@quark:

You are getting around 6MHASH on the 1gb 750 with 512 shaders. A overclocked GTX 980 has 2048 shaders and can do around 20MHASH.

6*4=24MHASH

This meens that the 980 doesn't scale good enough. If we only take the shadercount the gtx980 should do around 24MHASH when mining quark. With some more work and tuning, I think the gtx980 numbers can be improved.

@rednow, try to increase the default intensity instead of overclocking more. might work.
Thanx for the hint. In my case with only 1gb of vid mem I can set max -i 23.3, it gives >900mb mem usage. But performance drops comparing to default -i 23 with >700mb. So I try to decrease it more to -i 22.8 with 630mb mem usage and it seems I'm getting slightly better hashrate now ...

UPD: best with -i 22.9 5975 mhs

In the latest version on github I have removed some memory usage in the quark algo. The default intensity has been increased to 23 fot the 750ti(compute 5.0) and 24 for the 970++ (compute 5.2).
@rednow, try to increase the default intensity instead of overclocking more. might work.

I don't no why but now my poor gtx 750 can handle 1510/1574 engine/mem. It is 30 mhz engine clock increase from previous oc record. And it is stable! Maybe it is a latest nvidia driver. Or just vacuum cleaning my psu that helps ))
Now with latest sp_ commits I got 5960mhs quark )))

Hey SP_, I didn't see any feedback for you latest commit, so here it comes:

On my 3*750Ti rig, 1.5.50 release gives a stable 17050kH/s (+/-5) on Quark, after a 4-5 minutes ramp-up.
The 34a6a986 commit has about the same ramp-up time and fluctuates around 17100 (+/-10). Been running stable for about an hour now.

Just sent you a beer, programming is thirsty work :-) (7449e41cb109f4bd56b7ae0efe7c086bf9c4e394d031737228af64b771f30395)

it works but not for the most recent wallets (ie bitcoin) which have removed the getwork command.

I plan to add the getblocktemplate feature when the multipool system will be in place... so lets say in 1.6.5

Cheesy

I tried solomining with older version of ccminer. It worked back then when Christian was still developing it.

@CapnBDL You can try this.

in the coinname.conf file put this

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=
rpcuser=
rpcpass=

now in bat file put this

ccminer.exe -o 127.0.0.1: -u -p

you have to make sure that rpcport, username & password are same in .conf and .bat file

Now run the coin wallet and get it synced fully and then run you .bat file

Let me know if this works. Anyone please point out if i made a mistake somewhere, its been a long time since i solomined.

@CapnBDL:

This was just one of the 1st hits on google, and I had a run through and looks to be fairly correct. You can solo mine with ccminer and any of the supported algorithms, for any coin that runs a properly configured QT wallet. You cannot solo mine cryptonotes with ccminer - for that you need to setup a local pool.

AFAIK is short for As Far As I Know

Oh...I'm sure glad I didn't just pm you. Thought it meant something else, an acronym for a young person, missing brain parts that you were cussing out.

edit; all this time I've been on here and cracking up when that was used...sorry....gotta laugh

Hey Folks....I know this isn't the right place, but quick question......how do I launch ccminer to solo mine a coin. I know it's a .bat but .... what?

Yeah...I know...newbs question, except, I've never actually tried to solo. I know the p2p & rcp ports.

AFAIK, you can't actually solomine with ccminer.

The work-around is that you would have to create your own pool, then point your workers at it.
It would reside in your local network, or even at the loopback address (127.0.0.1)

Not nice man....if 61 is a kid. No need to be rude. I said I've never solo mined. Tough crowd. Just trying to learn.

 Huh

edit: AFAIK is short for As Far As I Know

Nothing I said was not nice, It was actually very nice. 61?

Are you OK?

did some optimization on quark: +75% (roughly)  Grin Grin
yeah... well  Grin
10 Mh/s on 750Ti?? That's really great!!
will you merge the mods, make a new repo or sell it?
well... that was a bug it is rather +1MH/s for 980/780 and 0.5MH/s for the 750ti

Pretty good. I see some optimalizations as well.

I just tested the uppercase hack on nicehash. Seems to not work...

I submit a share, then I change some of the casing and submit again..

WHAT? 10Mh /w a 750Ti mining quark? Best I get is just under 6.5. No way...unbelievable. Almost speechless.
