i have notice over the past couple of days the pool has started to level off as far as in speed.
Also its kinda funny over the top 3 users how big of a jump it is to first place.

If it's an individual, it's easier than running your own pool software to just solo mine. Bitcoin-QT can't handle that much hashrate.

Yeah, it's been a depressing 2 days, especially after pretty decent luck for most of the current difficulty. We were in the 105-107% range until Sept 1.

ASICMINER Coupon units are now distributed to all remaining 1.05 BTC orders who did not get one previously. The new coupons are 0.15 BTC/unit, and there is a 0.05 BTC shipping+handling fee per order (whether it's 1 unit or 50). Maybe you should keep the Getwork server going, it's an easy option for Blade users (especially as they're getting more popular thanks to the greatly reduced price)?

The problem is I did not write the getwork pool software. It is extremely dated, and took a lot of tweaks to get it to continue running. It's just too expensive to keep going. The 5 TH/s of the pool using getwork uses more bandwidth than the other 225 TH/s combined, and more CPU resources.

Is the getwork server still going? I would like to set it as backup server for my ASICMiner Blade (I'll be using a stratum proxy for normal mining).
The getwork server is still running, but that won't be the case for much longer. If you use the later versions of bfgminer, supposedly Luke-Jr has gotten it to work with the Blades. Essentially he created a getwork server inside bfgminer to communicate with blades. I don't think the Windows binaries support it yet, but Linux should if you compile it.

Sorry for the lack of a presence in the thread the last two days. I snuck in a vacation to visit family for the holiday weekend, but didn't want to announce it in advance due to fears of attacks while I was on the road (even though I do have a mobile emergency laptop & notification system these days ).

I would like to request that debates about hardware RoI be made in the proper forums (Custom Hardware). Questions related to hardware are fine if it's also related to the pool, but everybody has already had the same arguments over and over when it comes to the currently readily available ASIC hardware.
Block Erupter coupons will be distributed tomorrow morning for the other 70% of orders made at 1.05 BTC/unit. The new coupons will not expire since there is no longer a limited supply. These units are in hand and should have a 24-48 hour turnaround for the first day or so, then a 24-hour turnaround once the initial bulk of orders are filled.

Or.. do what i am planning on doing, save 1/2 of my btc and spend the other half on hardware to earn me some USD. In short 1/2 of my mining power goes toward the future of BTC and the other 1/2 goes to cold hard cash.

But I look at it this way.. If I replaced a 200MH card that ate 250W of power with a 333MH ASIC that uses 2.5W, then I will see quite a difference in power consumption...
Ultimately this is all a hobby to me. I used no actual money to buy any of this stuff. Just free BTC I mined myself... So in the end, I never actually lose any of my REAL money that I actually worked for, other than power I pay via electric bill... so I feel better with ASICs.. cause I am losing less REAL money....

You asked me to prove I'm making more than enough after electricity to pay for the electricity. I did.
I'm not ignoring anything. This is a game of numbers, and I estimate I'll come out ahead in the end. Yes, I could put it all in a spreadsheet, and estimate how long it'll take to break even, but I can't predict the future. Why bother? Right now I'm at least 50% paid off, which is pretty good. Will I hit 100%? Time will tell.
Remember, the BTC I put into these was all in the black profit from my GPUs.

No it isn't because you can always buy and hold bitcoins and make a bigger profit.How many times does this have to be explained?
So all we know, without knowing the actual future price of BTC, is that trading is MORE profitable than mining with USB Erupters, and probably than mining in general.
Personally I'm not expecting to make a profit in this game, but that's what it is to me - just a game.
