My triple R9 290 rig soaks a little over 1000 watts, I figure 320 or a bit over per card, on ETH - that's with a mid-level BIOS flashed out of TheStilt's line, and at 1100/1250 settings.
Haven't tried it on ZEC yet.

Don't be so wrapped up in Sol's that you waste power and actually make less money with more hash.
Unless of course it's mid-November in Canada and you would just be running the baseboard heat anyway (and getting no Sols for it)
Right, Damn this heater that pays for itself is awesome. Even though for being November in Saskatchewan it's damn nice out.

How many watts are the older cards doing compared the the 470/480?
i figure my 390s draw somewhere around 180-200 watts each (total at wall, not gpuz reading) on zec @ 95 sol. with eth its around 250-275 watts each.

Can anyone tell me your speed with R9 380 4gb? I'am getting roughly 45 Sols/s.
mine 380 2G doing around 42-44 my 2 GB sapphire nitro 380ITX (1100/1400) gets 48-50 -i 1 v4.0
v4.0, Nitro R9-380 2GB (1000/1500) -I 0 48H/s, with -I 2 49H/s (CPU usage - 100%).
must have better gpu (nitro) than mine, 44 is best i get, and max memory is 1450 (asus)-1475 (xfx&sapphire) 1500 crash
and doing (1100/1400) is also not possible (or maybe with some more voltage)

The new RX series are significantly more power efficient. I believe an RX 480 consumes about 66% of the power of an R9 290 (~165W for 480 vs ~250W for a 290 when under heavy load)

Compared to ETH, my 480 use about 115w (GPU) and the 280x ca. 350w (stock settings). On ZEC the power usage is much lower. 
Is 3 rx 470's better than 2 rx 480's?
