Since I made the original post, network speed has quadrupled, and diff doubled.  Interestingly, I'm still getting a nice steady stream of coins.  Would be nice if someone tossed up a pool.

Ask any coin collector: a US one cent coin is not named a penny. It is a one cent coin, referred to as a "Lincoln Cent" to distinguish it from earlier issues. "Penny" is purely an informal term like "greenback" or "sawbuck."

If this alt-coin is indivisible, it means that if/when it rises in value you will only ever be able to send someone the value of a single unit as a minimum transfer...

Imagine if these were worth as much as Bitcoins are currently... the minimum you could transfer to someone would be over $100...  It is great to see that someone if trying to create something that actually has a difference, because most Alt-coins out there are just copy/paste jobs...  but this just wont work.

actually the units are small enough and numerous enough that it will not be a problem, encouraging round figures is a good idea.

Its a bit of a fun at the moment. just relax. If it ever gets big there will be more than enough solutions. Or it may even get hardforked and the smallest unit changed.

Right now I don't even have two pennies to rub together  Sad

Hey OP, are you from the U.S.?  I'm thinking that the name alone could make this immediately illegal in the U.S.

I believe you're over-thinking it, the Fed doesn't hold a trademark on the word Penny or the word Cent. Aside from the penny icon (fair use, its a digitally edited image), there's nothing that states these are actual US Currency or a replacement their of.

While it is illegal to make your own "currency", Its fully legal to use any form of the barter system you'd like in the US (virtual-cryptocurrency included) but if you cash out (or buy in), you'd better pay your taxes. This applies to ALL crypto-currency.

And as far as I know cents are also used on the Old Continent. Sorry but USA are only 1 country out of hundreds...

Coin seems quite good though.
