What Do you think about replacing a r9 280 with a Gtx 1060? Same Hash, lower power..

It might be better to use the 1080 Ti.

Lol yeah, bit pricey card.. 0.07 usd/kW is my price so profit is good

Minning Zcash or buy Zcash this is my curious question.

It depends on your electricity price.

Guys, do you want ZEC to rise? If you do, why you put 40-50-60 btc sell walls on poloniex during pumps? Do you really think that your lazy trading will bring you profit? Place small bids several times during the pump if you are so eager to sell at that price. Thank you!

Doubtful it is the miners, as most who are going to sell, sell small amounts daily and not accumulate 40-60 BCT worth of ZEC to just to place a sell wall as you describe a few pennies higher than the market rate. Much more likely the action of speculators and/or whales trying to manipulate the price.

So is there a way for miners to help raise ZEC?

If Zec makes 5-6% there is every chance  the pump will gain speed and reach 20-50 and even 100%. It is a pity that all pumps ended too early because of 1-2 noobs that put sell walls. The moment they put 20 and more btc the pump stops, because the traders see that there is no way this wall will be eaten provided that the 24hr volume is so small and the usual trades are around 1-2 btc max. Of course the bid will never be filled so the noob gets no profit at all but he damages the profits of the whole community.

got my investment out plus $5 for the trouble. Every coin I have now is pure profit. But since ZEN will be the one supporting IPFS from the let go wondering how high it will go

Hello,

I'm mining with a AMD R9 290 SAPPHIRE.
I'm wondering if someone can help me to modify the bios for lower consumption please?

many thanks.

I found that using MSI Afterburner and playing with the core voltage settings (mine is now at -100), the intensity settings in the miner software, and the powlim settings, that I could reduce power consumption significantly without the loss of much Hashing capability. I measured the power draw with a plug in monitor at the wall.

I'm getting averages 1150/hs with one r9 290 and two r9 Fury's using 600w of power using the stock BIOS.

Do anyone have same problem like my Radeon 390x - it is beginning mine with speed of 400H/s and after 1 hour it is just 250H/s...

Catalist 15.12

My Radeon 390x get --» 501 H/s in Overclock
My Radeon 480 Nitro+ get --» 375 H/s in Overclock

Windows 10 64 bits and Catalist 16.12.2
can u tell me overclock setup for 390x and nitro?

Is flypool having a problem paying out atm ? The last payment I had was almost 1 day ago. I have currently set my payment amount to be 0.1 ZEC - I am averaging about 0.65 ZEC so I normally get a few payouts a day. I am currently about 0.5 ZEC short - any ideas ?

I do not have this problem. How big is your immature balance?

Guys my stock gigabyte windforce 280x only draw 260H/s currently, is there anything i can do to increase it?

I think it is quite resaonable speed.

R9 280X SHOULD HASH ABOVE 300Sols/s--

My 3-year-old PowerColor 280X cards hash at 320Sols/s. They are overclocked at 1100 core / 1500 mem (1030 core / 1500 mem stock).  The overclock setting is stable for months at a time.  Any higher clock settings are unstable.  These cards are faster than RX 470 cards, but use more power.

Is your power supply enough?  My cards run on FGLRX drivers.  If you have updated your drivers to AMDGPU Pro (v17.4.3+ is supposedly compatible), your 280X cards may not perform as well.  If your cards are running hot (80 deg C or more), they may be throttling.

I don't have too many tips, but those 3 items (power, drivers, heat-throttling) are worth a look.  You might also try changing the riser, or mounting the card directly on the motherboard.  Good luck!       --scryptr

Anyone know how much less power the 7990 draws when downvolted from 1200 mVolt to 1000? And does anyone know what the card draws in total? Core clock set at 900 (original 1000). Cards produce 560 sols/s.
My 7990 drops about 60w down by moving to 1070mV. I don't set less.

I bought a power meter! At stock voltage my entire rig pulled 1300w at Wall! Thats 2 7990 and one r9 280. At 1volt/900 core the rig pulls 910w! 2 7990 only pulls 740w, and that is including one idling r9 280. Running one 7990, other Cards idling, rig pulls 480w.

My conclusion is that one card pulls 260w or 130w per core and that is very efficent in my opinion!

The 7990 is more efficient than the 7970 as they have better cores.

Very impressive, it is no point to change to several Rx 470s then. Unless they can undervolt Alot!
