Hey guys,

I was thinking about withdrawing fiat currencies from cex.io as well after reading this i'm very reluctanct.

Do crypto withdrawls still work? And what kind of further documents did you have to provide?

Withdrawals of crypto is working now, without any limits, and you don't need any documents for that.

my cryptocapital withdrawal has been pending for 3 days until now.

They got too many requests from newbees I think, and support just cannot do all of them so fast.

Hope so.

but they really should let people know in advance that they would require further verification in case of withdraw more than certain amount of cash. so that I can do the verification in advance or I could manage to not trade there with them so much..... shouldn't they?

I don't think they have financial problems.
crypto withdrawals are always fast.

I just think they have a very poor bank for wire/sepa withdrawals. So try to avoid this.

nope!! it's completely not a problem of their bank. in my case, and also some people's case, the status of the withdrawal requests remain "pending" which means these requests are still on process by either CEX's finance team or compliance team. and yes! they are still asking me about where your fund came from.....etc.

still remember that at the beginning, 2 DAYS right after i submitted the withdrawal request, because the withdrawal still remained "pending" so i submitted a support ticket to ask how it is going. Ok! they did reply me within 2 hours, but they said that they usually take ONE day to process bank transfer, transaction may take 2-3 up to 20 banking days for BANKING SYSTEM to process with the payment.

OK.... I wait. after another 2 DAYS, i submitted a ticket to ask about the "pending" means the transfer is now processing by the bank or still in their hand. NO REPLY. next day submit ticket again, NO REPLY!!

right after 4 DAYS!! after i submitted ticket once a day. they replied the ticket and merged all related tickets into one. a supervisor said that he will escalate this matter to the concerned department. someone in charge will get back to me. 6 hours after, finance team explained me that due to their strict KYC and AML rules of compliance department, they gotta conduct additional verification of the transactions i made.
i soon sent all documents they required within 1 hour.

then guess what, ANOTHER 4 DAYS PAST!!!!!!!!!! no any further replies until nearly the evening of that day i submitted ticket to ask what's going on with all these. they finally replied and ask me for further documents. OK i gave within 1 hour.

2 DAYS again!!! they ask for further documents........... i gave within 2 hours.

now guess how many days this time gonna take?..........

in brief: at first, they said the delay was due to the bank processing.(means that they had already sent the money out and it is being processed by bank).  after 8 days! they start to ask for further verification for their own KYC & AML policies(which means the money is still with them, all along!!!).

Are they really so busy??? or they slow all these down on purpose??? due to what reasons??

Despite CEX finally emailing me back they still have not resolved the issue. My withdrawal is still stuck. I have asked them to just cancel the withdrawal and let me cash out as Bitcoin, but it looks like I am back to waiting many days for any response again.

omg....................................
the worst co. I've ever seen.

Do you think that they might have financial problems?

I'm not sure. It's entirely possible that they are just swamped from a huge influx of new customers. Or maybe they have financial problems. I have no idea. But it would be helpful if CEX could tell us why the customer service is currently like this.

On May 21st I made a SEPA withdrawal. The money still hasn't arrived. Meanwhile I wrote two emails to the customer support (one on Thursday and one yesterday) asking why my withdrawal isn't processed. Up to now, I did not receive any reply. That's why I now bring it up on this forum. I will update here, as soon as I receive my money or at least an explanation regarding the delay.

I initiated a withdrawal on May 2. I was first asked to complete an application form, which I did, and then I was asked to explain where the coins came from, which I also did. Since then, I have not heard a peep from them. I have tried opening another support ticket as well as emailing someone at the company, to no avail. So now the next step unfortunately is to post to Bitcointalk and Reddit in the hopes of resolving this issue.

My recommendation would be to not use this service until they get their act together.

Sigh, less than an hour after posting this to Reddit and Bitcoin Talk I got an email reply. It really shouldn't be necessary to publicly shame companies in order to get a basic level of customer service. Sadly, this isn't the only company where this seems to be the case... Sad

More than 18 hours ago I made an ETH withdrawal. It is still stuck. Customer service turned unresponsive after an initial "We have escalated this issue to CEX.IO supervisor ..". So, up to now I did not receive my ETH and I did not receive any explanation as to why my ETH are withheld. That's why I now bring up this issue on this forum. I will update here, as soon as the withdrawal is processed or a decent explanation is given.

ETH/USD Margin Trading Launched on CEX.IO

We are pleased to announce ETH/USD margin trading on CEX.IO, following numerous requests from our users. This is the fourth pair for trading with 1:2 and 1:3 leverage on the exchange, after BTC/USD, BTC/EUR and ETH/BTC.

Margin trading is a perfect way to trade more than you’d be able to trade using your funds only, and that can result in a higher profit. Trading with leverage on our exchange is easy and intuitive. Therefore, not only traders can take advantage of it, but also cryptocurrency beginners.

To trade with leverage, simply proceed to Trade Page, select the trading pair (ETH/USD, BTC/USD, BTC/EUR, ETH/BTC) and click on the Margin Trading tab, as shown on the screenshot below.

I appreciate your margin trading facility. Unfortunately, it is really awkward to use. Here are some points of criticism:
1. No settle functionality.
2. Positions can only be opened via market orders. (Limit orders cannot be used.)
3. Positions can only be closed as a whole (no partial closing). For example, when having a long position, a margin sell will result in a second open (short) position, instead of (partially) cancelling the existing open long position.
4. Postions can only be closed via market orders. This, in combination with the fact that a position must be closed as a whole with one order, renders a closure often extremely expensive due to slippage.
5. (Accidentally) clicking the close button immediately results in a full closure of the position. There is no warning or confirmation diaglog.

Please have a look at how margin trading is done with Kraken!

Hello HPt,

Thank you for your feedback. We are working on improving the margin trading and we will make sure that more possibilities (including those you have mentioned) are included in future releases.
