Have problem with 7870 rig - any time i start miner i have drivers crash. tried to lower threads - same result

1. Install Catalyst v13.12.
2. Disable overclocking.
3. Reboot computer.

I'm having some out of memory issues with this miner, perhaps there is a memory leak? My machine has 4 280x, and 4 GB memory. Is this too little? Perhaps it was just a fluke, but I woke up this morning to find the miner spitting out a blank error dialog, and windows complaining it had to shut down the miner due to memory. So far I am frustrated, being unable to keep the miner stable for more than 24 hours. For the amount of time it did run however, it mined coin extremely well, clearly Claymore knows his shit and I am grateful! Hopefully I can figure out this issue, has anyone else had memory related problems?

At this moment I saw this problem only twice on my rigs, however, I was not able to find any memory leaks in my code. It looks like when HashCnt=512 and miner uses about 1.5Gb of GPU RAM sometimes it can cause problems in OpenCL API that cause memory leaks. I will add "-hc" option to specify HashCnt directly so you can decrease GPU RAM size and if it helps it will confirm the reason of this problem. Also I will add some debug log for all OpenCL API so you can post it to me.

+1

Listen its wierd because i have the exact same issue with my rig with 5x280 that has 4GB ram, but my other rig with 5x280 works perfectly stable with 2GB ram! running 3 days straight

Claymore?

I have different cardtypes, 7970, 280x and 290.
What would be the recomended settings in the Oc tool for theese cards?
Someone wants to share settings and results?

7970 - core 1150 memory 1840
280x - core 1100 memory 1500
280  - core 1000 memory 1500

use msi afterburner or sapphire trixx
your voltage settings you'll have to figure out as each card, even if its the same brand, may require a different voltage.
Thnx alot!
What is your stats with theese settings, 4ch and trt?
On my 280x with stock settings i get 110-125k 4ch and trt from 360-410.
I run only 2 gpus each rig with an amd fx 8 core cpu, non OC yet.
From what i have been reading, theese numbers seem pretty good??
Would an OC still improve this?
Anyone with 280x toxic? this one seems to perform right under my 290`s...
No OC, did undervolt bios.

where in miner avg speed?

4ch/h ... 10ch/h are the speed values. 10ch/h * 24 is chains per days (cpd) value, but it takes several days of mining to get this value correctly. You can use 7ch/h value instead, check my message above how to estimate your cpd value.

Today I calculated some stats for my rigs for last four days:

Rig #1: 0.098 10ch/h per one card, x24 = 2.35 cpd.
Rig #2: 0.077 10ch/h per one card, x24 = 1.84 cpd.
Rig #3: 0.089 10ch/h per one card, x24 = 2.13 cpd.
Rig #4: 0.067 10ch/h per one card, x24 = 1.6 cpd.

So average performance of v2.0 on a single 290X is about 1.98 chains per day.
Every rig is 4770 CPU (load 25%) and 4 290X cards core=1050MHz, mem=1350MHz, average values 270 TRT, 165K 4ch/h, 115 7ch/h.
You can estimate your cpd value using your 4ch/h and 7ch/h values.
I will add estimated and average cpd values in miner stats in next version to simplify calculations.

I'm mining good with 3 rigs - R9 270,but sometime it suddenly stopped the driver then i must restart the rig then run the bat file again, any comment with that weird error ? ( donated 10% also Cheesy )

Try to disable overclocking and see if it still happens, that's the most probable reason.

trying to mine on my i7's hd 4000 graphics without luck.
the device listed as pci bus 0, device 2, function 0
my 7950 is pci bus 1, device 0, function 0

so i would assume di would need to be set to 2 since 0 runs on my 7950, however says device can not be found.
anyone have a clue how to make this work?

Miner supports only AMD cards, please read readme file.

Short stats about my income:
3x 280X (4th card breaks rig) + 2x 270X - 1kW checked on Watt-o-metter -> 6 coins in... 12 hours.
With my power costs tommorow will be shutdown moment :-/
