So much for transparency and honesty. Original announcement dated 23rd March, "On 24th March 2014 we will be freezing the current BTC, LTC, TRC and FTC accounts", appears to not be true as they have now issued a subsequent announcement dated 24th March, which says, "As announced in the previous news we will perform the balance freeze of BTC, LTC, FTC and TRC on 25 March at ~01:00 GMT"

So they've allowed everybody to believe that the 'freezing' had already taken place and now they are saying it is actually being done tomorrow, even though withdrawals of those currencies have been frozen all day today?

Everybody who logged on today thinking it had been done and they were free to trade, if not to withdraw yet, has been stitched up like a kipper.

I had 14B on there. Traded out with Alts and lost 6.5B thank you very much for yet again confirming that OTC and physical private storage of my bitcoin is the only way to go.

Similar here... took a loss trading out to DOGE that was trading at 50% more than the market price.

A 35% haircut is better than the 100% haircut that they seem to be proposing.

It appears that 'available' also means 'frozen'. Every time I attempt a withdrawal, I get logged out and this popup/url error.

That seems to be what happens when the hot wallet has insufficient funds.

maybe the vircurex guys are selling the altcoins at 50% above market prices to make some money and fix their deficit. they have inside information and know exactly what's missing, if the market is pricing uncorrectly I guess they will close the gap buying what's cheap and selling what's expansive and make some money out of it

More like 1485 minutes from now.

postponed, no wonder, they are finally making some fees out of trading. maybe this can help increase the refunding share.

Guys come on this was a bullshit scam. Oh look it worked for Gox why don't we try. Let's buy up all of the alt coins freeze withdrawal of all of BTC and LTC, sell they alt coins for double and make out like bandits. I have zero faith in these exchanges, and he has investors in this site. It's sad. Their needs to be some accountability.

The problem with any centralised exchange is as soon as any coins are stolen the exchange then becomes fractional reserve. (Unless it's making significant profits). This in addition to working with a currency undergoing extreme deflation makes it pretty much impossible to recover from that point forward IMO.

What I find shocking is how much they must have in the hot wallet vs cold store. I've presumed an exchange only hot-wallets what it expects to have taken out within a 24 hour period, automatically sweeping coins out if it gets too big, and staff top it back up on say an 8-hour rotation if needed. It's becoming clear a number of exchanges are keeping far too much in their hot wallet, or not doing an account audit before topping it up, so if the hot wallet's cracked they can lose crazy amounts of coin...

I find it absolutely unacceptable that my email to customer "service" and/or PM to Kumala has not been answered after 5 days - I can see he has been online yesterday.

5 days? lol, I have some question there for 5 months at least Cheesy

Yeah, Kumala became very unresponsive about 5 months ago. I've sent a few technical support emails and none got answered except one where he asked me if my query had been sorted by another member of the support team. I replied it had not yet been fixed but he never got back to me.

I think whatever problems they have been having have been going on for a while.

I started a couple polls/threads where we can get a distribution of how many BTC and LTC have been frozen and post when you have had your funds have been unfrozen so we can gauge the progress of the of the unfreeezing process.

BTC here -> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5871976

LTC here -> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.5872019

Don't do it.

My BTC deposit is missing and they have now removed the FTC withdrawal button from the accounts page.

people are paying up to 50% to get out, so the market is pricing 50% as missing, even more on ltc (but mainly due to the fact that to get out you have o sell your ltc, so ltc looks underpriced here).
