I finally got my first miner setup yesterday. Joining this pool was easiest part of process. Have read through all documentation now and everything looks good. Thanks to those involved for the effort. I'll be here for a while, and will add more hashes soon. Oh and merry christmas.

Looks good. My father in law brought me 1.75L of bourbon. Maybe that will help hit a block, or two, or three?%

My guess is Yes, when hashrate rises you can easily get bumped back to the postponed list if you are a small contributor.

We lost a LOT of hashpower recently but are obliged to pay them out their shares.
So it really sucks for those of us who stay as it will take a LONG time.
Only upside is those who stay are now eating into their portion of the reward. Our derp will rise at slightly faster rate now.

BTC difficulty DOWN by 9.6%
BTC/USD UP to $4143.24
our pool DOWN to 821 workers @ 6.47PH/s

I know crypto isn't linear, but I don't see the correlation here at all... Hurricane, Typhoon, Massive Windows update? Nope...
I'm sorry...
I don't see the connection this time...
New hardware - arriving soon to double my hashrate on our pool...again... feeling bullish! and...

Thanks. I was afraid that might be the answer. I imagine the pool will get more miners and grow again when the difficulty goes down again in 6 days. When that
happens the full 5N time should go down considerably. https://btc.com/stats/diff
[/quote]

The diff going down alone won't bring more miners to the party.  Its more to do with the state of economics.. Being that I would guess most that left were mining at a loss (ie. electric costs).  Unless btc goes back up to around the 6-7k mark, you won't see much new activity.  You may seen waves from manufacturers burning in their machines from time to time here, but as it stands, I would not be suprised to see this current pool rate static for the most part till this bear market relaxes.

No they're static I believe. You'd have to change addresses. -ck will be able to confirm or deny though.

I change my payout and when you do change addresses you will ramp up on new and ramp down on the other, it will balance out in the end as derp rises on one and falls on the old.

I've got a quick question:

I've changed some of my worker names, so the old ones are still there, showing 0 current hashrate, but still some average hashrate for the week, etc.

Will those disappear once the avg hashrate goes to 0 (and my total shares gets zero'd on a future payout)?

Or will they just stay there?

Ha.. Almost a unanswerable question.. IF the pool hash rate were steady (ie. not changing due to miners coming and going) then you should be able to figure out
about what your 5N would be by checking the active users/miners tab and finding miners that have the same or as close to your hash rate AND that have been
mining for >100 days.. Unanswerable because if miners leave, your payout may/should/well increase based upon a higher acceptance rate, and obviously lower
the higher the hash rate.  So in essence, there is no hard and fast number to give you.

About 50 days or so I believe.

http://www.yourcomputergenie.com/?address=[input your payout address here]

Don't use the brackets in the url.
LOL just 28 hours ago it was about 49 days to full 5N, now it's 105 days and going up as I type.
Not a good incentive to attract new miners. I'm wondering, if one started mining a couple days ago at
40 something days to 5N and now 2 days later it's over 100 days to full 5N, which number of days applies to that miner?

Fractions.....run the numbers.
Maybe I wasn't clear enough. The question is if a miner begins mining at the pool when it takes 50 days to get to full 5N
and then 2 days later it now takes a new miner 100 days to get to full 5N, does the first miner still have 50 days to get to full 5N
or is it now more? "Fractions.....run the numbers" I'm not sure how to "run the numbers" on this question.

Not sure where the 49 hours for full 5N came in at.. Maybe 49 days.. In any case, no, your 5N is based upon up-to-date numbers,
so it will vary depending upon your acceptance rate, current pool rate, etc..  Hence the 'run the numbers statement above'..

Thank you for your reply. Basically you're saying that the time for getting to full 5N is constantly changing. The next
logical question is how do you know when you are at full 5N? This stat is not listed in the stat generator above.

If you're 25 days into a 50 day 5N (ie half way) and then the 5N changes to 100 days, then you only have 50 days to get to 5N (still half way). It's total number of shares that matter, not days.

You're still getting paid for every, single, hash here regardless of ramp up. If anything it's just more BTC per block as we sip some on some good shit. Personally as a hobby miner I'll be able to soak one more month of all four of my units online after that I'll be fine with one s9 LPM and some newpacs running. My gpu's will go offline before those.
Thanks for the info. My S9i LPM miners are running at 14T and 1148 watts. I can hang out here and sip some LaPhroaig and wait for the block.
