I've never had this kind of experience yet but I'd love to experience this in the future if I would have a chance. I have only seen it in movies before and it seems like a promising experience. The experience of being on a cruise ship is already memorable so playing a casino on it would be a remarkable experience for sure.
I think only huge ships would operate 24/7 casino or they will mostly have limitations for this unless their cruise service is just meant for casino gaming. Rich people who prefer having cruise ship experience will surely get attracted to it as it could provide a different experience rather than the traditional physical casinos.

Has anyone here had the opportunity to try out the casino on a cruise ship? I've heard many stories about them, and I'm curious to learn about the similarities and differences compared to land-based casinos. I'm particularly interested in hearing from someone who has firsthand experience playing in a cruise ship casino.

Even if I haven't had the opportunity to participate in such a remarkable event, the mere mention of this story has inspired me and made me want to board a magnificent cruise ship and enter the enthralling world of high-seas gaming. The ocean becomes my playground, and every throw of the dice or spin of the wheel holds the possibility of life-changing thrills and untold riches. It's like setting out on a mythical adventure. The allure of the unknown calls, and I eagerly await the moment when I may board, prepared to go out on a journey full of excitement, companionship, and the allure of casino games that will take me to a place where dreams and excitement intertwine.

I believe they have a quite small limit, especially on maximum betting compared on the land base casino. But the limit minimum betting depends on each casino, cannot really determine these one (It's always the policy of casino).

Cruise is operating 24/7 business, and CASINO is almost the same (they designed is always without a clock). So the people are not getting reminded how much they play on casino.

Sometimes I enjoy slots on cruise ship.  The slots on cruise ships certainly seem to be much more constrained than the slots at land-based casinos.  However, I enter having already spent the money I have set aside for gambling.  If I do win something, fantastic, that money will be applied to my SeaPass account.
Even if I never hit the jackpot when playing the slots, I'll feel secure knowing that I had already budgeted my funds for gambling and that I was aware of the risks involved. You are unaware of the house advantage with slot machines. That is my observation.

I have not yet had the opportunity nor the desire to go on a cruise but I am sure there is some high level gambling going on, on that cruise. If they do no have a casino, a pool, and more luxuries then whats the point? If it does not have those things its not a cruise its basically a fishing ship with nothing to do for their guests.

I hear there are even cruises that can take you out on international waters where everything is legal and you can do anything you want. Although going out so far can be a recipe for disaster. I would probably pass on such a journey. Grin

The casinos on cruise ships should be top quality though. Otherwise they are wasting your money.

Although I've yet to experience the thrill of a cruise casino firsthand, the stories my gambling-savvy comrades have shared paint a vivid picture of this floating Las Vegas. To address your queries:

Opening Times: Cruise casinos aren't always open around the clock like their landlocked counterparts. They usually come to life when the ship sails away from the harbor. So, no night owls when docked!

Payout Rates: Opinions are divided here. Some claim the payouts are lean due to the captive audience. Yet, others report fair play. Could it simply be Lady Luck having her say?

Betting Floors: From the tales I've heard, the betting range is variable, typically starting at a humble $5 or $10 but could escalate on more fancy voyages.

Game Selection: Certainly! With slot machines to table games, your preferences are catered to. The assortment might not rival Vegas, but it's commendable for a seafaring casino!

Take note, this is all hearsay. You should better experience them yourself  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

reading this thread reminds me of a movie about gambling on a cruise ship  Cheesy
regarding the question posed by the OP, I can't answer because I don't have experience there, but for what I know, it looks like the minimum bet amount will be the same as a land casino and for operational hours, as I know, it seems like it will only start during the day and night.
but this is just speculation from me and I say once again that to be honest I haven't had any experience gambling on a cruise ship.

I have never done it, and I can only imagine that the casino will only be filled with gamblers who have huge capital so their minimum bets will also be large because to be able to enjoy a vacation by cruise ship alone is quite expensive so those who gamble at the casino are of course it's just a high roller, and the reason for gambling on a cruise ship could be because that's the main goal because they really like gambling with expensive facilities, especially if it's a very expensive cruise ship to be able to enjoy the services but it could also be because they want to enjoy all the facilities on the cruise ship as part of the vacation that is being enjoyed and what is certain is that they are all people with a lot of funds, and not all gamblers and people can enjoy or do that because it takes a lot of money.

I've heard many stories about them, and I'm curious to learn about the similarities and differences compared to land-based casinos. I'm particularly interested in hearing from someone who has firsthand experience playing in a cruise ship casino.

Specifically, I would like to know:

Operating Hours: Do cruise ship casinos operate 24/7 like their land-based counterparts?
Payouts: Are the payout rates comparable to land-based casinos?
Betting Limits: What are the minimum betting limits? I know that some land-based casinos start at $20.
Game Variety: Can I find the same range of games offered in land-based casinos on cruise ships?

I haven't been in a cruise ship, but I will speculate that,

Operating hours will be 24x7, that's why they also get a lot of service crews to cater to their rich clients.

Of course, payouts are going to be comparable and the same to land based casino, maybe they can adjust the RTP or something. But if it is US cruise ship, then they have to follow the gaming commissions rules.

Betting Limit will be the same.

Perhaps this could be the big difference, maybe the games in a cruise ship being offered might be limited as obviously the space can't be compare to a regular land based casinos.

I only traveled once on a cruise, but it was only along the Brazilian coast and here casinos are prohibited, so I didn't have that opportunity.

Like everything else on a cruise, I believe that prices should be higher than in a conventional casino, either because the target audience is higher class people or because of the operating cost, which should be higher.
But I'm sure of one thing... it will be much harder to rob a casino on the high seas and get away Tongue

I've already read a little about these cruise casinos, and the options seem to me to be much more diverse than the ones I find on land here in the neighboring country (Argentina). I think it should have options to please all bettors.

    -   All cruise ships have casinos, and as far as I know, the games you can see there are all good, although I have never been on a cruise ship, the ones I only see in movies. But I have a friend who also likes to gamble in land based casinos.

He showed me that he has a discount card but I'm not sure, he was telling me that there are days when he loses 40k of our money and that his lowest loss is around 100$ something, and there It is also said that he won 1200$ in one day by being lucky.

I have a bunch of friends who are working on cruise ships and one of them was based on a gambling-related post (most of them are in restaurants). As far as his shared experience is concerned, there is not much difference when you played in a casino on a cruise ship and land-based. It's just that the gambling entertainment was simply brought out of the sea doing the same function as it was on the land.

No idea about the payout rate as never it did mention to us. As for the minimum bet, I think that's not a big deal to ask for.

As also per him, the operation is not 24 hours. Only a few staff are working on the whole casino and there's no shifting schedule (based on his cruise line). Adding to that, he mentioned that not all cruise ship does have a casino that's why sometimes, he's having difficulty getting back at his work field (or they called it recommendations),, and mostly idle for over a year every after his home arrival.

if we look closely at people we can see that a casino on a ship would not make many people play in it every day and lose all their money in the casino, because people go on a ship to have fun, so if by chance there is any casino on the ship so people will play in that casino just for fun, and I think that the casino on the ship will already be prepared for that and probably won't have many games, since the casino will only work during the time they are on a trip along with the casino, this is an important point that the casino owner will take into account

with that thought, also adding the fact that people would not be playing a lot of money in the casino for the simple fact that they went to travel by ship to have fun and they didn't go alone, they always take one more family member, boyfriend or husband for the trip, people do not travel alone, and there will hardly be 2 people traveling together with the same taste for gambling, the tendency is that one likes and the other hates gambling and this will prevent one of them who likes gambling a lot from spending all the money playing , casino on the ship and very limited

i never got the chance to play casino on a cruise ship but my uncle once said the atmosphere on a cruise ship casino was amazing.  My uncle is a worker on the MSC Cruises cruise ship (if you have heard of it) he said that the casino there is very busy but the operating hours are of course not 24 hours, even only on certain days the casino is open because the cruise ship does not always have passengers and usually the passengers are rich people who deliberately want to spend their money there (even my uncle once said there are some rich footballers who play on that cruise ship casino)

I've watched a few videos, sadly they just touched lightly upon the casino itself though. They operate 24/7 yes, since the ship was rented out for more than a day or two most of the time iirc.  I think the odds are a bit higher than normal? Because casinos charge a lot more towards the cruise ship with regards to the machines that they use and other related stuff like that. Might have changed though since this was like from a vlog I watched a few years ago.

The limits vary from ship to ship afaik, but it generally doesn't differ that stray that far from land-based limits. As for variety, they offer roughly the same, you'd probably find it hard to find some niche categories though if you wanted, though generally the most famous games like blackjack, slots, roulette should be in there.

I haven't had the opportunity to visit one just yet but I've had friends more successful than me talk about their cruise ship stories, and it includes leisure.

Most of these cruise ships will have a dedicated place for gambling and games, billiards, chess, even table tennis for some ships. But let's talk about the gambling part.

Pay-rates are so-so as I told, some hold sizable treasuries capable of supplying prizes for jackpot winners, some are not.
Like most establishments within the ship, they operate on a schedule, no later than the evening, so crews can clean up and prepare for next date.
I wasn't able to ask how much the betting entry is, but for sure there's one.
As for game variety, you'll have what they can only provide. Staples such as roulette, poker, and sometimes even slots are readily available, games like billiards where you can create personal bets with opponents are available too.

That's about it I guess. Again I'm using information referred to me by my friends, so I can't really vouch for the authenticity, but for what it's worth, After conducting some research myself I think it all adds up.

I have not played on a cruise ship casino before. But read what is on this link: https://thepointsguy.com/guide/cruise-ship-casinos/amp/

Read the contents on the link and you will see all your questions and many more there.

I also have not played on cruise casinos but it's important for a Cruise ship to have a casino to entertain their visitors because onboarding cruise ships can take you days to arrive at the port of destination, and they are aware that there are visitors who love or crave to gamble, physical casinos offer free drinks and perks but on cruise casinos, they are not offering free drinks with some exception to other cruise ships.
I think it's better for physical casino players to be aware of the difference between playing in a land base casino and a casino on a cruise ship because.

Casinos on a cruise ship will also be like on a physical casinos, so I think spending much of time here might not be worth it especially if you are on a cruise ship for other purpose. Though when you’re in a cruise ship you are being forced to spend more as many attractive shops that you might get interested, and a casinos is also one of those. Its ok to try and have fun as well, beside its all boils down about your budget when taking on a cruise ship, and usually you’re with your family so you might not want them to know your gambling activities.

A standard cruise ship should have provisions for casino. It's one game the rich play often mostly on grand voyages.
Am very certain that on like the Titanic, ship designers has been able to make adjustments to fit in any design they want, even yatches could have casino rooms built in.

It would be standard according to the size of the entire vessel, am sure majority of the land based games would also be available on the cruise casino.

The payouts may have to be on land, perhaps after docking, the winners can visit land based centres to redeem winnings.
Those who joined the cruise ship are considered rich and capable of spending more, so technically Casinos should be there because there's money in a cruise ship. Grand voyages are more possible to have one, though I still have no experience about the cruise ship but you can easily see a casino on every Vlog about their cruise experience, and I think they also follow the standard of a regular casino, same probability to win as well. Though I don't think Casino should be on your list if you're on a cruise ship since you're there to experience other things and not just to spend most of your time in Casinos.

Maybe when Bitcoin goes to a million, I would really love to try that but for now that I can just barely make ends meet, not yet. I don't think they can operate 24/7 considering most of those who will just play out there are in the same day/night unless they are employee that has their own shifts, it can't be operated 24/7. For game variety I think it may cater same ranges of ships if a cruise ship is too huge.
