Is it possible to mine with older ATI cards like series 5700 or 6800?
Try this cards on mining Cryptonight through Claymore's CryptoNote Miner 9.7. In his readme:
"This version is for recent AMD videocards only: 7xxx and 2xx, also 6xxx and 5xxx. No nVidia support."
thanks but not working and series 5000 and 6000 are not recent graphic cards but they are about 5 years old or more.

Having issues too. I have the following:

MSI Z170A
RX580 x 5 cards - was suppose to be 7, but can only do 5 with the AMD drivers (17.4.4)
Kaby Lake processor
two PSU 1200 & 1300 EVGA and HP 94% platinum
Windows 10
claymore 12.4 - basic settings as outlined by claymore.

I have 3 machines that are all having similar problems. After a few hours they freeze up my computer. It is always the same GPU in each machine - GPU 1. It's also the same GPU that gets error 43's. I then disable it in device manager, then re-enable it and it's working correctly again. I have a feeling its the new AMD driver. I can tell it's just not very stable and it hates 5 cards. Does 4 cards okay and won't do 6 cards at all.

Here are two of the logs towards the end when it crashes and freezes up my computer.

Anyone have any good advice? Or same conclusion I came to? I also tried -old 1 and pretty much all the intensity levels.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm having an issue with my Gigabyte R9 280x (windforce OC).
The card hashrate is at 300+-, (core clock at 1100) but after a while, for no reason the hashrate drops at 50% (and I have noticed that the core clock drops to 501).
I have do reboot the system or disable/enable the card in device manager to hash at 300 again (for a while, after it drops at 150 again)

Anyone else having the same issue or any idea what is causing this?  Huh

Thank you in advance!
are you running just the one card?

What fan temp control software are you running?

Sounds like it getting hot and throttling down the clock

Hi,

Thank you for the reply!
yes just one card in the pc!
I use afterburner and fan speed is set at 100% (temp at 85c-92c)

HEAT THROTTLING--

The card will throttle at those temperatures.  Temperatures over 85 deg C are too high, and can wear out a card too soon.  Temperatures over 90 deg C can damage even the best cards.       --scryptr

R9 280x doesn't heat throttle at under about 93 C (stock BIOS) - they were designed to run way hot, though I do NOT recommend letting them get that hot for longevity reasons.
If that card is hitting 92 with 100% fan speed, sounds like time to downclock it some or one+ of the fans are not working well.

Hi friends!

For those who has 290s. Im getting 360 h/s. But the card runs at 80 degree celsius. 76% fan speed. Is it normal for that card? I have several 280x. And they run at less then 70°.

R9 290 was traditionally a very hot running card, much more so than the 280x.

BIOS from TheStilt helps a lot for mining usage, though you then tend to want to overclock and end up driving the temp back up again....

Is it possible to mine with older ATI cards like series 5700 or 6800?

i believe the minimum is 7xxx series.
so what is profotable to mine with odler GPUs?
Why is not possible to mine ZEC odler graphic cards it is way more profitable than CPUs
My old 5850 could at least not mine zec, and even if it could i am guessing it would be slow..
much faster than CPU, but it is not possible because miners are not maded for it. my 7700 makes 40 sols, which none of CPUs can not.

Hi guys,

Running into problems with 1 of my rig , have there 1x 8990, 1x R9290 and 1x R9 295X2

The rig worked stable for 997 hours without any problem. It freezed in the night and since then I have the watchdog problem and the whole rig freezes after some minutes.

Any idea what got wrong? How to fix it?

Unplug your system from the wall, remove the motherboard battery for few minutes. After starting again if the problem persist, start checking your hardware. Pretty common problem is burned extender cables, loose connections. If that doesn't help start looking for problems in the bigger parts - motherboard/cpu/gpu. Is your rig running well when not mining?

Yes, this is since the begining, its the dual core GPU R9 295X2, it has an AIO cooler and it also shows the temp of just 1 core.

even if i put it on intensity 1 it freezes. Any advice?

have you tried switching of pc and unplug power supply for couple of minutes,if that's not helping next step is to remove drivers with DDU and reinstall which will rule out software issues and should fix your problems, other than that check risers and power cables for damage, check that card is not overheating with fans not coming on also
