This is not good news for me. Personally, although I respect the Chinese for their intelligence and hard-working, I do not like China at all. And if they become the largest global economy, there will be a lot of consequences in which Western people do not accept. They like to manipulate the world in order to gain the most advantages for themselves, not for others. Therefore, you need to consider before starting to work with a Chinese company which related to the government.

Even when they become the number one country, will their citizens be happy with that? Most of them are being controlled by the centralized system created by the government and no way to escape.

China has its own problems, but nevertheless there is good chance to become number one in the next 10 years.

I recently watched a video about the plan of the China in these upcoming years, they are building a lot of road and other mode of transportation in different countries especially in Asia wherein the transportation are all towards to China which only means they want to dominate the global trade. The China is currently silent in these past months but for sure their economy will become popular in these following years. The chinese communists are so intelligent wherein a lot of countries have huge debt and have part of their economy. The expansion of China are crazy so for sure they will become the largest economy soon.

I dont see the China overtaking the US as GDP is concern because aside the covid 19 issue which lead to recession of some countries China have home problem which I am sure will have lead to some big if the pandemic issue didnt happen. But, i think the US also need to join the Chinese by creating their own national digital currency.

I thought China has already overtaken the US this year, or was that just projection? I thought US gdp was around $24tr and China around $28tr or something similar (but with the 4tr+ difference).
According to the current GDP result provided by World Bank. The US is still leading China with $21.4 trillion GDP whilst China GDP was estimated as  $14.3 trillion. I dont know how accurate the result is though.

I've seen many notable projections also about China and Russia no longer being countries by 2028 (eg splitting due to war or civil differences) which is something I think we'll see a large pressure on a split at some point (especially in china).

             TWO ECONOMICS
The corona virus pandemic and it's economic fallout will help china rise past the US to become the world's largest economy, a new report shows. Beijing is now expected to overtake the US by 2028, as opposed to 2033, a UK think tank said in its letest report.

                   2028
''We expect the United States' share of the global GDP to decline from 2021 onwards, and for the country to eventually be overtaken by China as the world's largest economy,'' the Centre for Economic and Business Research (CEBR) said in an annual report released on Saturday.
''We now expect this to happen in 2028 five years sooner than in the previous edition of the WELT, '' referring to the think tank's Would Economic League Table, witch measures countries'   economic performance.

China was 'skillful' with the pandemic

The quickened pace has been attributed to the defference between Beijing and Washington's response to the corona virus pandemic and the recovery that followed. The report hailed China's ''skillful management of the pandemic,'' where an early lockdown kept the numbers under control.

The report added that the Us would aslo see a strong post-pandemic rebound in the coming year, but its growth would allow down to 1.9% and 1.6% over the years that follow.

                WHAT IT IS?
China on the other hand is headed for an average growth rate of 5.7% a year from 2021 till 2025. Between 2026 and 2030, it is expected to slow down to 4.5% a year.

Japan is expected to remain the third-largest economy until the early 2030s, when India could overtake it, pushing Germany to the fifth spot.
