Out until September unless value increases. Heat and energy cost shut me out. Enjoy!

So dropped, to -2 as well. but prior to that temps went down to 39/87 now 39/84. No going to try and limp to our next block.
Tomorrow is supposed to be hotter than today, in the Portland area. I have 72TH running in the garage and nothing overheating
yet this week. Avalons clocked down to -2 also. I'm running 2 exhaust fans behind the miner rack and the garage door is cracked open
about 12 inches for intake air. I like to run the exhaust fans as close to the miners as possible.

So I dropped down to two Avalons. Watching temps. Thinking I can sustain through the heat with my exhaust as is with these on. Temps read 87C exit, 40C intake atm.

Would love to add a s9i but they auto-tune from what I've read, little user control
My V9 is most likely a rebranded S7 and more expensive to run
However, I've under clocked it down to 300mhz and it runs 8 ~ 10 C cooler in the garage (2T/hs)
Crazy but I'm going with a second one to add to the cKpool
Prefer to be in control even with the higher operating cost  Wink

My S9is (14T Models) do not allow any frequency or fan speed manual adjustments.
The miner configuration page only shows pool configuration options. These miners are latest
July 1 batch. Could be the earlier batches allowed more manual configurations. They're great miners,
however, and the 14T models save more energy than the other S9i models according to YT reviews.
I don't blame bitmain for taking away the manual configurations. So many people are overclocking
their miners and then probably try to get warranty work on them after they set their miner back to default,
thus deleting all logs that show they were overclocked. I like what Halong does with their T1 configuration
options: "Efficiency, Balanced, Factory, and Performance." No chance to void the warranty but some control over the miner.

Got busy planning a new bathroom remodel.  Going for 2 racks of lamb ribs. One for the wife one for me.  Dessert will be Mt Rainier cherries and Hammonton New Jersey blueberries piled on top of greek yogurt which will have a sprinkling of sliced almonds.

May skip drinking of alcohol and simply go with black coffee.  Of course I can pour a few shots of  homemade vanilla vodka in it. Grin

This is beautiful.

I'm pretty sure you can downclock the s9i, haven't had a need other than putting the fan on a static speed for the one units that whine/sing to really. I'll have to read through some of the posts. Maybe it will be as easy as inspecting the UI page and displaying the frequency like the fan speed.

... what would be the bonus for him?

I've wondered about that for a while too! -ck, any easy way to estimate?

It's always been a small reward for small miners. It's approximately equal to the minimum payout threshold for the pool so if you were always below threshold, it would start putting you into the next payouts list.

I've been tempted to increase it but if I increase it too much that would start biasing towards the biggest miner, taking away from everyone else and we only really have one very big miner.

And just for the record, here is the equation:
herp = sqrt(MIN(sdiff, network_diff) / diff) * diff / 2;

Current network diff is 5.3 trillion, and being an S9 his mining diff would have been about 10k.

So the block solving share would have counted for about 115 million HERP when a normal share at 10k diff averages 10k.

And here I was about to post some random beer pic.

Seems like a large increase from 1 hash = 1 hash. 11.5k% up, lotteries are fun. Thinking I'll drink the winderlea. Cause fuck, it was a nice run that's now making four days seem long. I blame philipma's lack of menu. just sayin'.

Looking at wattage though, the gable is likely better for removal and dump. Cheaper even to build those out than the other unit I linked before last. The swamp cooler might be an nice touch on days like this week. Let's hope for a block though.

I guess we have at least three in Portland area, should we have a -ckpool carnivore dinner someday?
Shocked Shocked Shocked
What about the vegetarian miners??

The unicorn of the bunch eh? Fogo de chow it is then.

What are peoples thoughts on the this? 250 watts? https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hessaire-3-100-CFM-3-Speed-Portable-Evaporative-Cooler-Swamp-Cooler-for-950-sq-ft-MC37V/304078772

evaporative cooler?
This may be dating me, but I grew up with swamp coolers in the imperial valley of California. 120F in the shade and all anyone had back then was swamp coolers. They didn't use much energy and they cooled it  off enough so we could survive the desert heat. I think you have a great idea there.

I suppose I'm over thinking now. Should really just box out some gable fans in the ceiling and let my wife pick the covers.

Gable fans are pretty good.

I just added a Halong T1 to my mini farm. How do I know if asic boost is working?
Because it's mining. The T1s don't mine without asicboost.
