On the Pool Work Page, I am not under the "Payouts" Section... But further down, I am under the "Postponed."

On blocktrail, it says CKKano Pool

https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/pool/kano

^^^

Can someone tell me where to see the blocks that are found under CK Pool? When was the last block found?

I've been confusing the two of them smh.. I've been in CKPool the whole time. occsasionaly send a miner to the solo Ck pool, but i havent used Kano yet... but everytime kano finds a block, I was thinking it was CK...

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question..

But i have been mining on CK Pool for a few months now..

I'm new to mining and finally will have a decent setup; with two S9's, 1 S3, 1S4, and a bunch of USB Miners (Butterfly Labs, Nano, BitFury, Erupters, etc.)

And I will have another two S9's by the weekend.. So I will be moving from about 33 th/s to 60 th/s..

I am just confused what the difference is between CK Pools and Kano Pools...

People seem to always group them together.. But what is the difference. I am signed up with Kano.is, but am not sure how to move my BTC Wallet Username; which I have been building up all my time on, to the username at Kano.

I noticed that they are different links - ckpool

example - KANO:
stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:3333

example - CK POOL:
stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333

Can someone please just tell me what the difference is, or if they are really just the same..

Thank you so much,

- Michael

The two pools are separate. They just use the same backed software. Changing pools is like changing employers, you'll start again at 0 at the new pool.

I've opened up a special port for rentals that need a very high diff here as well at pool.ckpool.org:4334 . Please if you test it out wait at least 5 minutes before confirming the hashrate is showing up as expected given the very high diff.

Hi all,
Newbie here, I have one S9 (13.5th) currently pointed at Slush Pool if I pointed it here and If a block was found before xmas what's the rough payout for that block I would see? I've looked at the reward page for the last payouts and there were some smaller rewards on there than I'm getting daily at slush. I also don't fully understand the top 100 thing? Is that just bragging rights or do only the top 100 contributors get paid?

Thanks in advance
Ben
The top 100 contributors get paid with every block. 50 of the remainder of the miners that are above dust threshold get paid interleaved over successive blocks.

being a newbie, can you provide what the stats (A: R: HW: WU:) mean? I'm currently running 6 gekkos but, want to learn as much as I can before I go for the S9s. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about the CGMiner UI?

If so:

A: = Accepted shares
R: = Rejected shares
HW: = Hardware errors
WU: = Worker utility, shares per minute rate

These are defined in the top post of the CGMiner thread and are also in the readme files.

My 2¢:

At this point in time, there is profit to be had in rentals on this pool because of the payout structure and the pool being young. This next block (especially with a current value of 20+BTC) will give me a 3+:1 reward on the rentals I had in the last block. While this certainly will not be the case for everyone (and rewards will likely come back down soon), that still doesn't count the next blocks to come. The caveat is that return it is over time, there are diminishing returns over time (until "expected" equilibrium is reached), and time/blocks brings an increasing variance, but the #s are what the #s are.

This pool is one of the exceptions to the "rentals don't make returns" "rule" and that will fade with time; so, if you're going to do a rental, the optimal time to do so is before the total shares grows larger and larger to where that advantage is gone (each new share diminishes the "value" of all shares before it by creating a larger divisor until your average payout will roughly be that of "expected").

The only reason that I, personally, am not doing any rentals right now is because I'm spread so thin that I have no liquidity without dipping into my cold storage wallets.

Interesting, I was aware of companies/people out there which offered contracts for processing power, but didn't think it was all that popular. Guess I am wrong.
The current rented/rentable rate on nicehash alone is 68.722 PH (and 63PH on MRR, but some of them are resellers from nh)

What is the overall opinion on here regarding renting processing power? I have been more concentrated on getting my own small rig up and running and have not looked much into it to be honest. So far all I have read is that to get a return on investment you would need to throw down the money for a decent amount of time to get much out of it. Can't say I was anywhere near sold on the idea but I admit I know little and am always willing to hear other opinions.

Our overall hashrate is in a constant state if flux. We have a number of heavy hitters who will rent out their gear but point it here when not renting that hash out to a customer.

That's my understanding of it at least

I can't speak to the Solo question, but I think it's been around longer?

Any idea why all of a sudden more people jumped into the pool? Yesterday at least it was consistently sitting in the mid to high 500s now it is saying upwards of 2.0p... Yes I am new just getting some gekko 2pacs set up and pointed to the pool so sorry if this is a stupid question.

Also, is there any reason solo ckpool has more people other than the possibility of more reward? I see they have solved quite a few blocks...
