Do you know what is very weird,  a lot of news outlets telling the world that Vircurex is based in Beijing China.

I thought it was out of Canada.

Are you thinking of cavirtex?  Similar name and yes, that one is based in Canada.

I thought it was out of Canada.  But someone tell me its in Poland.  Eitherway,   maybe they are trying to avoid prosecution?

How can they be based in China when the were able to handle USD and EUR deposits?

I ended up selling my small BTC balance for an alt coin earlier today (not DOGE) and withdrawal confirmed to my wallet minutes ago, so anyone who says that all coin withdrawals are blocked atm is spreading FUD.  Of course this could change in the future

Well, I got out.  I took an altcoin haircut.  I keep hearing that scene from It's a Wonderful Life: "Old Man Potter will pay 50 cents on the dollar!  50 cents on the dollar?  Better to get half, than none!"

All cryptos are FIAT digital currency. Do not use.

Has anyone successfully withdrawn any of the other coins ?

I just dumped my FTC for DVC and got this "wallet is currently offline" message on the withdrawal attempt.

My BTC deposit continues to be MIA.

DVC and QRK are empty currently AFAIK.

DGC works.

FYI

"2013-05 VCX is currently not paying dividends, see released reports for details."
"...Depending on the trading volume development this is expected to take 9 to 12 months..."

Now it's almost that 12 months, so there is need to steal money from ordinary users, investors are already robbed.
it was a well planned scam, twice scammed. once at VCX shares and now Vircurex itsef...

I see withdraw button only for XPM. I am not withdrawing though. Cryptos haven't been fun in the last few months. So if you want to panic, buy mine at 0.005 0.007, and 0.01 BTCs.

edit:  XPM is the only coin besides the frozen ones that  I have non-zero balance for. So "only for XPM" maybe is just for me.

The options aren't great:

(1) Stay put and have your BTC confiscated.
(2) Buy an alt-coin that is 50% priced above the market and hope to withdraw.

Alternatively you could

(3) Deposit alt-coin, sell at inflated price and hope your BTC doesn't get confiscated.

There is no withdraw button for any coin

What?  Did they shut everything down?

This is not good at All another gox? Like I said before cold storage is king. Your own that is.

in my opinion they postponed by 24hrs the deadline for setting up the frozen accounts for the following 2 reasons:

1) frenzy trading is generating so many fees they never see in their life (which is good for increasing the btc to reimburse).
2) possibly they are even selling the alt with a 50% profit on market price, (which can also contribute to increase their reserve)

Just ridiculous that people in the inside can make a killing on this arbitrage opportunity.     If you know that you can get your BTC back, then you would play this game.

Look at all the markets at Vircurex,  everyone is panicking trying to get out.  Most transactions are on the ask side.

Nobody is his right mind is going to sell their Alt if the BTC proceeds are subject to confiscation.   Unless of course, you're an insider.

Yesterday, after the press release there was at some point more than 1000 LTC for sale @ 0.0250 (where the market value was 0.0279).
A few hours later, that was at least down to 100 LTC...

Similar here... took a loss trading out to DOGE that was trading at 50% more than the market price.

A 35% haircut is better than the 100% haircut that they seem to be proposing.

I think you made a good decision.
I would have done the same if my funds was not stuck.
