and payment operations will stop immediately. If you say in the future, the cash in society will decrease, I will agree with your opinion but if you say a cashless society, I will not agree, this is impossible

The difference between a cash and cashless society would be that of degree, not of kind

It is not like no one would be using cash in a cashless society since there would be no cash or it would be banned or otherwise outlawed. A cashless society would be the one where cash would still be present but it wouldn't be used widely because it would be just inconvenient. Indeed, if there are some issues with digital payments, people will always have a back-up option of using cash money for hand-to-hand payments. In other words, no one is going to remove cash completely just for the sake of getting rid of it

One major financial problems we have in all our society is criminality and greedy. Bitcoin and others crytocurrency can resolve this problem by using this great technology to reduce crime and criminality. Cashless society do reduce physical attach on attempt to get fiat from the owner.
It may be possible to lessen crime and criminality physically. But remember, in the rise of technology, crime and corruption have also upgraded and put into technological crime involving fake sites that could easily access one's account. People will also need cash for payments, because in our time, before you can be able to access your account or wallet, you must have a internet connection. So it will be much efficient of using cash for now. But if they could think of the best way to hand on money that will not use internet for easy access, cashless society is really possible. Just the assurance for the safety of every account is in need.
