It seems I can't log onto #btcst anymore.

It isn't anything personal, you need to be registered with freenode's nickserv to join.  They've been having trouble with flooding as of late.

Pfft. Any disent for the last week has been an auto kick ban from ppt operators sucking up to pirate in hopes of getting their money back. No point in joining the channel anymore in my mind. Pirate is just going to cry excuses and act like a douche that he has proven to be. Naturally those he owes money to will wait for word from him in that crap bs channel till the cows come home.

This thread needs locking now. Show is over.

does anyone have the original title for this thing? I would like to see it here for posterity.

I still have the original version.
It's "People so sure of themselves they're willing to piss away money on it"

I would like to state here on behalf of Bitcoin Magazine that Matthew's bet has nothing at all to do with Bitcoin Magazine. This is not something approved by Bitcoin Magazine and images of Bitcoin Magazine placed there are used without consent of Bitcoin Magazine and without consulting with board of directors of Bittalk Media Ltd, ( publisher of Bitcoin Magazine ).

I'm not an expert on this but from my understanding with Matthew's bet is that pirate has to pay full interest due to the hour paid. And it is also my understanding that Pirate wanted the interest to stop at 8:30 am this morning Texas time.

Do you have a link or a quote for this?  It seems I can't log onto #btcst anymore.  If this is true, that the interest has stopped.  Then Matthew loses the bet.  Pirate has yet again broken his payout agreement.  Surprise, surprise.

both are online, matthew's quote is in his bet thread, and my understanding from pirate is posted in log form on page 29 of the tygrr bond p thread.

Yeah, I've already got matthew's quote memorized and screenshotted.  Smiley  Thanks for the directions to pirate's post.  Cheers!

I have to say - I was surprised to see those images there.
On the one hand, I thought 'smart use of a space which gets views' - but my other feeling was 'oh dear.. is that Bitcoin Magazine subscription fees that were being wagered!?'

I don't believe that is the case at all - but it's a thought I think is likely to occur to those viewing it.

Well hey, Black Pearl Investments pays 15% per week so maybe Pirate was just running a passthrough to a reputable investment of that kind!

To say they understood the risk involved contradicts most of their statements. That pirate was "highly trustworthy", that it was "highly unlikely he will default", that he "has every reason to pay his lenders back", that he shows "no signs of being a scammer", that there is "no evidence of ponzi", that it is "very possible to earn 7% per week" by any number of business models, that he has "always paid interest on time", "GPUmax", etc etc.

So no, all these statements display a distinct and utter failure to understand that, from the beginning, default was the most probable if not guaranteed outcome.

Seems to me it's not even the investors going after him, it's everyone else.

Slow day I guess.

So for Matthew to win, pirate will have to pay out more than he said he would hours ago. Yes Matthew technically can still win, but why take 10k more bets?

If Matthew does not pay the bet will he still run Bitcoin Magazine and all that other stuff? That would be a massive black eye...

Will he take the 15 000 btc "donation" from zhoutong with him ?

Where did anyone say anything about 15,000BTC? Wasn't it $12,000USD? Wow. Thanks for warning people to ever trust what you have to say.

Will he remain employed if he ends up 30k BTC in debt to the community at large and with a scammer tag on the forums?  Wink
